Re: AFW Writing unison
My vote goes for the predetermined title matches.
Competitive matches, especially title ones, only really seem to work out between two players who either know each other really well/are good friends.
The rest of the time your left with too much uncertainty in what to do, and always run the risk of each player angering each other, or of one ending up being called a Power Player because they happen to be winning such a bout.
Besides, if Competitive title matches HADN'T been causing an issue in the past, they wouldn't be planning on changing them would they?
Random thought: Would these changes, such as the new directory idea and such, apply to just Friction or to Tension as well?
Gotta make sure Tai can eventually be the annoying jackass bragging about his third hentai title reign after all.

I am guessing it could be for Tension as well. Not that there have really been any issues there...

What about people who prefer to savor their title matches by never ending them? I think you're overlooking this very significant demographic. You can't MAKE me finish a match.

[quote="daemongirl":h30aar9s]I think what harrier was saying is that for him knowing the outcome of a match before hand is like having a movie or a good book spoiled, it takes some of the fun out of it.
^This.
Has nothing to do with competition for me, I am not a person to argue about the outcome of a match or about putting someone over.
Given the chance I would probably swallow the toad, but it would stay a toad. But if the majority thinks it' a good idea, democracy has spoken.

I can't imagine that title matches would make up a significant portion of any members matches/threads, even if that member had a character who was a title holder.
You can do whatever you want, but titles exist to serve the many. They're for rp material for us as a corporate entity. It's a responsibility in having one to use it in such a way as to enrich the rp-ness for others. So it makes sense to me that title matches aren't as free as others.

The number of people that do not want to even have 1 or 2 predetermined matches from time to time for these reasons are going to be extremely low, most like this will still at least partake in predetermined matches but simply enjoy them less then others. For such people we will not force them to take part in PPVs or title matches, but I believe that they might have to sacrifice a bit of their fun in these couple of rare title matches they have, so that PPVs and title matches remain enjoyable for everyone as a group within AFW
