Beat the Clock Challenge Match 2: Blossom Fields Vs. Angel

Lukretia watched as Sandalwood exited the ring and then sat back in her time keeper's booth. She no longer needed the stopwatch. The timer on the AFWtron would count down and it would start as soon as the new entrant stepped into the ring and introduced herself.

The next challenger needed no introduction. With the sound of her theme hitting the arena's speakers, everyone knew that it could only mean the arrival of one person...

Wearing her usual big, cocky grin, the champion Angel appeared from the backstage, her title wrapped tight around her waist. She wasted no time at all heading down the ramp towards the ring, raising her arms as she walked, basking in the cheers of her fans. She was feeling good. She was still riding high on her win against Taylor, and was ready to add on another one tonight, even if it was against a total newbie.

She reached the ring and climbed on in, slipping off her belt and passing it to the referee, then she turned to Blossom, giving her a a grin, staring towards her. No words for her, not yet at least, just the intent, focused stare of the champion, ready for the sound of the bell to start off the match.

Blossom very rarely cursed. It wasn't because of her religion or upbringing, it just was somethin she never cared to do. She always sounded weird when she swore, like a little kid who was just repeating words she'd heard elsewhere. She could probably count all the times she'd used certain four letter words, and it wouldn't take all that long.

When she heard Angel's theme and realized who her real opponent was, she decided this would be one of those times. "Oh, shit."

Blossom's eyes became saucers as the champ - the Friction World Champion - made her way down to the ring and stood there, right in front of her. Ready to fight.

”I...I…” She stood there for a moment, looking for all the world like a deer in the headlights. She saw the look in Angel’s eyes and cringed as she came to a realization: she was about to go through the single most painful minute of her entire life. If she even lasted that long.

Say something. Say something. “...hi?” She crouched down into her squared stance, slowly bending into it.

The bell rang, and Blossom could have sworn it sounded like a death knell.

Angel only grinned at Blossom, trying not to laugh at how nervous the girl seemed. She really couldn't blame her at all for it. She was new, and it was a natural thing to be shocked and in awe in a situation like this.

It didn't mean Angel was going to go easy on her, though!

"Hi, chica," Angel called back to her, keeping a friendly tone in her voice. "And...bye, chica!" she cheerfully called, just as the bell rang. The moment she heart the sound, she lunged straight towards Blossom, the Latina quickly raising her leg as she neared her, swinging it through the air towards the side of the newbie's body. A single, swift kick, aimed right towards Blossom. Angel was looking to end this hard, and end this fast. She was the champion, after all. She had to make a good showing and show these newbs how to do things right!

So fast. So fast!

Blossom's hands went up in a poor attempt at defense as Angel closed the gap with blazing speed and alacrity. She didn't even know what to properly defend against. Angel could do so many things. A little sweep? Maybe a kick to the stomach? A clothesine? A punch? Maybe get in close, go for some kind of grapple? She couldn't tell, she couldn't guess, she couldn't read the body language, she couldn't make any move in time and-

A shrill shriek escaped from her lips as Angel's kick crashed into her side. If she hadn't been looking, she would have swore she was hit by a baseball bat instead, the blow was just that hard and fast. A searing pain filled her ribs, one she knew wouldn't be going away for days, and she stumbled towards the ropes. She brought her arms up and ducked her head down like she was trying to protect her body in the middle of a storm. Hurricane Angel.

As Blossom staggered away from her, Angel followed, hot on the heels of the young rookie. If this was a normal match, she might have shown her a tiny bit of mercy, might have given her a chance to recover a bit. But in this match? With that ominous clock looming above? No way in hell was Angel letting up on her.

As Blossom's arms came up, Angel reached for them with her hands. With a sharp jerk, she tried to pull Blossom away from the side of the ring, trying to quickly send her flying with a hard, sudden Irish whip, straight across the ring to the opposite ropes.

Okay, this was a good strategy, right? She'd turtle up and weather the storm, survive Angel's attacks. Sure, pure defense wouldn't win her this match, but at this point she was less concerned about winning and more interested in being conscious when it was all over. Today, she was a turtle, and Angel was going to have wail long and hard to get in her shell!

...unless she just threw her around. That might make things problematic.

Blossom was sent off towards the ropes and bounced back hard. She tried to grab onto the top rope to stop the run, but there was too much momentum and she couldn't get a solid grasp in time. She was going right back towards Angel. And pain. Oh, so much pain. "Not the  face, not the face!"

As Blossom hit the ropes and began to rebound back towards her, Angel took off in her direction, racing right back towards the girl. There wasn't any time to wait for her to come closer, not with the clock ticking down.

She threw up her arm as she approached the running Blossom, intent on taking the girl's head off with a stiff clothesline. When she heard her screaming about her face though, the Latina lowered her arm, trying instead to smash her arm hard into her chest instead. She wasn't completely heartless, after all.

Blossom was no stranger to defeat. As Lukretia pointed out, her career had been a sting of defeats. She was used to losing. She had learned to accept them. She didn't like them, but she tried to take them as opportunities to improve. Bare minimum, she wanted to put up a decent fight. But that wasn't happening here.

Angel's blow hit her hard in the chest and dropped her flat on her back, so hard it shook the ring and rattled the ropes. It was a harsh reminder that she was the heavier girl between them despite being much shorter, for all the good her extra weight and muscle was doing her. As she laid there, grasping battered breasts and moaning, she sure didn't feel all that big.

"Ugh...thanks." She tried to roll over and make her way towards the ropes, desperate for even a moment to breathe.

"Yeah!" Angel roared, as Blossom dropped to the mat, quickly turning back to face her as the girl tried to make her way to the ropes. She stepped forward towards her, and would lean down to grab her arm, trying to pull her back up and onto her feet.

Once she was back up, Angel then would slide behind her, trying to slip her arms around Blossom's waist. The girl seemed pretty rattled already, just from Angel's first two attacks, so she decided she could go for something a little bigger, maybe even finish her off now!

Wrapping her arms tight around her waist, Angel would suddenly try to haul Blossom off of her feet, trying to lift her up and over into one of the Latina's favorite throws, the German suplex!
