Tokyo Bound

John continued to look at Cassie as she was apparently being modest. It was still a little hard to believe that this girl was the one whoâ€d sent another person to the hospital like that. But the ‘modesty†may have been some sort of discomfort. John wasnâ€t sure how to react. “Iâ€d say so.” He said back to Clyde. “Iâ€m sure your taking a break after that, though. It must have been mad draining.” He said to Cassie.

Cassie would've laughed if she could've. Any normal person would've taken a break after that match, but Lukretia wasn't normal, and neither was she, apparently.

"No, I have another match this week." She ate a bite of oatmeal. "I'm... sure it'll be fine. It's against Bunny Bomber. She's..." She glanced up at John, and quickly back down again. "Big. But she's not very good. I'll beat her."

Clyde's eyes lit up at the mention of Bunny Bomber. "Aw man, Bunny Bomber. She's hot, man." Clyde stated enthusiastically to John like he forgot Cassie was sitting right beside him, but he gave her a friendly nudge with his elbow. "I'll still be rootin' fer' ya, kid." He said with a grin before looking at John.

"Ey John, who you fightin' next, man?" He asked curiously.

John couldnâ€t help but chuckle, “Never seen her, but Iâ€ll take your word for it. Iâ€ll watch the match.” John smiled a bit, taking a sip of his water whole he looked at Cassie. She didnâ€t seem to enthused about getting back into the ring, but the conversation was shifting away from that anyway.

“Uhh…probably this girl named Aoi, sheâ€s advanced in the tournament and from what I hear weâ€re going to be matched. But thereâ€s also a chance someoneâ€s dropping out, which if it does turns out to me…Me vs Aoi vs Dante Sunderland. John said, speaking to both of them. But in his next sentence, he directed it to Clyde. “I think you know Dante from what I understand.”

Clyde's face drooped immediately at the mention of Dante. He felt like he just got slapped upside the head.

"My ex's brother." He groaned.

Cassie gave a smile and tended to her food. She was infinitely grateful for the turn in the conversation. What a relief! She had never heard of Aoi... but she knew of Dante Sunderland, just because he was Heather's brother. She was pretty sure. She'd never met any of them.

Now that the focus wasn't on her, she could sneak glances at John, in between bites of oatmeal and sips of tea and glances at Clyde. He was very well built! He didn't dress nice like Mamouru did, and he didn't have the same kind of charm... but Mamouru wasn't muscular like him. He was quite a strapping guy, and Cassie had to be careful not to look too long.

“Of this, I am aware.” He said to Clyde. For a moment, he thought heâ€d avoid saying how he knew that, because he didnâ€t want to derail the conversation and make it al about him. However, no one offered anything to say after that.

Cassie seemed to just go back to her food, but the big red hear still continued to feel like he was being examined by her, it was a little off putting. He shifted himself a bit in his seat, and then decided he ought to say it now. “You know my friend Amanda, and then we have another friend named Ro in tension, right? Well they apparently met Heather in a friction cross over thing and the three of us became friends with Heather after they introduced her to me. So…yeah.”

"All over the six o' clock news, eh?" Clyde asked sarcastically before John went on to state that He, Amanda and that Ro chick are all great big friends of Heather. Clyde furrowed his brow. How nice.

"Well ain't that dandy." He muttered bitterly. "She ask y'all to sit on her face? Or does she prefer to just use y'alls instead?" He said with noticeable venom in his voice, slurping his soda obnoxiously. He had a few choice words for his ex the next time he saw her. None of them pretty.

"Clyde..." Cassie said softly. She reached over and patted his arm. "It's okay."

She'd never met Heather, but everyone she knew seemed to really not like her. Except this new guy... It occurred to her that she still didn't know his name. She fixed her gaze on him for the first time without trying to immediately look away, and stuck out her hand to him.

"Hi, I'm Cassie. Er..." He knew that. She knew that he already knew that. She didn't have a free hand to do it, so she mentally slapped a palm against her forehead.

John sighed, he had expected some negativity but not like that. He leaned back a bit, looking to the two of them. “Heatherâ€s a friend of my friends, thatâ€s what I know about her. Iâ€ve only seen her a couple of times, and never without my other friends.

John was more than a little put off by this reaction, but it wasnâ€t upsetting him quite yet. He did want to put the conversation to a new direction, though. “Frankly, I donâ€t want to get involved with anything. I was telling you now in case it ever came up somehow. Besides, from what I hear she barley goes near Tension anymore.” John paused, sighing. In any event, Cassie seamed to be trying to calm him down. Hopefully that would work.

In addition to calming him down, Cassie seamed to reintroduce herself. While wondering whys he did that, it occurred almost as an afterthought that she might have forgotten when Clyde gave her his name. “John Mitchel, pleased to meet you.” He said. Heâ€d have shook her hand, but she was otherwise occupied.
