Damsel In Distress

"Oh, you're in Hamamatsu?" Taylor hadn't realized. She figured she was in Tokyo. "Okay, that's cool. Um..."

She paused. It'd make sense just to meet at her house, but... the talk with Johnny made her hesitate. Was it risky to let her so close to their home? But she wasn't a wild animal, and...

Fuck it. "Meet me at my place, we'll ride together. Do you know anything about, like, electronics and stuff? I'm still pretty computer-stupid and stuff like that. I thought maybe you'd know more than me about that stuff.

"Well, anyway, just meet me here. See you in a bit."

"Yeah. it's kind of stupid to be in Tokyo when you want me to fetch you some coffee, isn't it?" She said with a bit of sass in her tone. She was getting paid by Taylor but she never really treated the girl like an appropriate boss. The last one, and technically still her current, was used to being called Mistress and having her in formal maid attire."I know some stuff here and there. It's not like I'm a webmaster or soemthing, but I can use word and stuff. it's not that hard, really." She added. "Anyway, I'll be over in a bit." She said and hung up the phone. It would take her about ten minutes before she was at Taylor's house, ringing the doorbell.

In the meantime, Akashi had finally gotten to a point where she had checked her phone and saw Taylor's text. Akashi hadn't really spoken to Taylor about it but she couldn't say she was thrilled. But Taylor seemed to know what she was doing and if someone told her it was a bad idea, she'd just be inclined to do it more. And faster.

She thumbed out a quick reply:

Not any more or less crazy than anything else you do, Imouto-chan " title="Wink" />

Taylor hung up the phone, turned over and put her face in her pillow, and cried until the doorbell rang.

She sprung off the bed and flew to the bathroom, drying her face and touching up her makeup. She had to at least look like she had it together, instead of looking like some emotional, knotted up and confused little kid with no place in the business world or in wrestling who should really just ask her husband before she did anything. She felt like anything but what she had been trying to convince herself and everyone else that she was.

But when she opened the door, Morrigan was faced with a headstrong, capable young woman who didn't take any shit. Taylor raised her hands and made a face.

"Where the fuck is the coffee? Remind me why I pay you?" She grabbed her jacket and locked the door on the way out. She pressed the unlock button on her car's remote with her phone in her other hand. "Get in the car, I have to handle this."

Morrigan didn't need to know that she was just replying to Akashi.

"I drank it." Morrigan said, turning her head with a bored shrug. She never even bought any coffee. Taylor didn't need to know that though and Morrigan didn't really care. She just slid into the car when Taylor unlocked it, buckled up and crossed her arms. The car was nice enough, but no where near what she had been used to with Lukretia. She leaned back and closed her eyes while she waited for Taylor.

"You can't be making offers to me like that anymore. You're married!"

Akashi thumbed back in a giggling fit.

When Taylor entered, Morrigan didn't even open her eyes. "So, Tay, where are we going?" She asked. She hoped Taylor wasn't annoying enough to say "the shopping center" or something snarky like that. She addded a follow up. "What do you need to buy?"

Egh. Akashi wasn't helping.

Taylor got in, buckled up, started the car, and pulled out onto the Hamamatsu streets. She didn't respond to Morgan's incessant attempts to piss her off with that stupid nickname.

"Do you ever go to the movies?" She asked serenly. "I can remember going with my dad. Ya know, just a few times, really. Just a way to see me outside the house and away from my mom where we didn't have to talk that much, so I wouldn't realize how little he really knew about me. When they were still together, we never went. We didn't have the money." She paused while she waited to turn. "I liked action movies. We saw The Incredibles, and both Spider-Man movies. The first two, anyway."

She glanced over at Morgan. "I guess you and Brittany probably don't just go out and have fun or anything, but you weren't born in her living room. What was the last movie you saw in the theater?"

