Before I post this, I want to go on the record and say I have never seen your posts. This is general information prompted by your post, not in response to anything you've done.

In my view, the ideal post would be:

Player 1: (after responding to the previous post) If an attack is possible, player 1 INITIATES, but does not complete, one action sequence where an attack takes place.
Player 2: Decides weather attack hits or fails
* IF ATTACK HITS: 1) Describe effect of attack. 2) IF APPLICABLE AND REASONABLE: Initiate, but do not complete, one action sequence to either recover/retreat/counter attack
* IF ATTACK MISSES: 1) Initiate and complete one action sequence to evade the attack. 2) IF APPLICABLE AND REASONABLE: Initiate, but do not complete, one action sequence to counter attack/move/etc.


It all boils down to, if your posting "I hit him, then knock him over, then pick him up to try and throw him..." Yes, you did NOT complete the throwing action sequence (sequence 3) and theoretically left the other player time to counter...

But, you DID complete the "Hit him" (sequence 1) and "knock him over" (sequence 2) action sequences without giving player 2 a chance to decide if he counters them or not.

There are SOME places where it is PAINFULLY obvious that the other character is too dazed to realistically do something, or is literally out cold. There are also some places where you'll talk to the other player and agree to be a little auto-hitty to make a spot happen. But thats the exception, not the rule.
