Did someone say... "What is Metal Gear"!?

The information detailed about "That Project" is Top Secret... The President isn't even aware of such a machine. Normally we'd give you the details by switching over to Satellite Communication via Codec. But we won't.

Metal Gear is the code-name for a series of powerful bipedal tanks, usually armed with nuclear weapons.

The general definition of a Metal Gear is a mobile nuclear launch platform similar in purpose to ballistic missile submarines. However, its precise definition is debatable, as many other weapons have been designed to fill a similar role, or have used the same technology. The individual units have varied greatly in appearance and size, but their purpose has always been the same—to destabilize the global balance of power via the threat of covert long-range nuclear attack.

The term "Metal Gear" was coined by Soviet weapons scientist Dr. Aleksandr Leonovitch Granin to describe to Naked Snake in 1964 the "missing link" between infantry and artillery: infantry could roam the battlefield at will, but were both vulnerable and lacking in firepower; artillery could inflict immense damage upon an opponent while resisting similar damage, but was at the mercy of the terrain. Granin envisioned a tank with legs, enabling it to quickly traverse the battlefield, dealing and repelling force on a scale never before seen.

Following an encounter with a Gekko, Otacon explained to Old Snake that what makes a "Metal Gear" is specifically its nuclear launch capability. Taking in Granin's original coinage of the term, it can be therefore assumed that a Metal Gear can be defined as a bipedal nuclear weapon. Not only does this negate the Gekkos and the Mk. II/Mk. III from being true Metal Gears, but it also discounts Metal Gear RAY.

If you need further assistance, you can contact me via Codec... My frequency is 140.85.
If you need to save your Data... You can reach Iffy also by Codec. Her frequency is 666.66
If you need help with information on firearms and nuclear weapons, Contact Tatyina through codec. Frequency is 140.96
If you to be provided providing with information on health a"nd on how to operate within the Alaskan environment contact Master Cirno also through Codec... His Frequency is also 666.66... Also note that he isnt the Original "Master Cirno" He is in fact "Liquid Cirno" in disguise.
Also... You can contact a cyborg ninja called... "Deepthroat" for RANDOM info. Secretly he's Hawthorne... You wont need his Codec number... He'll contact you...

Im afraid that is all I can give you.... Good luck in the field... Remember to use "The Box"

Colonel Lobo out.

Ps. Pokemon Red & Blue are Teh Bomb

... Anyway back to topic... ^_^ I can see that being said often.

yes... I think that Anime TV channel idea is the best on the spot idea I've come up with ^_^ and now I can get this kitten off my back (its kinda like having a monkey on your back, but cuter), I won't be bugged about the name of AFW and there will be no changing the name of AFW <img src=" title="Wink" />

That Metal Gear thing sounds powerful, but it is clearly meta-typel. So i am sure one of my fire-type pokemons can kick its ass easily. Volcarona surely pwns Metal Gear any day of the weak.

What is the freacuency to get someone come here and take you all back to the asylum?

Never played blue/red. Black and White RULE!

You may have escaped my paws for now Kelsea, but be sure I'll find something else yo bug you about real soon. Wacth your back.

*Lobo Uses Counter!*

Indeed Metal Gear is a Metal-Type. BUT if you count another model known as Metal Gear RAY, which is amphibious, thus it also a Water-type. So i am sure RAY can kick Volcarona's ass rather easily because it's Fire Based attacks are Not Very Effective. It's also a Nuke type. >.> Just saying.

*Exits and Plays theme song*
