Syd Vs. Eka Guramishvili

"OK, Syd," Allie said as she gave a last glance at herself in her compact. "This isn't some chump. I think. She has some losses but she was in some rookie thing and wrestled some fuuuugly bitch at Avalanche in front of, like, half a dozen people." Allie put her compact away and grinned at Syd while she waved her hand dismissively.

"Just do your thing. Kicking her ass will help get you the career boost you need." Allie licked her thumb and then wiped a smudge off Syd's cheek like she was her mother. "You look good, Syd. Are you ready?"

"Actually... do I look good?" Allie twirled in front of Syd. "That's really what matters."

"Yeah." Kicking ass was always a good thing.

Syd smacked Allie's hand away from her face. She was focused and ready to fight and wasn't putting up with any bullshit.

"Yeah." Of course she looked good.

"Yeah," she said with a slight hint of a smile. Allie looked good too.

Syd shoved her little teenaged, redheaded manager out of the way when her music began, and stomped through the curtain and onto the entrance ramp. The moment she set foot in the arena, she changed.

Her gloomy stone face lit up and broke into a broad grin. Her unhurried steps became charged and her body became animated. She stomped down the ramp, jeering the fans and making obscene gestures, all the way to the ring. She gave some fans the finger, crudely grabbed her at another, flicked her fingers from under her chin at another. When she entered the ring, she did so to a healthy chorus of boos.

She bounced in place in her corner, watching the top of the ramp to see this girl. She couldn't wait to take her apart.

Eka was feeling good. While she hadn't won at Avalanche, she had done some work. And even if a lot of people didn't see it she had a great match. The Georgian jumped and did a split. Her fists pierced the air with a quick one two and a smile spread across her face. She was feeling loose and fluid and she was ready to hit this woman with everything she had. A little bit of research yielded the fact that this woman was an unrepentant heel and a bit of a cheat. Well, Eka had taken down Shiki. She would have to be a bit wary but not fearful.

Eka walked up to the staging areas. Boos rocked the arena. It was nice to see the fans didn't appreciate a cheater. The music began to fade when a voice boomed over the loudspeaker. "Standing at 5'8 from Birmingham Alabama, Eka Guramishvili!" The swelling strings and booming horns were a far better announcement of her arrival and she waved at the fans and smiled. The woman in the ring cut an impressive figure, and she kept an eye on her as she walked down the ramp. The crowd returned Eka's gesture manyfold, applauding her with great spirit.

The Georgian hopped into the ring and nodded at her opponent. With the simple sign of sportsmanship completed she gave a thumbs up to the ref to show she was ready. Her knees were already bent and her hands were at the ready before the bell even rang. She wouldn't allow Syd to pull a fast one on her. Not by a long shot.

"Good luck." The smile faded from her face. Time to wrestle.

Allie had preened all the way down to the ring. While Syd crudely and rudely made how she felt known, Allie acted like they were cheering their heads off. Obviously they would be if Syd wasn't around. Syd did her job though.

Allie took her spot at the apron as Eka came down. The girl seemed ready for business. So was Allie.

"Syd doesn't need luck." Allie said, as she stuck her tongue out at Eka. "Make her uglier, Syd."

Syd sneered back at her young opponent. She was tall and thin, like Syd, but she carried herself much differently. She'd be a nice change from all the squishy little girls Syd had fought recently.

"Fuck off," Syd spat, and circled out toward the center of the ring. She paced around Eka before stepping in cautiously, her hands up in front for a clinch.

Eka didn't really see the point in being rude in the ring. Sportsmanship was one of the things she tried to uphold and she always tried to respect her opponent. But that is not to say she had to like them. And it was tempting to stick her tongue out at the ringside woman and tell Syd exactly where to stick it, but she held back. Let the wrestling do the talking she thought.

Eka sidestepped like Syd did, trying to find a chink in the armor. The two girls resembled each other in looks quite a bit in the body anyways. Syd advanced forward, looking for a lock-up. Ordinarily, Eka would have accepted; ordinarily she would want to see exactly how strong her opponent was. But a sudden notion occurred to Eka and she put it in motion as soon as it popped into her head. The Georgian ducked down and launched herself forward in an attempt to form tackle her opponent.

The moment Eka came forward, Syd went to snap a kick into her midsection, but instead of catching the Alabaman off guard she found herself unprepared. She wasn't expecting a linebacker.

"Guh!" She folded in half as Eka's shoulder hit her stomach and went crashing down to the mat with a heavy thud. She bucked her hips and tried to shove Eka to the side so she could scramble back to her feet.

Eka heard the thud of the duo hitting the mat and the corners of her lips curled into a slight smile. Score one for Eka. The victory was short lived as Syd shoved her off quickly. Both girls made themselves upright fairly quickly and Eka eyed Syd up and down.

One yard forward was enough to close the gap between them and one leap was enough to bring Eka airborne. The attempt was to get up and over Syd and then twist her to the ground as Eka was on the descent. Flying squirrel takedown, air mail special, to Syd the kid. Eka prayed that Syd wasn't quick on the uptake. Being in the air she could be so vulnerable...

For the second time, Eka didn't go where Syd expected. She cocked a punch for the dark-haired girl's face, but Eka went up and over and after a moment of confusion Syd's arms flailed once before she went tumbling back to the mat.

She kicked her legs to try to roll through and get to her knees, and growled like a feral cat.

"Bitch..."

This woman was indomitable and refused to stay down. It was an admirable quality, sure, but Eka hoped that the woman would stay down. If Eka wanted her to stay down she would have to earn it.

Her heart was really pumping now. The crowd went nuts over the flashy takedown and Eka was buoyed by the energy. Eka surged forward and went airborne once again, this time coiling her legs up to her chest. With the furious grace of a mountain eagle she struck out with both of her legs, trying to hit any part of her kneeling opponent she could. Calling Eka a bitch was unnecessary. Hopefully the double legged drop kick would set the record straight.
