Sonic Boom vs Bangarang

Julia couldn’t help but chuckle at the little interaction between Ellie and Lyla. “Mind ‘yer balance, there,” she said to the downed girl. Of course the cowgirl knew she wasn’t out here to train these two, and most wouldn’t recommend using even a moment of time to offer advice to an opponent. But Julia liked these two, and saw no harm in being friendly for a moment, especially since it would be short-lived.

As Ellie started getting up Julia pulled her right leg back before throwing a quick roundhouse kick right for the girl’s chest! The kick was intended to be too quick for her foe to catch, which if successful on that front would leave her with two potential outcomes: get blasted in the chest or lay back down to dodge, all depending on Ellie’s reaction time. In either case, the purpose was to make sure her foe ended up on her back again.

If that worked, she’d follow through the momentum of her kick to bring herself standing with her back to Ellie. And as soon as her foot came back to the mat she’d leap up and twist through the air, aiming to crash right on top of her opponent’s torso with a standing corkscrew moonsault!

Her attempt to rise was short lived, having barely gotten her back off the mat before Julia's leg hit her with a snappy roundhouse that flattened her back out with a whiplash hard enough to shake the ring. She let out a hard wheeze, caught by surprise by the sheer force of the kick that had just laid her back out and left her short of breath.

Ellie was forced to watch, dumbfounded as Julia spun about, at first assuming she was going to run towards the ropes. The bend of her knees and change in her arm positioning told a different story. She had seen Lyla try things like this before and knew exactly what to do. She immediately tried to lift her legs, intending to tuck them in to intercept her opponent but found her body unresponsive. Her eyes narrowed in a preemptive since as Julia spiral through the air towards her unhindered.

Her form quaked when the cowgirl crashed across her body. Her legs and arms briefly flopping upwards before dropping limply back to the mat. Ellie was left gasping on the mat, blown away by how fast she had been dispatched. Was this already the end?

"One!"

"Ellie! I swear, if I got geared up just to sit on the apron I am going to be rip-shit pissed! Get up!" Lyla had her hands cupped to either side of her mouth, yelling across the ring to her dazed partner. She had fully balanced herself on the middle rope, hanging over the top rope slightly as she shouted. Could she have run in to break up the pin? Probably. The match hadn't even gotten started yet though so she didn't think she had to until…

"Two!"

"Hhhgn!" Ellie let out a grunt, then a frustrated groan as she shifted beneath Julia. She had attempted to buck the other woman was finding it difficult to manage. With all her strength she threw up an arm, managing to lift her shoulder just enough to break the pinfall and save Bangarang a humiliating loss within the opening seconds of their match.

The kick hammered Ellie right onto her back, and the standing corkscrew moonsault brought Julia crashing right down onto the girl while sparking a fresh wave of awed shouts and applause from the crowd! The combo could hardly have gone off better, and after landing on Ellie the cowgirl reached across her and held her arm down to pin her.

Julia hadn’t expected to end the match this soon, but for the briefest moment she thought that might actually happen! The two count came and went and Ellie was still firmly pinned. Only when the ref’s hand was close to striking the mat for the third and final time did her foe finally manage to force her shoulder up just enough to break the pin. In truth, Julia was relieved. Obviously she wanted victory in her tag team’s big reunion, but as much as she liked winning the masked blonde wanted to have fun in her matches. It would’ve been a shame for this to end so quickly.

“Alrighty. Up ya go!” Julia said while moving off of Ellie and grabbing her by the wrist, trying to drag her back up to her feet. Once there she’d pivot and swing, attempting to throw her foe off toward the ropes. And right as Ellie was going into them, Julia would leap high and throw her legs out, aiming to catch the silver-haired girl in the chest with a dropkick!

After her burst of energy Ellie dropped back to the mat with a huff. People didn't give kicking out enough credit for how taxing it could be just because of how simple it sounded on paper. After the close call, her heart was already wanting a break from the dollar coaster this had become. It wasn't to be though, as Julia grab hold of her limp wrist to yank her upwards. She rose with a stagger, wholly unready to be knocked down again only to be thrown towards the ropes.

