Contendership Match Kayla Kirisa vs. Akashi Tanikaze

Akashi had been watching Kayla and would have been suprised he the fairly well telegraphed slap would have landed. She couldn't keep Kayla from barrelling into her but she did try and use her free hand to wrench Kayla's head by the hair up underneath her arm so that even if Kay ended up on top of her, Akashi still had her in a headlock.

Kayla's forward momentum would indeed take both of them to the mat. Yet she hadn't expected to be drawn into a headlock, which made falling to the mat quite dangerous. She'd cry out when she felt her head strike the mat, the headlock having turned into a DDT. Kayla would try to roll off of Akashi, intending to roll onto her side as she grabbed at her head, kicking her feet in pain.

Akashi was glad she caught Kayla in a DDT and When she rolled away, Akashi let her. She didn't want Kayla on top of her on matter her condition. That didn't mean she didn't follow though. She got to her hands and knees and crawled to a point behind Kayla and reached out to put her in a choke hold from behind.

Kayla would start to thrash when she was put into a choke hold, shutting her eyes as she pried at Akashi's arms, trying to pull free of her hold. "Nnn...Let go!" Kicking off the mat, Kayla tried to throw herself backwards, intent on slamming Akashi back first on the mat.

Akashi was once again put in a position where she was going to be sent reeling. This time she was going to put her strength and the momentum Kayla was creating to just fling Kayla. She would land hard on matter her back and have to lay and pant for a few moments. She hoped the move would at least buy her time to recover.

Kayla was sent away from Akashi, rolling across the mat before she'd come to a stop. Rubbing at her neck, she'd reach for the ropes, using them to help her stand up. This was definately not going as well as she would like. But it was to be expected. Her opponent was certainly tough. Facing Akashi, Kayla would start to run towards her once she started getting up, aiming to clothesline her as she stood up.

Akashi was slow to get up. Mostly taking the time to get her strength back. By the time she was on her feet and facing Kayla, it was too late to avoid the clothes line. the best she could do was to stick her foot out and hoped Kayla tripped over it as she went barreling passed her. Akashi slammed to the ground hard and layed on the ground moaning in a daze.

Kayla couldn't quite avoid the trip, sending her sprawling face first onto the mat. She'd roll onto her back, holding her face as she kicked her feet. That had hurt! She was too occupied now to take advantage of Akashi's position, likely giving her enough time to get back to her feet.

Akashi layed moaning for several seconds before she climbed to her feet and backed away from Kayla. She had slammed her head in the clothes line and reopened the wound that was there. It was something she was trying hard to avoid. Soon Kayla was likely to see blood and Akashi didn't want that weakness exposed. You have to give it all right here and fight to win! Fight till you pass out, you can recover again between rounds but the longer it drags on the more advantage she has. When Akashi finished her pep talk she put on a determined face and charged Kayla, hoping to catch her as Akashi was caught but she wasn't going to run passed her she was charging straightforward, wanting a collision. When she was close she would lift up a knee, hoping to drive it deep into Kayla.

Kayla would slowly draw herself up, rubbing at her face as she got to her feet. Turning to face Akashi, she would ready herself as she saw her opponent charge. But she'd notice that Akashi was bleeding, her eyes widening. She would freeze, wanting to counter Akashi. But she didn't want to hurt that wound even more. Sure it was an advantage.. but not one she wanted to take... This would leave her standing there when Akashi crashed into her, crying out when she felt the knee drove deep into her stomach. She felt the wind knocked out of her, sending her crashing back down to the mat, holding her stomach in pain.
