Wow, long since i played any pokemon game, last one i played was Emerald, i am a bit of an old schooler with this. Still remember my first team, in pokemon blue.

Onyx
Gengar
Tentacruel
Arcanine

I was never too heavy on Grass Pokemon

I used Fire, Ghost, Water, Bug, Flying and Fighting Pokemon.

I remember picking Charmander and spending days in Viridian forest, training my Metapod to make it a butterfree to defeat Brock... Such a long and painful experience if Metapod doesnt already know tackle.

Fire rules, water drools

Zapdos is legendary, you can't have it in your team

And I'll have a grass pokemon to kill water starters

Also, Charmander can learn metal claw. Is all you need to beat Brock.

Hey you leave my Zapdos alone, and isnÂ´t arcanine a legendary pokemon too, also why canÂ´t i have Zapdos, and i loved Bulbasaur, he was so wierd, a plant dinosaur.

No metal claw in blue and red, Kitty cat.

Yeah... No metal Claw to beat Brock in the original games... ^_^;; Which made the charmander path difficult when you take on Brock and Misty who both have pokemon that are strong against Fire types like Charmander

Best starter is Infernape, cuz he's a monkey, and monkey's fling feces ^_^

Seriously though, why don't they make a pokemon have an attack that flings feces? It seems like a logical adaptive attack to use, certainly more so than tail whip or something.

That being said... since he's a fire-type. He would fling flaming feces.... That Explode on Impact...

Now thats Logic.
