Entropy Champions Interview!

Alaina listend to Etzli's speech.... or whatever you wanted to call that ranting. The silence after gave Alaina a moment to think of some response to that.

She began a slow clap.

"That was overly elaborate, yet incredibly vague all at the same time. I, ah... well that was something." Alaina said as she finished clapping. "So... what exactly are the stipulations of a Showdown of Worthy Contenders Within the Confines of the Sacred Ring of Combat Match?" A very confused Alaina asked. She smiled, still holding her belt. However, given the unpredictability of this woman, she braced herself mentally for some sort of trick or sneak attack. Friction was a strange place like that......

Madison had been watching from a safe distance and was surprised Etzl was able to sneak everything in that she did, including herself.

She stepped closer to the two and cleared her throat. "I believe that since it was the General Manager's discretion to make the match, she's also dictated the terms. Standard format is what she's said so far."

"It's...yeah, it's a standard match." Etzli drooped a bit, as the dramatic tension she'd been cultivating had been momentarily deflated.

There was a dismayed pause.

"Um...dare you enter my perilous realm?"

Moments later, a set of timed sparklers went off all around the room, bathing them in an otherworldly glow. The effect was thankfully only somewhat lost by the derailing of her atmosphere, although had she gotten to build up to something traditionally absurd it probably would've had a bit more of an impact.

"Thanks Madison. A standard match will be fine, and I will do all that I can to defend this title against..." Alaina paused looking at her opponent and all the theatrics she had put into crashing this interview. "..against this woman. I have a feeling that when the final bell rings it will be me holding my hand up high, retaining my title at the end."

Alaina hoped that her confident, but at least rational response would trigger a like reply from her first opponent for the title.

These hopes were, of course, entirely in vain.

"Ask not for whom the final bell tolls," thundered Etzlicoatl, gesturing magnificently. "For when it tolls, it will toll...FOR YOU. Ye niauh!!!" With that, she cast down some type of pouch and there was a second explosion of obnoxious, choking smoke, which faded a few seconds later to reveal an empty room where she had once stood.

The door off to the left was open now, though, so she'd probably just dashed through it while the smoke cloud had been up. Either that or she was hiding under another box.

Alaina coughed once more as the room filled with smoke. Thankfully, when everything cleared it was just herself and Madison standing there alone. "Oh wow.... what exactly just happened anyway?" Alaina asked Madison and the cameraman, not sure she would get an answer. Those two seemed just as surprised about what transpired as she was.

"Ah, anyhow... I would be more than happy to answer any other questions you have for me!" Alaina said with a smile. She wasn't about to let a couple smoke bombs, a surprise announcement, or a crazy rookie ruin her interview!

Madison shrugged once Alaina addressed her. She didn't know much about the sprightly Mexican contender. However, she sorta wanted to find out. As Alaina asked if Madison had any more questions, the girl gave Alaina an apologetic smile.

"Actually, I think I'm going to see if I can't track down your opponent. Thanks for the interview though! Good luck!" Madison said and turned to dash out of the room, hoping to catch up with Etzlicoatl.
