Re: Topic: Wrestling?
Well, if fans start making petitions to get you back in the mix, that's a good indicator.

Re: Topic: Wrestling?
That doesn't matter unless those people actually PAY to see the guy.
I thought JBL was a freaking great Heel champion, but his run failed because he didn't draw. According to ppv buys, theres a chance he might have been the second lowest drawing champion ever.
So the only way to prove that a guy like Daniel Bryan or Dolph Ziggler or any future star that they should be main eventers and title holders is to see if they draw money.
Thanks to the WWE network cutting in on PPV buys and at least one provider dropping WWE PPVs, its going to become much harder to prove who is and isn't a draw.

I, too, am outraged over this mishandling of pro wrestling market analytic. How are we supposed to know who to support without sufficient statistical data?

Re: Topic: Wrestling?
There will still be a PPV market where the network isn't up yet and the TV deal got renewed so there's still that. But ratings and quaterlies are a bizzare blend of sorcery and WWE has never cared about the overseas PPV market because it's so small compared to the domestic branch (a side effect of timezones making PPVs an arse to watch even in the best conditions. 4am finish on a Monday morning? It's miserable)

Re: Topic: Wrestling?
Not to sound like a hardcore smark, but it`s probably like it`s everywhere else, the biggest asskissers and psychos make the best money and get the best treatment.
Just take a look at Orton, a guy who is known for his temper tantrums, inability to draw(like every, really every number concering his drawing ability concludes), rude behavior to fans, wellness violations etc etc. Still management loves him so much that he plays second fiddle to HHH. Maybe because they are Evolution buddies? Maybe. Maybe he sells so much merch that fan reactions are not important? Maybe a big shareholder is an Orton fan and demands him to be in a prominent role? Stranger things have happened in companies bigger than WWE, where managers ruled over their companies like the sun king(Krupp, Lehman Brothers) and did not buy into the sign of times.

Re: Topic: Wrestling?
I can't say that I'm too excited about the andre the giant memorial battle royal for the "coveted" andre the giant memorial trophy. The Bryan segment was good though. And it leaves the chance that the WM30 main event won't suck.
