Spy Games

After Mamouru and Cassie parted, Mamouru stalked around for Hitomi, who he was sure was nearby. He wondered, though, if she had actually watched the movie they went and saw and if she could handle it. When he found her, he asked her if they could meet up and talk for a while. He was looking to cap off the day of work with a nice relaxing evening with a cutie of a girl as well as possibly get some more info on Drake. if he was lucky, he would be doubly successful and he wondered if Hitomi was more susceptible to his charms than Megumi had seemed to be.

Hitomi wasn't even trying to hide. She followed Cassie and Mamoru around, blending in with the crowd for most of the day while the two of them had fun, keeping an eye on them even though she was out of sight. It was fairly amusing watching them together, but kinda boring as well. When Drake told her about spying, she imagined it to be a bit more glamorous than just sitting around.

But now Mamoru and Cassie had seperated for the night, which left Hitomi only with a report to Drake, which had only taken a few moments. Now Hitomi waited for Mamoru to find her, knowing that he was looking for her. She made it fairly easy as well, standing underneath a streetlight as she waited for him to pick her up.

Mamouru whisked himself quickly over to Hitomi's side and greeted her pleasantly. "Hitomi-chan!" He said with a smile. "Nice to see you again. I hope you had a good day." He then bowed. "I apologize if you had to have a ruined day. Let me make it up to you?" He offered. "I know a place where we can go have a few drinks if you'd like. There are some things I want to ask you as well."

Hitomi smiled pleasantly at Mamoru when he came over to her. "You didn't ruin my day at all Higurashi-kun. What you two were up to today was pretty amusing," she said. She pretended to hesitate when Mamoru offered to take her out. "Ahh, but wouldn't it be a bad idea for the spy to go out with her target?" she said cheekily, "I might end up as one of Mamoru Higurashi's Bond girls-- what would Drake think?" She giggled, offering Mamoru her hand. "I'm just kidding. Lead the way Higurashi-kun."

mamouru smiled at Hitomi as she spoke. Suggesting that she could be a bond girl was right up Mamouru's alley. Almost, perfectly. That 007 was quite an inspiration to the young Higurashi when it came to matters of love. He was about to say something to that effect when she told him it was a joke. He smiled and laughed politely and took her hand, giving it a gently squeeze and feeling the softness of her skin. He looked into her eyes briefly and then began to leave. "Alright then, let's be off."

He would escort Hitomi to a small place off the beaten path. It was a cozy restaurant that Mamouru could get access to drinks at and which played some pretty decent music and had a room to dance. Half club is what he called it some time. The best of both worlds really. After they settled into a booth, Mamouru turned and looked at the server and ordered drinks for the both of them, Mamouru taking a Sake, and Hitomi whatever she wanted. "So, Hitomi-chan." Mamouru said to break the ice.

"How long have you been working for Drake-san?"

Hitomi let Mamoru lead the two of them to the small restaurant, approving of his choice. It seemed like a nice clean place, and it wasn't all that busy as well. She settled down, taking off her sunglasses so she could see a bit better in the dim lighting and setting it in her handbag. When the waiter can around, Hitomi ordered a martini, rattling off a list of ingredients and preparation procedures, finishing with a curt "Shaken, not stirred," as another homage to Bond while the slightly hapless waiter struggled to get everything down. When he left, Hitomi turned to Mamoru and smiled.

"There, he won't be back for a while, she said, "We can talk freely now." She frowned when Mamoru's first question was about Drake. "Ahh, Higurashi-san, talking about work isn't a proper thing to do when you're on a date, Hitomi chided, "But since you asked, I've been with him for less than a year. A talent agency picked me up out of my maika training several years back, and Drake bought out the company a year ago, and then he began directly managing me shortly after."

Mamouru was impressed with Hitomi's ordering skills and amused that she even managed to quote a little Bond. When she addressed him, Mamouru's eyebrows raised. "Oh?" He asked. "So we're on a date, then?" He asked and reached out to take a hold of her hand.

He listened curiously as she explained. "Oh, I see. That's interesting. And what got you into wrestling?" He smiled. "It seems like a girl with your charm and grace would enjoy something other than beating up other girls. Not that it's such a bad living, of course, but a beauty like you could be quite famous if you were serious about being an idol, for example."

"Isn't that what you'd like?" Hitomi asked, "Unless you want this to be all business. But that would be boring." She let Mamoru take her hand, but didn't squeeze back, content to tease him a little and let him know that while she was open to his advances, he was going to need more work.

"How did I get started wrestling?" Hitomi said, "Well, there's not too much of a story there. I was offered to join in as a wrestler after I joined the company, and I accepted." She paused for a moment. "You must realize, I'm not an idol. I'm a performer, and I've been trained to use the traditional Japanese instruments. There's not too much of a market for that, even for the extremely talented ones, which I am not. Doing this helps out a bit."

Mamouru smiled at Hiromi's words. "Yes, that would be boring indeed." He added. Despite Hitomi's lack of Story about her joining wrestling, Mamouru was actually pretty fascinated. "Are Idols not performers as well? Many of them sing and play instruments. If you have a talent, you have to market it. Find a way to make it popular it incorporate it into something that IS popular. There are groups that manage to make the shamisen a relevant instrument despite the fact that it is a bit outdated. They do so by playing modern style music with it and not just the traditional Japanese folk songs."

He looked over Hitomi. He had seen some of her matches and she just didn't seem cut out to be a genuinely competitive wrestler no matter which way he sliced it. She was gimmicky, at best, and knew she wasn't utilizing her full talents. "Wrestling seems like quite a stretch from performing." He then paused. What sort of performances do you do?" He asked.

"Oh, I didn't mean that idols aren't performers," Hitomi said, "It's more of the media they produce. They're more suited to a popular taste, like pop stars or something. I'm a traditional performer, so I cater to a different market. It's not about using traditional instruments and traditional dances to perform either. There's a certain quality that traditional performance has over idol performance, and it's not for everyone." Hitomi paused for a moment, as if thinking of the right way to say what came to her mind.

"Plus it's not an easy thing to do," she continued, "Mastery of traditional dance takes entire lifetimes, and proper use of those instruments is more difficult that it seems. And trying to break into the monopolies the old houses have over the market is impossible. As for me? Well, I decided to buck the system and leave to make my own fortune. Being a geisha is far to stuffy of a life for me."