The silver haired rookie stumbled her first few steps before catching her balance and running the rest of the way. With a hard oivot she threw her back into the ropes, mentally preparing herself to show down with Julia again. She would springboard back and be ready with a-

Julia was already there as soon as she spun about, too late to plan! The cowgirl's boots clapped against her chest getting a collective cringe from the audience. The natural force of her opponent mixed with the momentum she herself had put into the ropes made for a devastating impact, one that not only knocked her back into the ropes but found her toppling clean over them to fall hard to the outside.

Ellie let out a hiss of pain, gripping the shoulder she had landed on while kicking her boots into the lightly padded cement below. It had been a bad tumble to be sure. She gave her forehead a light think against the floor, mentally cursing herself for messing this match up already. She had to do better!

Alaina stood on the apron watching as Julia seemed to be picking up right where she left off! She was clapping and turning to the crowd waving her arms about to keep them psyched up. "Yeah! Look at her go! It looks like she never left for a second! Come on Julia keep it up!" Alaina said as she swayed her hips a bit, facing the ring and pointing to Julia as she was off to a hot start!

The dropkick landed right on the bullseye, dropping Ellie once again and this time sending her out tot he floor at ringside! Once the cowgirl landed on her front, she rolled onto her shoulders, then kicked out with her legs to spring back to her feet with an energetic kip-up.

“LET’S GO!!!!” she shouted out, the match and crowd working in tandem to get her adrenaline pumping! Now might have been a good opportunity to get Ellie back in the ring and try to pin her again. But even though the last count had been dangerously close, she had a gut feeling that it was still too early to put the girl away. Besides, as much fun as she and the crowd were having, Julia didn’t see much reason in trying to end the party early.

Julia began stomping on the mat. It was slow and rhythmic, and after a second or two the crowd began to clap in time with her stomps, which started picking up in speed. Then she took a ran to the ropes at the far end of the ring and bounded off of them, throwing herself into a sprint going back the other way. Throwing caution to the wind, Julia vaulted over the top rope while flipping forward, and if Ellie stayed where she was the cowgirl would crash right down onto her with a Tope Con Giro!

Ellie was in such a bad way. The match had barely started and she already felt the need to make a tag to help recover. This wasn't going as she planned at all. Sure, she expected some difficulty, but so far she had been pretty much been getting manhandled. Maybe she should have let Lyla start them off, the two of them had a similar style after all… no, that wouldn't have been good either.

The silver haired girl lifted her head at the about from the ring and the steady drum of the crowd. Was something big coming? She was willing to put on it. Staggering to one knee she stared up at the ropes, unable to see Julia from here, bust just listening best she could over the crowd. Her bright eyes darted nervously looking for anything that might be amiss… vibration in the ropes? Had she been seeing something or…?

Ellie let out a surprised mouse like squeal as Julia came rocketing over the top rope. Pushing off the ground she heaved her body to the side in panicked dive, narrowly skirting the devastating high risk move. She hit the ground hard in a slide, wincing preemptively as her opponent was left to crash and burn on the hard outside with nothing to break her fall.

It quickly became apparent something was wrong. The crowd had been lively and energetic, Julia had Ellie measured, and she’d vaulted just the way she needed to clear the ropes and hit her target. But midway through her turn through the air, the audience let out a premature gasp. Something had happened Julia couldn’t see, and this late into her high risk dive, it was far too late to adjust. The exact nature of her problem didn’t become apparent until Julia landed… Not onto Ellie, but back first onto the thinly matted floor at ringside.

Immediately Julia arched her back and opened her mouth as if to scream in agony, but no sound came out. The impact had winded her so severely the cowgirl couldn’t even shout or scream! She frantically rolled and thrashed on the ground, one hand resting on her back while the rest of her limbs squirmed and struck against the ground.

The luchadora had always been aware of the dangerous aspects of her crowd-pleasing style. Several slow-mo instant replays of her self-destructive crash at ringside were shown on the screen, each one drawing a new sympathetic groan from the crowd. She had no one to blame for this but herself, but couldn’t focus on that right now. Julia still had a match to worry about, one that was in danger of going off the rails if Bangarang capitalized well enough on her mistake.

