Alicia Wells vs. "Amazon" Alaina Sanders

Alaina was too out of it to stop Alicia from locking in the arm bar, and the amazon was again just being abused by Alicia who had controlled the match from the start without resistance from Alaina. She cried out and reached over to work on Alicia's grip and take away some of the pressure.

Alaina grunted as she tried to buck her lower body to move the two women closer to the ropes. If she could use her arms to try to lessen the pressure a little and her lower body strength to move them ever closer to the ropes as the hold seemed to make her arm and shoulder scream out in agony! Alaina grit her teeth, fighting through the pain to get to that rope...

It was no surprise after the battering that Alicia had dished out already that Alaina wasn’t in a position to block the armbar. Unfortunately for Alaina, once the hold was locked in firmly, it was a very unpleasant wakeup call indeed. The redheaded mixed martial artist was sparing no effort to brutalise that muscular arm of Alaina’s while she had the chance and she had plenty of practice at doing just that.

The problem Alaina faced was that Alicia had the hold locked in deep. With her legs draped across the former champ’s chest, that gave her the leverage to keep Alaina from taking the pressure out of the armbar. And all she had to do was push her hips up and she could put even more pressure on that vulnerable elbow. Between that and the muscles of her inner thighs doing their best to chop Alaina’s arm off at the bicep, the big Brit had the potential to inflict a lot of pain on the arm she had trapped and the shoulder it was attached to.

No surprise that Alaina was doing her very best to drag them both to the nearest rope and the break it offered. Equally, no surprise that Alicia was doing her own best to make that hard. She couldn’t stop Alaina and work the hold but she could make herself as close to deadweight as possible and eke every last drop of damage out of the armbar.

It was really just a question of how long she’d be allowed to work it before Alaina’s free hand inevitably caught hold of the ropes.

Alaina's whole arm was howling, agony wracking it every second. She stretched and strained to reach that rope, wanting the pain to end. Above all else she wanted to stop looking like a hapless excuse for a wrestler. However, right now she would have a hard time convincing anyone of that given how poorly she had done in this matchup.

Alaina felt like her elbow was now on fire. Nothing she could do was helping. She kept groaning out in pain as she made her way and reached just barely managing to grab onto the bottom rope!

While she might not be showing off her skills too much, Alaina’s strength and determination were on full display as she pulled her own weight and Alicia’s across the mat with nothing more than brute force and a refusal to give in.

She was going to get to that rope sooner rather than later. Nothing Alicia could do would stop her. That was pretty damn impressive, given she was doing it on her back with one arm.

There was still a lot of groaning.

Seeing Alaina’s free hand manage to reach the ropes, Alicia didn’t wait for the referee to enforce the break. Instead, she broke her lock of her own accord, scooting back and rising to her feet. Nor did the big redhead push the rules. No, Alicia backed off several paces, hands in plain view as she gave the former champion plenty of space to get up.

Rope breaks weren’t generally her idea of fun (though she’d taken advantage of it herself once or twice) but rules were rules. Without them, they’d just be brawling and Alicia liked to think she played by the rules whether she liked them or not.

She’d give Alaina her break, let her stand up again and then see if the brunette was going to give her a better fight this time around.

Hopefully, she would. If not, this could be over very quickly indeed. That arm had to be in a bad way now; how much could Alaina do with it?

The hold finally, mercifully ended with the rope break. Alaina knew how bad she looked. She did her best to hobble and struggle to her feet in something of a timely manner. She glared over at Alicia, and wasn't going to let her thus far total inability to get in any offense stop her. A lot of things were swirling about in Alaina's mind, but she had to shut them all out. She had to focus on Alicia otherwise she was going to lose.

Alaina held her arms up, noticeably wincing after that hold. She moved in and swung a hard, fast kick up right at the side of Alicia's head! Alaina had to do something to jar this woman and a kick to the head seemed like it would do the trick.

The way Alaina was struggling to get up was not promising but she was, at least, game to continue – that was something. Alicia held back a bit more than she had against Jesse; she’d dominated the match to this point and didn’t want to end things now.

It was far too early.

Even if that meant putting herself at a disadvantage.

So she waited and let Alaina get to her feet before moving back in. But, despite everything, Alaina was destined to get the first shot off.

All the signs indicating a kick was heading her way were there; not surprisingly given a punch would be a bad move at this point.

