Can't say I blame him, I mean if you net yourself a prominent role in something like Star Wars you're pretty much set for life - if not from royalties, then at least from doing the convention tours.

Personally I think he'll make an awesome Black Adam for the Shazam film.

He's already been confirmed for Black Adam in the upcoming Shazam movie. That should be pretty fun.

Would Rock being in it be worse than Samuel Jackson being in it?

Rock surely won´t be forced to return to wrestling with the royalities of Fast and furious alone. Acting wise, he is no Samuel Jackson, but a cameo or even a small role with text would not hurt anybody. Maybe not nobody, Vince McMahon would probably attempt to sell a kidney or one of its granddaughters to Disney for the chance to have the Rock appear in Jedi clothes in a RAW.

I *was* a big fan of Star Wars, however I feel that was more down to the expanded universe (particularly the Zahn trilogy) then the films. I must confess that when I first saw each of the prequels I actually liked them, however they did gradually kill off my enthusiasm for the franchise and eventually I grew to hate them... If the prequels were to come on TV now I would still probably watch them, if I hadn't been such a big Star Wars fan at the time they would have forever been average to me, there are far worse films that I've seen that I wouldn't be able to sit through again

I expect the new films to be in between the prequels and the originals... they won't be able to reach the height of the originals but I think Disney will understand that they won't be able to and aim to do a better job at complimenting them then the prequels did.
