When Drake received word of his upcoming match, he didn't know what to say. All of his pushing, his training, his frustrations and urging himself to keep fighting when it seemed opponents had his number all seem to've paid off.

'This is it...'

Not only would it be his first ever PPV, but it was the shot he'd been hoping for. His chance to prove himself - to prove the promoters in America wrong; to prove them all wrong. He could make his family proud, the way America never gave him the chance. He could make his words in his interview a reality. He could live up to his potential. He could finally achieve his dream. He could be the champion he's always wanted to be. Only one more match stood in the way. If he could defeat the new queen of the ring, the Tension title would be his.

It's a lot to process in the span of an awkwardly silent few seconds. In the end, all Drake manages is a near-speechless, but very sincere, "Thank you..."

Bzzt! Bzzt!

Drake finishes pulling off his shirt and stuffing it into the locker before lifting his cellphone. It's from Amy:

skip. hey skip.

He blinks. Bzzt!

kick. ass.

A wry smile tugs his lips. Amy's got her own brand of support, and he's genuinely touched for it. The cellphone is placed in the locker with his shirt. "Will do."

As he removed his shorts, he had to wonder if Julia would be watching. She might have her own thing going on in Friction - he could understand that. So if she weren't here, he wouldn't hold it against her. But at the same time, he can't help but hope she's here for his big moment. He doesn't have many people he could call "his people," so those who could make it mean the world to him. He can't let them down - he won't be showing their support is wasted.

The shorts are pushed into the locker, and he takes a moment to look himself over in the mirror for final checks. Black and white boots, matching trunks, and bracers make up his standard ensemble, exposing his defined chest, sleek abdominals, and toned thighs. He runs a hand through his hair, tussling the bangs hanging over his right eye.

Just as he's reached the conclusion that he's good to go, a set hand knocks on the door. "Mr. Domino, it's time to go!"

"Thanks!," Drake calls back. He shuts his eyes and takes a final breath to steady himself. When they open again, he looks himself dead-on in the mirror. "Let's win a title."

"And now, for the main event!"

"For the Tension World Title!"

"Introducing first! The challenger! Weighing in at 160 lbs., and a height of 5'10"!"

"From Los! Angeles! California! U.S.A.!"

'Oh God I didn't change the-'

"DOMINOOOO!"

Techno music fills the stadium with a throbbing beat, featuring no discernible source nor serving any significance other than to get the audience pumped. It is utterly generic and lacking personality.

'-intro theme. Screw it.'

For as unremarkable as the tune is, it seems to've done its job in working the audience into a frenzy of anticipation. And when Domino strides out into view, he's met with an uproarious shower of praise. His right fist lifts into the air, and the young model beams a radiant, confident smile. The tension gnarling his insides is tremendous, but he keeps this carefully hidden as he begins down the ramp. True to form leading up to this momentous occasion, he stalls along the way to slap high-fives and give hugs to a few lucky female fans.

He hops up onto the ring apron and grabs the top rope to vault himself cleanly up and over. The moment boots touch mat, he rushes up the closest turnbuckle to perch on the middle ropes. There, he points out over the audience in a slow sweep. He then places that hand over his heart with a warm smile. He hops down and hurries to the opposite corner to acknowledge the remainder of the audience, this time pointing with both hands with a nod. There are no flares or ribbons shooting out of the corner posts for the challenger - only a show of heartfelt appreciation to the fans. It concludes with a final, enthusiastic thrust of his fist in salute before he hops back down.

The techno beat comes to an end, and Domino waits impatiently in his corner of the ring. The referee-girl checks him over for foreign objects while his amethyst eyes are fixated keenly on the ramp he expects his opponent to come through. He didn't have time to do any research on her. He doesn't know what to expect, and that tension he'd been fighting to hide begins to show in the form of nervous, anxious energy.

The crowds cheers became boos as a different theme began playing over the speakers, signaling the arrival of the champion.

"And the opponent, weighing in at 142 pounds and standing at 5''7' tall!

From Yokohama, Japan, She is the Tension Heavyweight Champion...

Reira Kirishima!"

The ring announcer yelled, as the champ walked out onto the ramp. Clad in her standard yellow and black spandex outfit, the golden title shining in the spotlight, the ginger woman made her way down to the ring. She ignored the crowd and their pathetic attempts to make her feel bad by booing her. Indeed, she felt incredible.

How long since joining AFW as security staff had she been trying to get a match, and now here she was, in just her third match for Tension, in the main event of its biggest show, defending the title. It was an incredible feeling, only marred by knowing Reira had to join the Thorns of a Rose group and be Ms. Sellers lapdog in order to get there.

Entering the ring, she didn't say anything to Domino, a guy she had seen win match after match during his brief tenure in the company so far. Instead, she held her belt up high above her head in one hand, letting him get a good look at it. He needed to see it, to have it close to him...so that Reira could move it back down and put it on her shoulder, silently making it clear that this belt was hers and hers only.

A new theme hits the stadium, and boos reach a crescendo. Domino is authentically taken aback by the reaction the fans have with the champ.

'Man, I really missed something here...'

Whoever she is, she has to be something pretty nasty to get this sort of antagonism. Should he be expecting dirty tactics? Low blows? Is he going to have to duel her over a folding chair?

