Break on Through

Hayley shrugged, hopping on her feet a bit.

"It's fine, really. Could be fun, and I'd like to see what you can do in ring. Just watch the hands alright? Save the groping for when you going after the hentai belt or something, eh?"

She replied, offering Nicole a smile. This may not have been what she had planned for today, but she didn't want to be seen as not taking things seriously here, considering how Taylor was known for taking sparring and training seriously.

Julia hummed a little tune to herself as she made her way through the halls of the dojo. Today had so far been nice and quiet, but that was bound to change. Avalanche was just around the corner. And though the cowgirl had seemingly all the momentum in the world going for her, she knew she couldn’t just take things easy until then, which was why she was on her way to the ring. Wearing a black sports bra, matching spandex shorts and a pair of running shoes, she was about to start an intense workout... Or so she thought. That is, until she entered the room and saw, among several others, Silver Ace.

“Hey there, Ace! Long time no see.” she called out to Haley. She hadn’t seen the girl since the last match Ace had had against Alaina a while back. And seeing her here today, it felt like something was going on she didn’t know about. Like there was a party and someone had forgot to send her an invitation, or something. “So what’s goin’ on here? Not interuptin’ anything, am I?”

Oh crap. Another one.


Another Dojo girl that is, as Julia entered the room. That made all 3 main Dojo girls, perhaps the most powerful and relevant girls in the league, all in the room at the same time. It was hard to not be nervous around them, even if Alaina was her friend. This was their main turf, and Ace was about to step into their ring... for a spar against a hentai girl.

"Hey Julia. Nicole and I just came to drop some stuff off, but we might be sparring for a bit. Nothing big. Oh, hey, congrats on beating Gwen for the belt. I thought you got screwed over at Summer Splash, big time. That had to be the second most deserving girl that Gwen screwed over for that belt."

Taylor discreetly waved a hand and shook her head at Ace. That match and everything surrounding it, the Entropy belt, Gwen, the upcoming match at Avalanche pitting two dojo girls against each other, were all sore subjects. Taylor hated every second of it.

"Uh... yeah. Hey, Alaina, how 'bout it? You wanna get in there with your old rival and mix it up a little bit? I'm good to sit out of it for a while. Just make sure to keep it playful, okay? Nothing serious. No one's getting hurt right before Avalanche."

Alaina had been standing back, quietly hanging out in the background when Julia came in. Miss hot-shot herself, ready to continue her undefeated streak through Avalanche no doubt. Alaina gave a weak smile and nod towards Julia without saying anything. In fact, Alaina had been daydreaming about ending that streak at Avalanche when Ace made her comment to Julia. Alaina kept her mouth shut, knowing that Ace viewed herself as the one most screwed over. To hell with the woman who lost because of a slow pin count that should have won her the match. Alaina was about to say something when Taylor spoke up. She stopped immediately, knowing that Taylor was unhappy about the whole Entropy title situation. Causing a scene would have been bad.

After a brief moment of silence to think before she spoke after hearing Taylor's suggestion, Alaina shrugged. "I actually met up with Ace not too long ago for a spar so she might be bored of facing me by now. I'm all set for Avalanche." Alaina said as she leaned back against a wall crossing her arms while briefly glancing Julia's way. Alaina wanted to be fresh for Avalanche, but she also recalled how quickly Ace handled Alaina under the rules set by their spar a few days ago. Sure, two seconds to escape in a submission hold wasn't long and Alaina felt like she would have fared much better. She still felt like she could hang with he younger friend..... but a part of her stubborn pride still stung.

Julia couldn’t tell if Ace was being sarcastic or not, but she certainly had a thing or two she would’ve liked to say about the “second most deserving” remark. Among the three here who had challenged Gwen for the title this year, Julia had been the only one to officially win her match, and even still she’d come out of it empty-handed. Still, she had no intention of starting that argument here, especially knowing her her mentor felt about the whole situation in general.

Speaking of Taylor, her question to Alaina brought Julia’s attention to the Amazon, who was standing all quiet and alone against the wall. She hadn’t noticed her fellow trainee there before, and her expression noticeably soured upon seeing her, especially after hearing Alaina’s answer. The way she said it, it almost sounded like she was brushing Julia off as an easy win - ironic, considering the recent tag match they’d competed in. The cowgirl clicked her tongue and rolled her eyes at the notion, though she knew Alaina wasn’t stupid. Surely the big girl wasn’t planning to just sit on her ass until Avalanche, without any sort of preparation, and expect to have a fighting chance. Maybe she was just waiting until some people finished up in here so she could train in private or something. Well, whatever. In any case, Alaina turning down the chance to spar with Ace gave Julia an idea.

“Don’t mind her, Ace. Think she’s just scared of ya.” she said, looking right at Alaina as she spoke, then grinned while turning her gaze back to Haley. “But I’ll play with ya for a little while. That alright with you?” the blonde asked, but didn’t bother waiting for an answer. She took a couple quick steps forward and leapt up onto the apron, then grabbed the top rope and catapulted herself over it into a soft landing on her feet in the ring.

Ace blinked, surprised that Alaina wouldn't want to get into the ring. Maybe their last spar pissed the amazon off or something.

Still, that left the silver haired girl with Julia as a sparring partner, one of the few Dojo girls she hadn't already faced in the ring, as well as lost too, at some point. That alone was enough to make her concerned. She had enough confidence issues after the last year and everything going on with the Entropy Title, the last thing she needed was to end up looking like she was completely beneath the entire Dojo to boot.

Rolling under the ropes, Ace entered the ring in a much less flashy way than Julia did, hopping back and forth on her feet before raising her arms.

"Alright, if you're sure that's what you want, then I'm game!"

While the girls figured out who was getting in the ring with who, Taylor stood off to the side with Gabbie and Alaina. Though she had been at odds with Gabbie a short while before, she had already moved on and was talking to her like an old friend.

"Like, New York was fucking. Bananas. Easily like the best two weeks of my life, for real. I mean, like, winning the title the first time was kind of a bigger moment just, like, with the title and stuff, but this last time was like..."

Her eyes remained watchful on the ring even while she gushed about the experience, and she shouted up to Julia and Ace in her authoritative coach-voice. "Keep it friendly. We're all friends, here, so just have some fun and Julia, don't show your hand and stay cool. Also, talk to me after, 'cause you're gonna owe me some extra work."

...For her somewhat less than playful crack at Alaina.

Julia grinned as Ace rolled herself into the ring and agreed to spar with her. Though, her expression quickly turned into a grimace at Taylor’s mention of the “extra work,” knowing her little shot at Alaina had just bought her some trouble. But, nothing she could do about that now. "Yes, Taylor." the cowgirl called back, just confirming she'd heard her mentor loud and clear.

She shook the thought off and smiled again, putting her hands up as Ace did the same. “Alright. Let see whatcha got!” Julia said, then moved forward to try to lock her arms with Ace’s.

Right, stay friendly, play nice.


Locking up with Julia, Ace pushed against her, looking to get a feel for the Entropy Co-champions level of strength. She had seen the girl wrestle before, and while it was obvious she wasn't as as powerful as Alaina, who Ace tended to avoid locking up with, she wouldn't be surprised if the cowgirl ended up being stronger than she seemed at first glance.