Alicia wasn’t a kickboxer for nothing. She got her arms up, both of them, so that she could take the brunt of the hit on her forearms rather than to the head. The problem was that Alaina’s kick might not have the technical proficiency that Alicia’s had at their best but it wasn’t far off and it had a lot of power behind it to boot.

While taking it on the forearms was a better bet and Alicia did her best to take some of the sting out of the hit by moving with the blow, it was still enough to shatter her guard and send the redhead staggering back a step.

Surprisingly, if anything, Alicia was grinning wider than before.

Alaina was definitely not out of the fight yet. Awesome.

Alaina's kick was blocked, her scowl was met with a large grin. That grin. Alaina wanted more than anything to wipe it right off her face. The kick failed to do anything of consequence which also bothered Alaina. The former champ was just a plaything to this woman. Alaina's blood boiled at the thought of that. She had come too far to just be some nameless jobber again like she was when she first set foot in the ring.

Alaina rushed in and ran straight at Alicia, ducking down at the last second to try to get around to her back. From there Alaina wanted to wrap her arms around Alicia's waist and lift her up, attempting to bring her crashing down with a release German suplex! Alaina was desperate, and didn't want to simply avoid a one sided loss. She wanted to turn this thing around on that damn grinning woman who seemed to view her as a simple plaything she could beat without breaking a sweat.

While Alicia had blocked the kick, all that power had to go somewhere and it had left her temporarily stunned in the wake of the hit. Certainly, enough so that Alaina didn’t face any real resistance as she charged in – just a snapped kick that whisked through where the veteran would have been if she hadn’t ducked.

Either way, Alicia didn’t manage to stop the brunette and Alaina would be able to wrap her arms around the redhead’s waist without any problems.

Unlike blocking a kick, where Alicia had about half her life spent practising what to do, blocking suplexes was pretty new to her. While she knew the theory and had some practice in sparring putting it into action, there was a difference between doing so in a sparring match and in the real thing. Add to that the brain-rattling effects of Alaina’s kick and the redhead’s chances were…

Well, they were still north of zero percent but the odds were very definitely not in her favour.

She did her best, struggling to stall the move but failing – Alaina’s German suplex ripped the British amazon off her feet and brought her back down again with a ring-shaking impact. Alicia’s curvy form hit on her shoulders and the back of her neck, jack-knifing up and over to land on her front.

That hurt. For a moment at least, the rookie was left barely stirring, with Alaina back in control.

Alaina's body ached but it felt good to finally get in her first offense of the match. She wasn't about to let up either. If Alicia wanted to sit back and wait for someone to get up that was fine for her. Alaina had more respect for this woman's ability than that. She grabbed Alicia by the head and pulled her up to her feet, ramming a hard knee into her abdomen to try to keep her stunned.

Alaina wrapped one arm around Alicia's head and hooked her leg with another. With a loud cry Alaina lift her up as if she were delivering a fishermans duplex but instead held her up high delaying the drop. When the drop came it was no suplex either. Alaina wanted nothing more than to drive Alicia to the mat head first with a fisherman brain buster!

While Alicia was by no means out of the match, she was not in it enough to resist much when Alaina went to pull her back to her feet. Of course, her instincts were still in working order enough so that her arms came up to block that knee in plenty of time.

Arms interposed or not, the knee still drew a hiss of pain and it occupied Alicia enough to do what Alaina had probably meant it to do. That is, when the Amazon grabbed the British kickboxer by the head and hooked up one of those big solid thighs, Alicia’s arms were fully occupied.

Between that and the lingering shock from the preceding suplex, the result was Alaina getting exactly what she wanted. Alicia felt her feet leaving the ground, and did her best to brace for the inevitable impact that’d be following shortly.

Only to find herself waiting, the blood rushing down to her head in a way that didn’t make her wait any more comfortable. The crowd cheered now – as ever, the red-haired scissor specialist wasn’t the Friction crowd’s favourite by any means and they were happy to see her come a cropper.

And they cheered again when Alaina finally completed the move, drilling Alicia headfirst into the mat. The challenger’s limbs flailed briefly before she dropped flat, starfished on her back with her arms and legs splayed wide.

Her brain was now going through what might best be described as a hard reset. Of course, she’d taken hits to the head before and it was only a matter of time before she was back in the fight.