When the woman comes into clear view, he lifts a jet-black eyebrow at her. She looks tough; definitely strong. She's got the body of someone who's seen a lot of physical exertion, but he doesn't get the impression she's worked out for the sake of having a certain look. He'd sooner believe she's spent her time powerlifting crates or something. She's not a little creampuff who got a lucky win to earn the title - she's trouble. Beating her will definitely mean he's earned the right to wear that belt.

But that's just it. She's in his way. Nothing makes it more clear to him than seeing that glittery golden belt held high, then put on her shoulder. His fingers curl into fists and those eyes narrow on her. No matter how strong she is, no matter how tough she proves to be, she's his last obstacle.

The teen leans out of his corner and steps up to the center of the ring. Shoulders back, neck straight, and body squared, he matches his eyes onto his opponent's in defiance. He's ready to go.

Now on the day of the huge show, Julia sat at the front row of the arena, her hands fidgeting in her lap as she anxiously awaited the start of the main event. When her boyfriend told her he’d be challenging for the world title in the main event of Showdown,  she’d been simply ecstatic! And when that familiar techno music began, the crowd erupted, but there wasn’t a single person in the whole arena who cheered louder than Julia.

“WOOOOO!!!! LET’S GO!” She screamed out as she shot right out of her chair and threw her arms up. As he made his way to the ring, she continued to shout and cheer like a fangirl over their favorite pop star. Only once his music died down and Reira’s music started did she begin to pipe down.

She didn’t know much about the defending champion, though she was somewhat surprised by the thunderous boos that filled the arena. Julia simply watched as the woman made her way into the ring. Most of the fans were starting to sit back down by the time Reira held the belt up in front of Drake, but the blonde cupped her hands over her mouth and shouted at the top of her lungs, “YOU’VE GOT THIS, DRAKE!” Only then did she take her seat, now eagerly waiting for the match to start.

Reira glanced over at some screaming girl in the front, who was trying extra hard to be supportive of her opponent.

"Huh, looks like you got a special fan there, kid. Somebody important?"

She asked, taking the belt off her shoulder and handing it to the referee, shaking and swinging her arms a bit just to get limber up a little, before moving her arms up in a classic wrestling stance.

"Well at least you'll have somebody to pick you up after I'm done with you!"

She yelled, as the bell rang to start things off.

Domino's focus is dead-set on Reira, ready to receive her and begin the match. His mind is already running at full tilt, analyzing her body, her movements, the way she carries herself, her self-assuredness...

A voice!

A familiar voice!

A familiar and very important voice!

'She did make it!'

Amethyst eyes redirect out into the crowd, scanning rapidly. There, he spots the blonde-haired, blue-eyed country girl, lending her full and enthusiastic support. Expression softens instantly when he makes eye-contact, and it's as plain to the audience here tonight as it was when he wrestled the girl - there's a special connection. A few coos of, "Aww," rise up here and there in the crowd, especially from the females in attendance and even moreso from those closest to Julia.

Even Reira seems to pick up on it. "The girlfriend," replies Domino with a wistful quality to his voice. A hand raises to the blonde, making it perfectly clear that he's heard her, seen her, and appreciates her, punctuated with a lighthearted wink.

Suddenly, all that changes when Reira gives her threat! The tension returns to his frame and he pivots to face her, eyes narrowed on her and stance resumed. It's just in time for the bell to sound off, and before the ringing even finishes reverberating through the stadium, the young model lashes out at his ginger opponent in an attempted lockup! His hands go for her shoulder and collar, hoping to gain a quick advantage by overpowering her and forcing her back into a corner.

He came in fast, Reira planting her feet and standing her ground, taken back only a step before she was able to push back and stop his momentum.

She had to admit, he seemed strong. The younger wrestlers always seemed to have some kind of strength or speed advantage these days, but now that Domino was in the ring with an actual veteran, He'd learn it took more than just simple strength to get the job done.

"Lesson One!"

The champ yelled, before thrusting her head upwards at the taller fighter, trying to smash him in the nose with a headbutt!

It feels like Domino's off to an early lead, but that quickly reveals itself to be false optimism. Reira's stopped his momentum, and he meets her dead on without flinching. The teen begins to ramp up his effort, the streamlined muscle of his arms flexing, lips pulled back with a growl...

...And then he blinks. Lesson? What lesson?

Bam.

"Agh!"

Domino managed to turn his head just enough to avoid having his nose busted, but it did nothing to lessen the impact. The young model recoils from her, letting her go from his grapple. If she lets him go from the lockup, his left hand will press protectively over his face.

Was that the lesson?! It was already one he'd learned in his match with Kira Malcolm! And that's a lesson he reiterates to her now, "No one wins with a headbutt."

Eyes watering from the impact, Domino tries to keep the pressure on and comes back at Reira. His right knee thrusts up, hoping to nail the veteran in the abdomen.

"OOF!"

Reira gasped, taking a knee into her abs, her headbutt not stunning him like she expected. She grinned. Good. This kid had fight in him, this was going to be more fun than she had expected.

While standing, she kicked her leg out and up high, perhaps not quite flexible enough to hit his face, but at least catching him in the chest with a classic "big boot" kick, looking to take him off his feet.
