Her again?!

One of AFW's many female wrestlers spending some time backstage. Gail was more or less in a terrible mood. Pretty much everyday was like this whenever she was here. After string of losses. a sparse win here and there brought her to a big event. Except it wasn't really one. Management decided that it'd be a good idea to put her in the opener when the audience wasn't even there. Somehow though, everyone had arrived in time to watch her lose spectacularly to Lucy a second time. After watching the "interview" with her and that blue sock-puppet girl for the millionth time, it was accurate to say that she was a little ticked. Honestly, she didn't know why she bothered coming here, it'd only make her mad.

But, since she was here, she had to keep herself in check somehow, at least enough to avoid picking fights with everybody here, she tried to keep her mind away from Lucy. It was working for now, she had only purposely bumped into two people so far. And now she was in one of the main buildings beside the locker room, unsure of why she was even there.

Nikolette was feeling pretty good. She had been training hard for her next match up and hoped that she could score a victory and push herself further. She also knew that if she ever felt like it, that she could challenge Lady Lakota for the title she carried around her waist. The thought was enticing and many times she thought that she might do it. But she also needed the perfect match. She wanted it to be fair but interesting. A standard match was well and good but she felt she could be more creative. Aside from that, she had bigger fish to fry. First she needed to take down Kelly. Then... Angel...

Unfortunately Angel had become the best in the business. Or, at least, was the current champion. Nikolette had to be good enough to beat her. Their careers had taken much different paths and it still upset her. Sure, she could probably achieve some gold of her own but it was a pale comparison. Angel would probably mock her. And if she could beat Angel then wouldn't it be foolish to go after any other belt aside from the World Title?

As she contemplated it, she came into the locker from her workout. She looked around and didn't see too much activity. There was one girl who seemed to be blindly walking around though. She knew her. Well, she knew everyone. At least by face. But she recognized her from more than a picture. She had fought Gail when Gail was just a rookie. Now the girl was already in a PPV match. Nikolette hadn't even been in one of those yet. She remembered during their encounter that the last exchange between them was a fist to the face. Nikolette had punched the snarky Canadian and walked off.

But Nikolette didn't like to have enemies. Angel was a rival, and while she disliked Kelly to no end, it was the blonde's fault that the situations constantly elevated between them. Maybe Nikolette could mend the fence between herself and Gail. She walked up to her and gave her a friendly slap on the back and clutched her shoulder.


"Oi!" She said and smiled at Gail in a friendly manner. "Congratulations on makin yer first Pay-Per-View! You've come a long way in the company pretty quickly! You must have gotten real strong since we hada match!" She encouraged with good cheer.

Gail felt something on her shoulder, and spun around to see what it was. It was a familiar face. Nikolette. The OTHER one. Gail had lumped Nikolette together with Lucy in her head given how she'd lost easily to both right at the start of her career here, to think of one was to think of the other. The difference between now and then wasn't much. The only thing was Gail had learned that she was not anything close to the top in a league with so many skilled fighters, so her arrogance had cut down quite a bit from her last encounter with janitor girl. Her temper of course, had not gone through such a change.

What came out of Nikol's mouth wasn't a taunt or anything provocative. It was just a friendly greeting. Except for Gail, the simple mention of that PPV flared her up and took the words to be sarcastic. "What, you want to make fun of me too? How about you fucking..." Gail stopped herself; Nikol had managed to knock her lights out, and although she had trained some since then, she was actually scared of pissing Nikol off.

Nikolette took a step back when Gail spun around. She held her hands up defensively. "What?" She said, trying to keep a smile going. "If I wanted to make fun a ya, don't tyou think I;d llead with something better than "congratulations?" She said, chuckling softly, trying to keep the atmosphere as friendly as possible.

"Even if it was a dark match and even if ya lost, it's a pretty good accomplishment to make a Pay-Per-View. Especially Avalanche. I've never been to one myself." Nikolette took a step back. She realized she might be patronizing a bit. She tried not to sound like that but she couldn't help herself. "So, have you been trainin? Will I have ta worry if we have a rematch?" She hoped but Nikolette had been training as well. If all things remained constant and their increases in training would amount to a lateral shift then the outcome might not be too much different from before.

Gail didn't like Nikolette. It was irrational hatred, but nonetheless... "Just fucking..." Gail didn't want to say more, but she also did want to say more. Nikol's friendly smile wasn't helping much either. The part of Gail that still believe her to be better than people like Nikolette was telling her to punch that stupid grin off. It was shouted out by the rest of her brain for now.