"Well, sometimes." Morrigan said as she listened to Taylor. She turned her head, opened her eyes and glanced at the scenery. "It's not like I can do my thing twenty four-seven. Even Lukretia gave me time off." Morrigan turned her head back to look in her peripheral. "All the theatres here just show annoying Japanese shit and stupid anime. But, I did manage to find a theatre showing The Artist. It's as good as those Oscar twats said it was. But, I guess that's the last movie I saw."

Morrigan paused. "Lilith isn't very interesting outside of AFW." She added, almost as an afterthought. She then decided to further her statement. "Not that you are either, really. But, I guess it's a different kind of boring." She said with an even tone, not flashing her usual sarcastic smile.

"The silent movie?" Taylor's eyes lit up and she looked over at Morgan. "So you're into movies? Are you like a film buff or whatever?" She smiled her way through the next traffic light and signaled to merge onto the highway. "That's awesome."

Of course, Morrigan had to take a shot at her. Well, maybe it wasn't really a shot, maybe Taylor really was boring to her. Maybe Morrigan was just missing the part of her brain that told her not to be a dick. Maybe she didn't know what a dick was. Half the girls in Friction didn't.

"I know what you mean, though," she nodded. "About everything. Brittany's got the personality of a canker sore, and all I do is train and fight and deal with business stuff. But that's where you came in, right? I'm still getting used to the idea that I can take more time for other stuff, but you've already been a big help, so thanks for that." She kept her eyes on the road.

"But I know what you mean about the theaters here, too, so that's why I'm going to put a little theater in the basement. I think I want to get some stuff to put in Johnny's room at mom's house, too, but, like, I thought it'd be cool to have a place to actually watch stuff. Like a place to go that isn't a gym. And I'm not really worried about price, so you get to help me pick out the best stuff we can find."

"Yeah, that one." Morrigan said, turning her head back towards the window. "Not.. kinda?" She said. "I like some movies. I like art films and old movies and... I'm not a buff." Morrigan said, blushing.

"She's an idiot." Morrigan said flatly. "I like fucking her. And... I like other things she has to offer too, but her personality is a bit monotonous."

Morrigan blushed again. "Yeah, yeah." She said, waving her hand at Taylor. "It's not like I'm doing it out of the kindness of my heart. If you're going to be dumb enough to give me you're money, why wouldn't I take it? Besides," Mortigan said, looking at Taylor and smiling. "You're not that huge of a tool."

Morrigan adjusted her classes. "Well, that's pretty cool. I've never really went shopping for that stuff before. But, you're just going to mess with Johnny's room? Isn't that Junko's call? I mean that IS her house."

Taylor tamed her smile, but inside she was all righteous, maniacal glee. Take that, Johnny-and-everyone-else-who-wrote-Morgan-off! She was a real girl after all!

She looked over at the redhead with a sincere smile. "Morgan," she said in here most sincere of sincere tones. "That's the nicest thing you've ever said to me." She drew a tear down her cheek with one finger.

"Why are you so worried about the bedroom, huh? Are you thinking about getting me in bed? Better women have tried, homegirl. And yeah, it's Junko's house, but I-we stay there when I'm in Tokyo. I don't think she'll mind. I don't think Johnny'll mind, either, if he just found more awesome-er stuff in his old room." Hm. Should she ask him about it? She thought it'd be a nice surprise.

She pulled into a parking space outside of a strip mall, with a massive electronics store in the middle. From her one search online, she thought this would be the best place in Hamamatsu to look. She zipped her coat up all the way and braved the cold again on the way to the store.

Morrigan raised her eyebrow at Taylor. "What? That you're not the hugest tool around? You've got issues." She said and turned her head again. "And if I wanted to fuck you, I wouldn't waste the effort dragging you to a bed. Get over yourself."

Morrigan just ignored Taylor about the Johnny stuff. If she wanted to mess up his old room in her mom's house, then what did Morrigan care?

She slid out of the car when Taylor put it in park and followed her to the store. "So, are you thinking home theatre or just a big ass flat screen?"
