Macho Man Randy Savage -- one of the most famous wrestlers of all-time -- died today in a car accident in Tampa, Florida ... TMZ has learned.

TMZ spoke with Randy's brother, Lanny Poffo, who tells us the wrestling legend suffered a heart attack while he was behind the wheel around 10 AM ... and lost control of his vehicle.

Earlier this month, Savage celebrated his 1-year anniversary with his new wife Lynn.

Savage was 58.

Macho Man began wrestling in the WWF in 1985 and became a superstar with his trademark catchphrase "Ooooooh Yeaahhhhh."

I...I just don't know what to say really. Even before I was a wrestling fan, Randy's voice acting work was still there with Dexters lab and such and to know that he's gone... 2011 sucks, Larry Sweeney dies, Edge retires and now this...fuck...

I totally said, "Ohh, no!" when I heard about this.

A few hours after I heard, I remembered what a ridiculously great voice he had. The man was NEVER not yelling, even when he was talking at a regular voice. made me imagine him having a heart attack and yelling just like that, a comical "OHHH NOO!!" as he grabbed his chest

Also, loved him in this cartoon. just randomly hanging out with the cast for no reason, playing his (then) new rap song, beating up people for fun, and giving out sage wrestling-themed advise. takes a minute or two to show up but it gets damn funny
