It has come to my attention that my RP idea making and skill aren't exactly up to par with many of my peers, a friend of mine pointed this out and I have decided to seek advice from you all and nip this problem in the bud.

Also I will no longer be taking any matches or RP's besides the ones I'm already involved in until further notice.

What I'm looking for is advice on how to improve my RP skill overall, like how to portray my wrestlers and when to place thoughts and feelings. If anyone will reply here then I will be grateful thanks.

My first word of advice is to practice. Don't just go through the motions but work hard to improve with each match, each post, each sentence. Self-evaluate and consider if what you're doing is fun for both you AND your rp partner, and if it is the best you can do.

communication is key. make sure you understand what you want out of an rp or match and, maybe more importantly, what your rp partner wants out of a match. RPs are in many ways a trust exercise. You're partner is trusting you to take care of their character and in return you should expect that they will do the same.

Some matches require that you make your partner's character look good. Other's require that they make yours look good, whether it be to push a new heel or put over a face. Selflessness in rping will get you a long way on this site and it's always good to accrue that sort of goodwill with your rp partners. If you're just leeching off them and using them to try and get wins, etc. or letting them do the same for you, no one's going to win in the long run.

Ask for advice. This thread is a really good start. If you're worried about something you've written, ask a third party to objectively critique what you've done. it will allow you to see the good things and bad things you're doing.

I think remember that you're writing a character who is playing a role in a story, and that the focus of that story is not always your character. Learn to be a supporting actor and to enhance other people's stories.

But true, communication is key with your RP partner, talk, discuss, see what you and your partner both want from the RP or storyline as a whole, one off or a taster of chemistry to come.~

Okay I appreciate all the advice given here, now when I request a match I will discuss the start, end and potential for a story afterward.

I think I'll open myself up for matches and other RP's once I've done my match with Reaver, if anyone would like to examine it and give feedback via PM then I'd take it onboard. Any matches that I'm currently involved with will be added to once it's my turn. Thanks and also anyone can add to this topic as extra advice is always welcome

I might uncancel our match someday if I feel like it to continue it, plus you should take note of how Ryan can take a steel knuckle to the face and just shrug it off like it was nothing even though something like that shouldn't be possible.

Truth be told Cybeast, I find it best to just delete that match and try something else but that'll wait till the morning. Maybe we can have a different sort of match another time.

Also Ryan shrugged that steel fist off because 1 he was beaten by his abusive Father on a regular basis so he developed a very high pain threshold. Second Ryan was getting into his dark savior mindstate, but a broken wrist saw to that getting nipped. " title="Smile" /> But I think I did an unacceptable break from reality there I will admit.

Here's the thing.

We're called 'Anime Female Wrestling', but as far as actual matches go, we're supposed to be more realistic than the average anime.

No matter how much he got beat, I seriously doubt someone could just shrug off steel knuckles to the face.

And as far as the 'dark savior mindstate' goes? Sorry dude, but just because you switch your state of mind, that doesn't magically give a character the power to shrug off attacks.
