I attend a gaming society at college and we play DnD as well, my best pal went as a dwarf bard (I go as human fighter). He tends to be the one who triggers traps.

For instance the team was presented with three doors, on each door had a symbol of a God. The left was Chaotic evil. the middle was true neutral and the right was lawful good. In his infinite wisdom he went for the evil door on account of always going left, on his roll to resist the trap he got a bad roll and a lightning bolt shot through the handle and into his eye. He got healed though XD.

I've been playing it since it existed and I've never seen that as a thing. In fact, I've always thought casters scaled down after level 7ish.

When saves go up every other level and spell difficulties go up every 8, mages get outpaced pretty quickly. That's the one complaint our wizard has.

Clearly we're doing something wrong if we've never had the issue everyone else has had.

You totally are. @_@ Level 7 or so is when casters start to break loose and totally outpace everyone even more.

I'm...not sure at all what your Wizard is doing wrong. That's weird.

EDIT: Totally not trying to badmouth your group or anything, by the way. Far from it. >_<

Our wizard is good. He's pretty awesome but he's not even close to being heads above any of the other party members. Half of our encounters he just stands around. He's good clearing out trash though.

Is he a blaster caster or did he load up on save or suck spells. Because if it's the former he's a bad wizard.

Then are you just getting thrown too much spell resistant stuff because by level 8 the Wizard should be starting to outpace if not eliminating the need outright for the fighter

When you're in epic level, everything has that kind of save resistance.
