[Pendant Match] Ladder: Mayu Vs. Nikolette

Ladder Match
Winning Condition: Whoever retrieves the briefcase suspended above the wing will be declared the winner.
Match Stipulations:
Ladders are legal and are distributed throughout the outside of the ring as well as underneath the ring.
Each Team Member will win the Number of Pendant pieces stated for Participation in the match.

Mayu Hoshino: Team Red Jaguar [½ Pendant]

Nikolette Tessla: No Team, No Pendant

Nikolette was feeling good as she bounced on the balls of her feet backstage. She was just off winning a great match against a tough opponent and after evening up her record, she was looking to turn her first set of back to back victories and push her record clear over .500 with a third straight victory. She let out a sigh as her entrance theme began to play. She clapped her hands and ran out the arena and smiled at the crowd.

She received mild applause. Most of the crowd did not know who she was, but she had been in a lot of matches and her recent appearance on "Conway's Crib" along with her tough win in her last match had brought with it a bit if enthusiasm that hadn't been there previously. Was she actually 'buzzing'? Nikolette certainly wouldn't think so.

However, Nikolette had to stop when she saw the arena and how it was set up. Aside from the briefcase that dangled from the arena ceiling, the entrance ramp and the space around the ring were scattered with unfolded ladders. After taking a breath, she pressed onward and entered the ring. She wasn't intimidated so much as overwhelmed. She had been told she was going to be in this type of match and that she was part of some other spectacle that was going on in AFW. The temple Games it was being called, leading up to Avalanche. But she had already been in cage matches and a handcuff match and fought really tough opponents so she wasn't concerned.

She made her way into the ring and stretched in her corner. Once again she was clad in her dark brown overalls and dark leather work gloves. But she was lacking her usual aviator helmet and goggles. They had been taken by Kelly during the fiasco of a show but Nikolette didn't think of it. She pushed that thought aside because she was really excited to face her next opponent. She had met Mayu during Mayu's first day in Friction and the two had hit it off after a spar. Not only had Nikolette been excited to face the girl for real, she had to admit her thoughts had drifted back to the girl every once in a while since the two met and Nikolette eagerly looked to the entrance way as she awaited her opponent.

The lights would go off afterwards before [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKaJ6SagFJo:wi7m1n1f]Mayu's theme[/url:wi7m1n1f] would play over the speakers. After the flute line ended, the lights returned to the arena before Mayu would appear on the stage's entrance. She was wearing her hooded gray jacket, with the hood pulled back, on top of her usual attire: black tank top and short pants along with a pair of black boots. Mayu would glance over the arena to noticed the scattered ladders before she would start skipping towards the ring.

The short haired girl felt so excited that she might go hyper on the ring. There were a couple of reasons. There was the fact that this would her first ladder match ever. She only watched about it from TV before, so when she actually got into one, Mayu couldn't help but feel like a elementary school kid that's about to go on a field trip. On top of that, she was facing Nikolette, the mechanic girl she met on her first day in Friction. Nikol was a nice girl, and Mayu felt a little bad that circumstances at that time forced her to end their meeting quite abruptly. But here they were once again, meeting on the ring this time, and Mayu was more than eager to fight the mechanic for real this time.

As the short haired girl climbed the ring and slipped past the ropes, she would glance at Nikolette and flashed her a bright smile. Mayu would took off her jacket and throw it casually to one of the turnbuckles before she would walk towards Nikolette. There were bandages wrapped around her forearms, as they were just recovered from her match against Akane not too long ago. The bandages were there for protection only, and Mayu thought that they're actually unnecessary. The reason she put them were because the medic staff insisted that she did so, for her own safety.

Once she was standing in front of Nikolette, Mayu would smile cheerfully at the mechanic, extending her hand for a handshake. Her slender body seemed to be fidgeting around as her excitement was already starting to overwhelm her.

"Nikol-san! Glad to see you again!" Mayu said gleefully. "Let's do our best today!"

Nikolette's eyes widened as she saw Mayu come down the ramp. She really was excited to see the girl again and she could definitely tell by the murmur in her heart as it began to beat rapidly. She took off her gloves and tossed them aside as Mayu entered and took off her hoodie. Nikolette then greeted Mayu with pleasant eye contact and a smile and when she saw Mayu stepping forward, she did the same as well.

She extended her hand and gave Mayu's a firm shake. "Mayu... It's good ta see ya again!" She said in a friendly manner. "Yeah, no holdin back, ok? I wanna make sure when I beat ya, I can say you were at yer best." She teased Mayu and flashed her another smile before she backed away and put on a serious face. Her eyes darted around the ring carefully as she began to calculate her first maneuver. When the bell rang, she skipped to the side and began to circle, keeping her hands in front of her the way a collegiate wrestler might when they were looking for a shoot. In fact, she hoped that was exactly what she would be able to do as she closed in and tried to dive to her knees and grab hold of one of Mayu's ankles to trip her up.