Her preemptive wince for her fellow wrestler was met with a large cringe on actual impact that forced her to turn her head side. The hard, unforgiving smack of the other woman's body against the solid floor was enough to make her stomach churn a bit. She hated thinking of this as a fortunate turn in the favor of her team despite how much of a boon it was going to be.

Forcing herself to her feet from hands and knees, she made her way over to her fallen for, dragging her boots as she took heavy steps. The smart move was to make use of the punishing surfaces of the outside. The corner posts, the stairs, the barriers, even the ring apron. Maybe in a more loosely ruled match she would have against more bloodthirsty competition. Julia and Alaina, she liked to think, were both honorable competitors. She didn't have the heart to sully their match with use of questionable means, no matter how beneficial.

Reaching down Ellie brought Julia's writhing form to a stop, grill the woman by the shoulder and back of her neck. With a hard grunt she walked herself back, dragging the masked cowgirl up to her feet. The room stepped up alongside the other woman, gripping the lip of her tights and jog her towards the apron closer to Bangarang's corner. Ellie lifted at the last second to try and hoist Julia up just enough to throw her under the bottom rope to roll her back into the ring. There was a clear sound of disappointment from some cool in the front row who were likely looking for a more daring or extreme tactic from the silver haired girl, but she was just going to have to disappoint them.

Climbing up onto the apron, she motioned for Lyla wordlessly, the pink haired girl nodded and leaned out over the rope with an outstretched hand. Ellie gripped the top rope, leaning herself away as far as she could, stretching it out before letting it spring back. She hopped up over the rope with the momentum, she flipped her body forward, eyes closed, to land on the downed Julia with a senton. She would roll the move through, popping to her feet to dash towards the far ropes, clapping her partners waiting hand as she passed.

The silver haired rookie sprang off the ropes to make a return trip to Julia while Lyla, now the legal woman, bounded up the corner post to crouch herself along the top rope. When Ellie reached the downed cowgirl, she let out a shout before jumping up into the air, shooting out her legs to attempt to come crashing down with a leg drop across the woman's shoulders.

Lyla watched closely, gauging the time and distance with her partner in motion. When Ellie had just closed in on Julia, she sprang out across the open air, arms and legs bending in towards one another then shooting out in front and behind her as she aimed to slam herself down across Julia in a frog splash in perfect time with Ellie's leg drop.

Ellie would quickly drop to her back and roll to the apron while Lyla shifted to position herself better across Julia's chest to press her arm down across the veteran's shoulders to keep them pinned. With her free arm she slipped her hand down across the cowgirls thigh, snagging hold of her knee to yank it back and hook one leg as she went for the pinfall.

"One!"

Hoarse, stunted breaths squeaked out of Julia as her lungs worked in panic to try to replenish the air that had just been violently blasted out of them. The daredevil cowgirl had crashed and burned enough times in her career that this wasn’t an unfamiliar sensation to her. But it was always scary when you tried to take a breath but your body just couldn’t do it. Still she knew it would return eventually. She just had to force herself to relax, in spite of the immense pain plaguing her back and ribs.

Unfortunately, Ellie was on her before she could fully reach that point. Julia couldn’t be mad at her for it. Good sports or not, you can’t just wait around and give your opponent a chance to fully recover. Still, the masked blonde did feel some sense of relief when she was rolled back into the ring. She was still in a bad spot, but she knew the options that had been available to Ellie, and was inwardly thankful she’d chosen this. Lying flat on her back in the ring now, Julia lightly squirmed on the mat, gradually getting closer and closer to the point of being able to breathe normally again...until a pair of bodies suddenly flew into her field of vision, with no time to move out of the way!

“GUH!!” she cried out as Ellie and Lyla nearly flattened her beneath them with their devastating tandem offense! A leg drop right across the highest point of her chest and over her shoulders, and a frog splash right onto her midsection, perfect tools to ensure the winded cowgirl remained that way a good while longer. And with Ellie moving off, that just left Layla on top of her. Julia felt her leg get pulled up, and heard the ref counting.

“Two!”

The hand was on its way down again, and came dangerously close to striking the mat for a third time before Julia let out a loud grunt while kicking her free leg out and forcing her left shoulder off the mat!