But she also couldn't just run away from here, so the remaining only option was to respond. Trying to keep a mostly civil tone, Gail responded to Nikol's question. "I... Of course I've been training! I'll fucking beat you hard next time!" Gail said it with confidence she couldn't really back up; even though she had been training, how easily Nikolette took her down the first time was a very discouraging memory.

Nikolette raised her eye at Gail. She could feel the ire rolling off of Gail and she backed away a bit. She threw her hands up in mock surrender and smiled at the angry Canadian. Nikolette then looked down. "Listen. If we wrestle again, I hope we have a great match but I can't let you win. I have goals too. I want to be better. I have people that I need to beat." She said. "I want to be in a Pay-Per-View match. I want to hold a title."

Nikolette tilted her head. She wondered a bit about Gail. Why was the girl even wrestling here? She wasn't very good and had a bad attitude. She didn't seem like the kind of girl to have the passion for wrestling. Nikolette hadn't either. She started out doing it as a hobby and only because she was both strong and smart was she able to manage a decent career. But what about Gail. "So, why did a get into wrestling anyway?" She asked.

That was a good question. Gail's reason for coming here was to get famous by taking down all these so-called great fighters. Unfortunately, the reality was that she didn't get anything close to famous for her ability. So saying that wasn't happening. But what should she say then? "I... I came here to... I dunno, why the fuck do I have to tell you?" Gail took advantage of the debate tactic of avoiding the question. Why was she even wasting time talking Nikolette?

She was about to turn around an go in the opposite direction, but stopped midturn. Her voice was a lot quieter this time. "I... thought I was good enough to win here... So I came and got my ass stomped and now I can't fucking get out." Gail said it. If she had bothered to think about it, she might have noticed that her reasons weren't too different from what Nikol had said, just with a lot more failure.

Nikolette took a step back when Gail spouted off angrily at her. She didn't REALLY have to tell her. But it wasn't like Nikolette was asking her for anything that was THAT personal. Why was the girl such a stick in the mud? So angry at everything? She seemed so pissed off at the world and Nikolette couldn't figure it out. Kelly seemed like that too. The more she thought about it, a LOT of the girls int he AFW felt that way.

Nikolette raised her eye when Gail turned to leave and then when she stopped, the former mechanic tilted her head. She smiled sweetly at Gail and closed the distance between them. She laid a hand on Gail. "Not everyone can just get a million wins right away. I traded wins and losses when I first started here. Getting a loss doesn't mean you suck. Getting a win doesn't mean you're the best ever. If you just keep at it, you'll do great!' Nikolette said, slapping Gail's back with friendly encouragement. "If you want, i can show ya a few moves." She added. Maybe the two of them could become friends. Maybe she could crack this nut. Gail couldn't be as bad as the sourpuss facade she put up.

Why was this janitor girl so insistent on... whatever the hell she was doing? Gail had made it plenty clear that she didn't want anything to do with her. The friendly act was getting on her nerves too, how the hell did she manage to get beaten by someone like this?

Gail didn't say anything at all until Nikol offered to 'show a few moves' "Fuck you! I don't need your fucking help!" What could she possibly get from watching Nikolette anyways? Why the heck was she even offering?

Janet had been walking on sunshine ever since she won that Entropy title match against Kelly Conway. Every day, she had to resist the urge to strap that belt on around her waist before walking out the door. She wanted to show it off. It seemed to her to be a physical manifestation of all the hard work she had put into her wrestling career since arriving in Tokyo just a little more than a year earlier. She really did feel like a champion!

Today, all she was doing was relaxing. She would need to look into finding an opponent to take her on in the next Entropy title match, but, as of right now, she had only been Entropy champion for a week or so. She felt she had earned a little time off, and she was enjoying it, wandering around Tokyo or the AFW compound, getting recognized by a surprising number of people wherever she went. I never knew that there could be this many perverted people living so close together, she said to herself, with a little laugh. She was perverted, too, but where she came from, she was just about the only one. Even if it is Japan!

As she made her way through the AFW corridors, she heard a raised voice coming from up around the bend. Someone shouting. It wasnâ€t unusual, but it did pique the Native American wrestlerâ€s curiosity. She quickened her pace a little, coming around the corner to find a smiling Nikolette talking to a shorter, grouchy-looking brunette.

“Hey!” Janet called out cheerfully, happy to see again the girl who had helped her overcome the cheating Kelly in her last match.
