Mon Oct 16, 2017 11:31 pm by kiranar

I am looking for matches for most of my characters or rps they are all links listed. I am also looking for an opponent for Celeste see Carpathian impaler for profile and Emerald Moons for an opponent or opponents for avalanche ppv event. I prefer atm non hentai matches, but I may make exceptions for some characters depending on the idea.

Leaving AFW

Sun Oct 15, 2017 2:20 am by Winner3

Several months back, I had quietly left without saying a formal goodbye and I wanted to take the time to do that now. I apologize to those I have left hanging on threads. And more importantly, I apologize for disappearing without having said much of anything.

As far as excuses go, nothing majorly traumatic or life-changing went on. Rather, several members have been pretty hostile to me during my time at afw. In my time here, I've been lied to, ignored, berated, talked down to, called names, …

Italian, 25, Athletic, Seeking Partner

Fri Oct 13, 2017 1:33 pm by scorn53

No. Sadly not that sort of partner.

She already has one. Or two.

Testing the waters to see if I can find any interest of my rarely used main Diana Accera. Sparring partner, training partner, tag team partner. Any and all.

PM Me folks. Peace out~

Mind you, it's not about giving as much as you get, it's about writing a match and not stepping on your opponent. Sometimes I find myself frustrated thinking "WHY WONT YOU JUST BEAT THE FUCK OUT OF TAYLOR???!?!?!" Sometimes people just don't go for the throat when I wish they would. Other times, if I land two moves in a row they start crying about it being unfair. It's lose-lose most of the time.

If you have a partner you trust, you can go deeper. It's true everywhere.

Ah, I ruined it.

NEWS FLASH: the Archergurl who you speaking of is not part of AFW anymore and she's currently working in production for new game titles in Japan. I'm her Canadian friend who she gave her PC due to mines has crashed. She was nice enough to give it to me to help a friend in need. So she got a spared one that she uses for the things I've mention above. BTW, Anegge and Alexandra be sure to check the E-mail adresses carefully. As Archergurl and me aren't the same thing.

May the Force be with you?

I think something else of note to mention, is that godmodding should not begat godmodding. If someone starts powerplaying the hell out of you, it doesn't help any to do it in return to them.

I don't see why it's necessary to the matches to be an constant exchange of attacks.
If it does, they all get boring for following the same formula over 5-10 pages:

"My character feels the hit, it hurts, somehow manages to escape then uses a suplex/bostoncrab/lowblow while smiling"

Wrestling is not like a pokemon game, get hurt and then hurt, get hurt and then hurt. It's totally about someone screwing the other until it recovers and then go for a comeback, screws the other, then there's a comeback and so it goes on.

EDIT: For counters and defenses, I use Kelsea's formula in competitive matches: every three attacks of my opponent, I succeed in dodging/blocking/countering one. And every three defense attempts of my opponent, I fail to land a move in one. Unless of course the attack of my opponent or the counter attempt is unpractical, totally incorrect or physically impossible.

It's not necessary. You're missing the point a little. This isn't a critique on style.

Some people seem to think different.

I land two moves in a row they start crying about it being unfair. It's lose-lose most of the time.

Landing two moves in a row isn't godmoding or powerplaying. And even if it WAS, that's besides the point. Consistency is the issue here.

Re: Godmoding and Powerplaying

Just to clarify a couple of points so there is no misinterpretation about what we mean:

[quote="Tatyina":3h1mq8sn]Constantly no-selling

This means that your wrestler has taken an attack but you have failed to register the correct amount of damage done and how it would effect your wrestlers reactions. When you don't sell your opponents attacks, it constantly gives the impression that your wrestler is still fresh despite taking damage and/or it can quickly turn the momentum of the match your way. The two most common ways this can be done to my knowledge is for example:

1. Your opponent attempts a suplex, in your next post you have your girl take the suplex but she smiles and/or shrugs it off cause it didn't really hurt her much.
2. Your opponent attempts a suplex, in your next post you have your girl take the suplex, get hurt, but in the same post she gets back up and/or attacks right back at ya

The important thing to note is that *continuous* use of these are power gaming

[quote="WrestlerAngel":3h1mq8sn]I don't see why it's necessary to the matches to be an constant exchange of attacks.

I don't understand where you are getting this from.. In fact, if you WERE always taking an attack and immediately dishing out one of your own... Then this is what we are considering as "subtle" power gaming because you are not selling your opponents moves properly (As per the second example above). *MOST* times you take a hit, the majority of your post should be centered around actually GETTING HIT (by which I mean that you shouldn't write half a post on getting hit and then the other half on making an attack back each time you take an attack).

If I try to take 3 solid hits before attacking or countering but my opponent returns my attacks immediately +50% of the time they get hit... Can you guess who's going to win? People who do this have to ask themselves, is it more important that your character wins? or that BOTH you and your opponent enjoys the match? If you care about winning ahead of having an enjoyable match with your opponent, you don't really share the spirit of how I or most people intend AFW to be.

[quote="Tatyina":3h1mq8sn]Constantly going on the defensive with intent to counter attack

[quote="WrestlerAngel":3h1mq8sn]Staying on the defensive waiting for a chance to counterattack isn't godmoding, it's a fighting strategy, or even style.

There is a distinct difference between someone playing a character that likes to be defensive so that they can counter attack... and a MEMBER making their character constantly defend so that they can avoid getting hit whenever they like and force an attack which is almost always uncounterable. The latter is a form of power gaming which controls the flow of the match and keeps the momentum on your side, quite often the *intention* by the member doing this is to force their opponent down a one way ally. If you ARE playing a character that just happens to prefer being defensive, you have to be careful to still take pretty much as many hits as any other wrestler would
