The Arrival: Abattoir vs. Lucky Uchida

Having gotten Lucky slightly off the ground, Abattoir was about to feel very pleased with herself when she unexpectedly met with some resistance, followed by a shift in their momentum and both of them flying awkwardly over the top rope.

She hung on like a cat trying to avoid the bathtub, drew back an arm, and was just about to elbow her opponent right in the jaw when their shifting weight and the precariousness of their position caused her to lose her grip, sending her plummeting to the floor. Lucky was left holding on, to skin the cat or whatever else she wanted.

Abattoir was not quite so fortunate. The floor was padded, but that didn't make bouncing off it much more pleasant. She pushed herself up to her knees, shaking her head violently (rather like a dog killing a rat) and clearing out the cobwebs. It'd take a second or two to recover, and then she'd be back on the attack.

Lucky held onto the top rope for a moment, dangling from her position until she was sure she could let go safely. She then dropped down to the outside of the ring as the ref put her hands up in the air to begin the count. She wasn't so concerned about that as she watched Abattoir try and recover. It seemed the gas mask wasn't going to protect her from a spill like that. Good to know.

Lucky wasn't going to waist any more time thinking about it and crouched to bend her knees. She then cleared the distance between them and aimed a knee at Abattoir's head to try and keep the girl stunned.

Alright, this was a little more familiar. Abattoir had a second or two to get her bearings - 'on the floor, about to get whacked' was a situation she was more comfortable with than chain wrestling - and then Lucky was on her again.

Well, no pain, no gain. She ducked her head, taking the knee strike on the top of her skull (it hurt, of course, but it was preferable to taking it on the chin, mask or no mask), and grabbed the leg before Lucky could draw it back. Abattoir hopped up to her feet, still holding onto the leg, and twisted in place, trying to sweep Lucky's other leg out from under her and send her to the floor. She had to move fast, lest she eat an enziguri or worse.

"Eh!?"

Lucky's eyes widened as she suddenly found herself hopping on one foot instead of strolling away from a downed Abattoir. She had seen her knee crash into the girl's head and now she was suddenly being grappled?! She was so bewildered that Abattoir was able to sweep out her other leg and Lucky hit the mat mats with a sweaty thud.

"Ngh.."

The crash made her grunt but it also let her put her icy facade back on and she looked at Abattoir once more with cool eyes. She coiled her free leg upclose to her chest and waited to see what the masked girl might do now that she had Lucky's foot.

All right! Success, at last. She had Lucky on her back, stacked up against the guardrail, and now it was time to throw some ground-and-pound. Abattoir held onto the leg and hovered close - just enough to line up her shots accurately, but not quite enough for Lucky to reach her. The perfect distance - and drew back an arm to deliver an elbow strike--

"Six!"

She glanced back at the ref in confusion. Oh no, that was right, they only had a ten-count outside the ring...

"Really?" the nak muay hissed, frustration evident in her voice. It was impossible to get into any kind of rhythm; the second she gained an advantage, her unfamiliarity with the style and ruleset gave that advantage right back to Lucky...such as now, when she was distracted by the ongoing count.

As soon as Abattoir turned her head to look at the referee, Lucky snapped her coiled foot forward, looking to jam her heel as hard as she could into Abattoir's mask. Not that she was looking to damage the mask on purpose or anything, but if the girl wanted to wear the mask then she was going to have to eat the mask whenever Lucky wanted to attack her chin. She wasn't sure if it would serve to protect from or enhance her kick but she didn't really care. If it did the job, that's all that mattered to her.

She would try and roll forward and break free of Abattoir's grip as well and transition from the kick into a jumping European uppercut to keep Abattoir stunned. Hopefully that would be enough to let Lucky get back in the ring before the count expired.

Two shots to the chin in rapid succession dizzied Abattoir, knocking her back against the ring apron while Lucky made her escape.  She was in before the eight-count, but Abattoir, knocked off kilter and thoroughly dazed, didn't recover enough to realize the urgency of her situation until the crowd swelled at the shout of 'nine!'.  Like a cat trying to climb up the side of the bathtub, she scrambled under the ropes and into the ring, making it with less than a second to spare. It was less than dignified.

Contrary to her image, the nak muay had something vaguely resembling a sense of humor (grim though it was), and as she pulled herself up on the ropes, she caught Lucky's eye and chuckled humorlessly.

"Learn by doing, huh?"

A second later, she was pressing the attack again, charging in and throwing a wide-angled lariat.

Lucky was not wanting to give Abattoir a moment of respite as she bounced on her heels and waited for the masked girl to come into the ring. She was surprised, however, at the quip and that, along with the referee's insistence of giving Abattoir some room, had Lucky back far enough to keep Abattoir at bay and able to charge at her with a lariat.

Ironic was the woman's choice of words, however. Lucky looked to duck under the lariat and spin around to catch Abattoir by the waist once more. A familiar position for them both already but Lucky wasn't going to spend it hugging. If she could lock hold of the masked girl's waist, she would try and heave her up and into a German suplex.

Once again, Abattoir charged in, once again, she ate a suplex counter, and this time there was no rolling backwards to lessen the impact - which thoroughly knocked the wind out of her. She landed squarely on both shoulders and bounced off the mat, eventually coming to a halt on her side.

She was stunned for the moment. If left to her own devices, she'd create some distance between herself and Lucky in hopes of getting up, but that didn't look particularly likely at the moment.

Lucky bounced with the impact of the suplex and the rattling of the ring. It felt good to remain in control. Now all she had to do was clip Abattoir's wings and, hopefully, she could cruise to a victory.

Lucky spun around and looked to drop her butt onto the small of Abattoir's back so that she couldn't get away. If she could manage that, then she would try and yank up one of the masked girl's legs and fit it snugly under her armpit, attempting to go for the half Boston crab.
