Lightning Tournament Semifinals: Akiha Kosha Vs. Gabbie Desjardin

Akiha was focused on putting the pressure on Gabbie, not wanting to give her opponent a chance to breathe or recover. As she rolled into the ring she would get up and quickly scan for her opponent only to realize that Gabbie was in crouching position. Crap, this meant that her Canadian opponent was now ready to fight and defend herself. She wasn't charging at Akiha yet, which meant that the Japanese wrestler would have to come at her or else Gabbie would be given more time to heal up. Neither of those two options sounded good to the Japanese wrestler, but she decided to charge forward, attempting to close the distance and try to hit her opponent with a big boot.

Gabbie watched as Akiha charged at her and the second it looked like she was committed to the kick, Gabbie rolled forward past the Japanese girl. she then popped up and without looking spun her body around in a kicking motion.

She aimed the roundhouse at Akiha's back, or chest of the girl turned around. She just hoped that she could connect with the kick before Akiha had the wherewithal to dodge. That's why Gabbie kicked blind but she felt confident in her attack.

The raven hair wrestler charged forward and threw a kick aimed right at Gabbie's face in order to knock her down but instead of hitting her face, all Akiha hit was the air.  Her opponent had dodged her kick and now Akiha was exposed and Gabbie decided to take advantage of that by sending a kick of her own towards the Japanese wrestler.  With her foot still coming back, Akiha had no way to defend herself as she was then hit in the back by one of Gabbie powerful kicks, sending the raven hair wrestler down to the wrestling mat.  The Japanese wrestler would grunt as she hit the floor before trying to push herself back up, that was if her Canadian opponent didn't press her attack. The audience would give a small cheer at seeing Gabbie starting to take control of the match from the heel.

Gabbie let her foot drop back down as she looked at Akiha. She saw that the girl was already starting to get back up and Gabbie knew she couldn't allow that. Much like Akiha had hit Gabbie in the same spot multiple times, the Canadian knew that was a good idea.

She had already kicked Akiha pretty hard in the spine and so she was going to try again. Gabbie lifted her toned leg high in the air and swung it down in an axe kick aimed at Akiha's spine.

Akiha was starting to pick herself up before being sent right back down.  “AHHH” yelled the raven hair wrestler as she fell back to the wrestling mat.  She had never felt a kick hurt that much ever in her life as her back was now in utter pain from the brutal axe kick she had just taken.  It would be a few moments before the raven hair Japanese wrestler would start moving.

Now THAT felt good.

Gabbie watched Akiha writhe in pain and her initial instinct was to pushed the Japanese girl onto her back and pin her, but even though she had done some damage, Akiha seemed to be tough enough to at least throw her arm up. Besides, Gabbie knew she needed to work on her wrestling skills and since both girls had been using their feet, the Canadian wanted to clip Akiha's wings a bit.

Gabbie bent down and grabbed one of Akiha's legs and turned around. Though she knew a little bit of jiu jitsu, her wrestling wasn't that great. She didn't know if this was a real move or not, but she felt like it was the best course of action.

Gabbie dropped down on Akiha's back, letting her butt slam into the girl's spine once more. She then pulled on Akiha's leg with both of her hands and pressed her bare foot into the back of Akiha's bare thigh, just above the base so her own ankle nestled against Akiha's butt cheek. Gabbie would then lean back as much as the position would allow.

She HOPED this might make Akiha tap, but at the very least, she believed it would slow her down a bit.

Akiha was still in pain from the axe kick that had hit her back. She would try to push through the pain and attempt to pick herself up but just as she started to push herself up she then felt her leg getting grabbed. Before she could manage a counter attack, Akiha would knock back down to the wrestling mat as Gabbie sat on her back, causing the raven hair wrestler to gasp in pain.

If Akiha had to guess, she would say that her Canadian opponent was about to perform a Boston crab, after all why else would she grab her legs and sit on her back. Yet to her surprise this was not true as Gabbie performed an attack that Akiha had never seen or experienced before. She could feel the pressure on her leg as Gabbie used both her arms and her foot to apply pressure on Akiha leg. The raven hair wrestler screamed in pain as she would try to go for the ropes. The referee would slide near her and ask if she wanted to give up but the heel would decline, she had never tapped before and she wasn't going to start now.

Gabbie could feel Akiha reaching for the ropes. Although she heard the girl decline the submission, she felt that since her other foot was planted firmly on the canvas that Akiha wasn't going to make it to the ropes. Still, it was frustrating not being able to just make Akiha tap out. She cursed the thought that if she had her sister's skill in submission wrestling, this fight would already be over. She also cursed the fact that Cassie Elliot had been driven out of the league.

"In Jiu Jitsu." Gabbie said, suddenly feeling the need to talk, despite having little to say before. "Submitting is a natural part of the sport. People don't tap because they can't stand the pain, they tap because if they don't, their arm or leg will be shredded beyond repair. So, you're lucky that I'm a kickboxer."

Gabbie wrenched harder, trying to really put the pressure on Akiha's leg. "Or maybe you're unlucky. I can only beat you unconscious to win. I can't really end this with one clean submission... but you should still give up."

The pain was getting worse and worse by the moment and Akiha wasn't making much progress to the ropes.  She could hear Gabbie talking about how in Jiu Jitsu people tap due to not wanting to take an injury they couldn't recover from.  Akiha would let out another scream as more pressure was applied to her leg before Gabbie continued to talk, now stating she only needed to knock out Akiha to win but that she should still give up now instead.  “Give up, this early?  The crowd is here for a show and I intend to give them one.” replied the Japanese wrestler as she tried to crawl forward.

Akiha didn't want to lose, she didn't want to give up, she didn't want to tap this early in the match.  She had pride in herself and in her skills, there had to be a way out.  Then she realized something, Gabbie was using both her arms and one of her legs to apply pressure, that meant she only had one leg to keep herself balanced.  Thus, the raven hair wrestler would now use her arms to try to roll her body in hopes of tipping over her blond Canadian opponent so that she would be freed from the hold.

Gabbie raised an eyebrow at Akiha's words. This early was a foreign concept to the Canadian fighter. Matches went until they went. Whether it was a first round knock out or a twelve round affair, it went until it went. The audience that was watching understood this. They didn't need anything more than the thrill of watching exciting combat. At least, that was what Gabbie thought.

She didn't have time to mull it over in her mind very long as she felt Akiha push and roll. Her tactic was successful and Gabbie was tipped over. She thumped against the canvas and released Akiha as she spilled over onto her hands and knees and quickly looked to scramble to her feet before Akiha could. Even if the submission was broken, she had to press Akiha and keep her reeling!

As she hopped up and planted her feet, she swung a sharp kick at Akiha, hoping to keep her from fully collecting herself.