"Sure thing!" Mayu said with a friendly grin as she shook the mechanic's hand firmly. "Same to you, Nikol-san! Tee-hee."

Once the match started, Mayu would get into her stance as well and move to the opposite direction from Nikolette, trying to keep a foot length distance at least. When the mechanic made her first move and dived towards her, Mayu would lean backwards a bit before she would try to perform a backflip kick to counter her opponent's move. She did this move during their spar, so she wasn't sure if it would hit the mechanic successfully.

"Ei!" she would let out as she swung her legs mid air at Nikolette's jaw.

Nikolette watched Mayu's movements as she dove. She had seen the girl do the same thing before and this time was quite prepared not to get kicked in the face. She dodged to the side as Mayu's foot nearly connected and let out a breath as it passed. But her eyes watched and from her kneeling position, she tried to push off her hands and knees and propel herself forward while Mayu was completing the hold, looking to lash out and tackle Mayu tot he ground and hopefully drive her shoulder into the girl.

Mayu landed on the mat after her kick missed without any change in her expression. It was kind of expected that Nikolette was able to dodge it after all. Her expression did change when she saw the mechanic launched herself against her almost immediately after she landed. Not having much time to prepare herself, Mayu's slender body was hit by the mechanic's shoulder and she would fly a few meters away, as if she was just hit by a charging bull or something before she landed on her back wit her feet raised.

"O-owwie..." she whimpered while holding her chest, the spot where Nikolette's shoulder connected with that charge.

She remained lying on the mat for a few seconds before she would kick flipped her way to get back on her feet and looked at Nikolette. Smiling, Mayu would get back to her stance again.

"Good one!" she would say excitedly to her opponent, albeit wincing a little from the sting on her chest.

Nikolette furrowed her brow when Mayu flew backwards. She certainly wasn't going to just let Mayu get away like that. She wasn't even trying to separate the two, she wanted to get close. She scrambled forward as Mayu hopped up and tried to be ready for her for with a kick to the chest. If Mayu wanted to keep keeping distance, Nikolette would be happy to give it to her. She only had to push her back so far befofe she forced Mayu into the ropes.

Mayu was just about to think on how she should approach Nikolette after that kick, but it seemed like she didn't even need to do that as the mechanic was already in front of her again. Seeing the kick motion, Mayu instinctively crossed her arms in front of her chest to protect herself. However, the short haired girl seemed to be hesitating with her block and she would twist her body to the side instead at the last second. Nikolette's kick grasped her forearm because Mayu reaction was a bit delayed, and the slender girl would stumble backwards a little, wincing from the little sting she felt.

Mayu felt like scolding herself from what just happened. She was afraid her arms would take too much damage if she took the kick and went for a late dodge instead. She knew she shouldn't hesitating like that. Her arms should be fine as it was, even if they might not be 100% healed yet.

She needed to gather her own thought, but obviously her opponent wasn't going to allow her to do so. Mayu would keep backing away a little bit more until she noticed that she had no other way back. She was in the corner as it was, with the turnbuckle behind her and the mechanic not too far away in her front. Whether she felt pressured by the situation or not, her expression wouldn't give that information away as she was still smiling faintly at Nikolette.

Nikolette saw Mayu's hesitation when she went to block the kick and her eyes widened. Was Mayu afraid of injuring her hands? Nikolette could play tot hat, but then she thought that she would not like to do that, really. Mayu was a friend, Nikolette thought, and the mechanic defintiely wanted to win, but she didn't want to injure Mayu. Still, she had gotten an advantage and wanted to press it. She continued to charge and swung herself at Mayu as she was trapped in the corner. She hoped she could twist her body and throw and Elbow into Mayu's head while she hip checked Mayu's stomach with her pelvis. Flattening Mayu against the turnbuckle and leaving her dazed would be a good way to wear the athletic girl down. It was right where Nikolette wanted the girl.

Mayu was about to clear the fog in her mind with what she's planning as Nikolette once again charged at her. She would step backwards until her back touched the pads and then she would try to grab the ropes with both hands and lifted herself up, swinging both of her legs forward before Nikolette could get too close to her. She didn't feel her arms straining as she pulled herself, which meant they're fine after all. Her kick was supposed to be a light one, as she was just planning to shove the mechanic away from her. Once her hesitation driven away, she would try to follow with a body tackle as she jumped at Nikolette and wrap her arms around the mechanic's waist.
