SNK went bankrupt ages ago.

They got bought out by another company and became SNK Playmore, which is the company we have today.

It's notable that most of SNK Playmore's games just aren't of the same quality as SNK's were.

True. SNK was the blacksheep developer but always had that amazing lil UMPH! In there games that made them memorable.

Not Always "Good" though. SF2 still kills Fatal Fury.

First off, it was the Neo-Geo that has been run and copied into other machines, due to the original designs capability to stock up to 6 games in one just to retain floorspace.
Anyone with an old ass computer could run Neo-Geo for ages because of it's primitive design back then. Neo-Geo costs near to NO money to maintain. Need I remind you that a board for Neo-Geo with thier 6 games cost 600 USD?
Now, other hardwares, such as CPS3 and System 12 had came out later in the 90s and they weren't emulatable at the time. Plus, they take a shit-ton of power just to run, aka, the suicide battery, and veeeeery expensive.
Who wants to invest a grand for Thirdstrike when you could save on KOF/Metal Slug/Samurai/Sengoku/ ect all in one?
