Esther Savato-Howell vs Mai Nagasawa

Mai played it smart, going for a short range knee to catch Esther up, but she successfully juked the foxy idol. She darted back, and Mai went for the kick. She overplayed it, trying to steal the advantage Esther had never intended to give her. Esther's twisted her head to the side, and Mai's furious feet caught nothing but air, and Esther was quick to counter, aiming a powerful blow into Mai's gut. Esther preferred going for the face, but she was down low ducking that kick and it was too early to try to get cute.

Mai's eyes widened when she saw the kick miss. She wasn't entirely counting on the kick to hit, but the way Esther came in, left Mai completely exposed. When the punch rocketed into her mid section, all she could do was watch. "Ugnnnghh!" Mai grunted loudly, very unidol-like and backed up a few steps before collapsing to her knees. Her arms wrapped around her gut as she tried to suck in a breath. She'd left herself totally exposed an in such a bad position. If she weren't in such pain from the solid punch, she would have cursed such a rookie mistake.

"Psh, some cat you are." Esther gave a wide grin as her fists finally found their mark. It was time to put this singer to bed. "You look more like a rat where I'm standing." It was a great shot to send her back to her knees, and from where she was standing, Mai's face may as well have been a giant bullseye. She charged in, aiming a powerful punch right into Mai's face.

Mai was doubled over, trying to catch her breath when Esther taunted her. her cheeks flushed and she pushed the palm of her hand down and forced herself to try and start crawling. it was only when she looked up that she saw Esther had already closed the gap. Mai's eyes widened as she watched the punch slam into her face, causing her to sprawl backwards on her back, staring up at the blurry and bright arena lights. Once again, if her head wasn't swimming, she would have cursed her own foolishness.

Esther's fist nailed Mai with a satisfying crack. Pounding someone in the face never, EVER got old. Her follow through carried her a step beyond the downed idol. She shook out her fist as she let out a yaulp as the joy of a good fight began to settle in. "Aaahaha!" She spun around on her heel and glared down at Mai. "Ooh, lotta good all those fancy kicks did ya, huh?" Esther hopped back and forth on her legs and gave a few pathetic looking mock kicks to show Mai how ridiculous she must have looked. Then, she set her boot down on Mai's face, scraping it across her head with such force that it carried the boxer a few steps forward. The ref girl was pretty quick to harp on Esther but Esther ignored her completely.

Mai panted as she rubbed her face. It hurt a lot and she ope she didn't have a bruise. But before she could do anything else, Esther's foot pressed against her. She squealed and tried to grab and shove away Esther's foot, only to have it slide painfully across it. it was a humiliating and painful move and Esther's mocking made the cat girl seethe. She rubbed her cheek, groaning as she looked up to see the boxer's tight ass hovering just past her. A villainous wrestler might take the chance to cheap shot the haughty boxer and while Mai was no villain, she wasn't going to let a good opportunity go to waste!

While the ref was chastising Esther, Mai threw one hand up ans snaked it between the boxer's legs. Then , with all the force she could muster, she tried to yank and pull Esther off balance so that Mai could try and catch the girl off guard in a quick, roll up pin!

"Gah-eek!" Esther shrieked. Mai had lurched back into action far quicker than the boxer expected. She was scooped off her feet and into a pin. No way! This could not be happening!

The ref was quick to hit the mat. "One! Two!" Esther bucked out of the pin and rose to her feet, scowling.

"How... How DARE YOU!" She shouted, stomping her feet in anger. This little rat tried to steal the win! From HER! That could not stand. Stomping in with no regard for her stance, Esther would swing a powerful haymaker at the idol's face, wherever it would be at the moment.

Mai was not really expecting her surprise roll up to finish Esther off. If it did, she might feel bad, but then, if it did, Esther probably deserved to lose that way. However, it DID change the momentum of the match and that was one goal Mai was happy to see achieved. When Esther kicked out, Mai was thrown off and quickly hopped up to her feet. She watched as Esther rose quickly as well and came charging at her with a wild haymaker.

Mai ducked and threw herself forward in a short burst of speed, running past the enraged boxer and pivoting on her back foot. She was pretty sure she wouldn't need to wait for Esther to turn around and while she had her back turned, she committed to a leggy kick and spun around, trying to catch Esther with a roundhouse to the face while she turned as well.

The punch went wide, and Mai slipped around Esther. The Storm refused to let Mai get away that easily. She twisted toward her only to see Mai's leg coming right at her. Esther's instincts kicked in. She brought her arm up to block. The kick slammed hard into Esther's forearm, knocking her a step to the side but did little to quell her righteous fury. After a beat to regain her footing, she stepped forward, swinging a powerful uppercut right to the jaw of this stupid guinea pig.

Mai winced when she felt her ankle smash against something quite hard and her follow through pushed against Esther's arms. She turned her head to see the block and brought her foot down quickly as Esther recovered. Mai sighed and was about to pull her fists up again when Esther was already coming back for a charging fist. Mai's eyes widened and she threw her hands up, expecting a straight jab or hook. But she wasn't a boxer and her defensive techniques with her hands weren't that good in that regard and the uppercut slammed into her chin, ducking through her guard.

Her eyes went wide as her teeth snapped together loudly. She staggered back and fell flat on her behind, staring up at the arena lights. She was conscious but she felt ethereal, like she was floating above her own body as she looked at the bright arena lights. Esther had a lot of power and she was a great boxer. The only solace she could take with her was that the ref wouldn't be leaning over her to start the ten count.
