Creating Characters

Trying to work up my first character. My method so far has been to find a picture I like and then build a persona around that, instead of trying to search for a pic to match a character. I'll probably work on it later today or tomorrow, and... I dunno. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas. Feel free to toss out concepts you've had that you wouldn't mind seeing me try pathetically to implement and use.

and there are plenty of things we don't have.

Maybe if you are having trouble you could alway do this:

Pick an occupation and then pick a country and mesh the two together.

or look at teh other characters and see what is there and try and find out what is not.

but then, there is more than one way to play a heel or face

i regularly check gellbooru and 4chan's ecchi sections, and while i'm at it i have a folder where i tuck away pictures that look like they have a character to them, or even just a story to tell or an original look to them. then if a concept that hasn't been used comes up, i browse through and see what fits


ideas that haven't been used though.... we have a damn lot of characters, even just from me alone... not a lot of plump/bigger girls, and i have most of the mature ones. don't think there's been any barbarian/tribal/viking sort of chicks, though i could easily be wrong. raised by wolves or something? don't think we've done blind or mute or anything, if you wanted to get that crazy


while Sasha's a tough brawler type, don't believe we have a hard-drinking drunken boxer or an Irish/scottish brawler. i've been sitting on the idea of doing a girl who's marked with about a dozen large scars, giving her a vaguely ugly look for her otherwise attractive body


hell, if you wanted to get crazy, you could make a girl based on one of those girls from that dating sim game that's coming out next year. the one where every girl you can date is handicapped somehow (no arms, prosthetic legs, def, blind...)

You don't have to worry about being original with your characters. So long as you have good ideas, don't godmode, and play your character fair, you'll fit right in. As for what I would do, just make a character you're more familiar to playing with for now. New ideas will come to you soon, and you're always free to test them out here. If you don't like it, you can scrap the character and redesign her if you want. Really though, this site is more about having fun, and making plots and stories that can intrigue others. Or is it the shameless hentai that happens here? Hmm... oh well. Anyways, if you're really having trouble, you can do what some of us do, myself included, and start browsing through various photos we have up under the Pics and Clips subforum.

Thanks for the advice, and just the general response, I definitely feel welcomed into the community now. I already have one character sort of half-brewing in my mind but nothing's certain yet. I admit I am kind of interested in the concept of a character who's blind or deaf, maybe I'll do something with that.

Now to find a pic for that... heh, it'll probably just have to be a girl wearing sunglasses or something I can explain about. Time to get to work.

Well, my first character is up. I tried to put it through the whole works for detail, I hope she's acceptable.
