Lightning Tournament Semifinals: Akiha Kosha Vs. Gabbie Desjardin

Gabbie breathed in and out as she stood at the entrance ramp waiting for her music to start. She had seen the match against her opponent but it hadn't given her much to go on. She had some good ideas but really wasn't able to study up too much more on her and, unfortunately, the girl she had been matched up against didn't seem to have too much to offer.

Gabbie pulled the hood of her robe over her head. Gabbie certainly had plenty to offer. As her music began to play, she stepped into the arena. She'd gotten some cheers but still being relatively new, the response was not too much beyond the clap anyone would get plus a little more for the tenacity she had shown so far.

That didn't matter too much to her. Whether they loved her, hated her or were indifferent, Gabbie would compete and give everything she had every match. She shadowboxed down the ramp, dressed in her pink shorts, with white tank top spotted with multicolored polka dots and trimmed in pink. She wore pink MMA gloves and had a white scarf in her hair that was also pinned back with barrettes. Over that was a long, white boxer's robe that was trimmed in blue with a blue maple leaf and the word DESJARDIN embroidered on the back.

When she was in the ring, she got to her corner and let her hands drop to her sides as she waited for her opponent to enter the ring, er bare feet softly padding up and down on the canvas.

It was time for another match but this wasn't a normal match, this was the semi-finals of the lightning tournament.  Akiha had won her first match in the tournament but so had her opponent.  Thus, both of them had proven their worth and the raven hair wrestler knew this wouldn't be an easy match.  Still she was going to give it her all, after all if she won this match she would make it to the finals of the lightning tournament.  The simple idea of making it to the finals was enough to get Akiha pump up and excited for this match.

Her theme song then started to play and Akiha would step out, with her water bottle in hand as the crowd booed her.  It wasn't anything new, the Japanese wrestler had been booed before several times due to the fact that she was a heel.  Her water bottle didn't contain water but instead had a liquid similar to pepper spray that Akiha used to perform her red mist attack, one of the many things that made her a heel.  The raven hair wrestler simply made her way down to the ramp and towards the ring, wearing her usually wrestling attire of her white leotard.

Akiha would slide into the ring, bellow the bottom rope, not doing anything fancy.  As she picked herself up she would take a good look at her opponent before making her way to the center of the ring and offering her hand to shaken.  “Greetings, I am Akiha, let us give the crowd a good show.” she stated in a friendly manner as she waited for her blond opponent to make a response.

Gabbie watched Akiha come down the ramp under the veil of her pulled over hood. She was still sizing the girl up, thinking about the best way to go about ending the match but Gabbie knew that with her skill set, any match she was in could be over with in one exchange.

Once Akiha was in the ring, Gabbie shrugged off her robe and handed it to the ring. She stepped up to the dark haired girl and looked at the extended hand. Gabbie had a scowl of determination, but her own reverence for the sport demanded she take the hand. She did and gave it a firm shake, looking Akiha in the eye the whole time.

"Gabbie." The Canadian said tersely. "Yeah, good luck." After the shake was over, she turned and bowed to the audience and went back in her corner to await the bell.

Akiha gave a small smile as her opponent accepted her handshake and introduce herself.  “Just know what I am not going hold back and give it my all.” stated the raven hair wrestler as she then made her way to her corner waiting for the bell to ring.  The Japanese wrestler would not wait for long as the bell then rang, indicating the match had started.

Akiha would start to make her way to the center of the ring before raising her arms up and opening her hands. “Care for a test of strength.” stated the raven hair wrestler.  By the looks of her opponent who seemed to also be a bit of a boxer, the Japanese wrestler knew she would probably lose in a contest of strength, well if she played fair that was but she had no intentions of doing so.  Instead when Gabbie got close, the raven hair wrestler would suddenly shift her weight and go for a kick aimed at her opponent chest, trying to get an early lead by using a dirty tactic.

"Me too." Gabbie breathed, barely opening her mouth as she stared down Akiha. As the bell rang, Gabbie naturally brought her hands up in her boxing guard and shimmied cautiously towards Akiha as she raised her hands.

Gabbie shifted her gaze up but she stayed where she was. She was not all that interested in a test of strength, really, even if she might be able to win. However, even before she could protest, she saw Akiha's leg lash out towards her chest. Kicks were definitely something she knew a lot about and while she was too close to back away, she turned her body and leaned into the kick so it crashed against her arm.

"Ngh!"

Gabbie grunted and tried to close the distance with a swift one, two combination aimed at Akiha's pretty face. Gabbie's heart was beating pretty fast at the thought of exchanging blows like she was back in a boxing ring. If this girl really wanted to do that, then Gabbie knew the match would be over rather swiftly.

As her kick connected, Akiha couldn't help but to smile as her little trap had work.  Sure she didn't get the exact hit she wanted but she would take it.  The crowd would boo at seeing a dirty tactic from a heel.

The Japanese wrestler would move forward, attempting to push her advantage but before she could even attempt her next attack, Akiha was hit by two punches right in the face.  The raven hair wrestler had taken punches to the face before but this was different and far more brutal then the punches she had taken.  The audience would cheer at this as Akiha stumbled back and shielded her face, trying to protect herself from further attacks.

Gabbie allowed herself a small smile as her crisp, sharp punches crashed into Akiha. This feeling was so natural to the blonde that she felt like she was gliding on water. As Akiha stumbled backwards, Gabbie planted her foot and swung out her leg in a streaking kick aimed to take out the Japanese girl swiftly, efficiently and brutally.

The two punches to her face were still hurting as Akiha managed to take a few steps back.  She made a mental note to avoid Gabbie punches.  The raven was then hit by a kick to the side of her chest, sending her down to the wrestling mat.  Was her opponent was a kick boxer or something?  Akiha needed to change her tactic, she couldn't hope to match her opponent when it came to brawling, thus she would need to use other kinds of attacks.

The Japanese wrestler would take a second to catch her breath as she was down on the ground.  If Gabbie didn't pounce, Akiha would start to roll away and attempt to get out of the ring in hopes of breaking her opponent momentum and giving her a chance to recover properly.

Gabbie was satisfied with sending Akiha sprawling to the canvas though the kick to the chest was hardly a knockout blow. till, even if she didn't hit the girl's head, a few more like that and the girl might not have much left in the tank to fight back.

Still, if Akiha wasn't out, Gabbie couldn't relent and she chased after Akiha, looking to drive another kick into Akiha's side, this time a fully loaded soccer style kick.
