Sonic Boom vs Bangarang

While Lyla was far from the largest lady out here in AFW, but when she flew she did it without hesitation, it put her weight and momentum into everything giving it an added bit of oomph. Something needed to put bigger opponent's down. It also helped to have a free shot at the back of her opponent's head… she wouldn't knock it though. The Irish lass hadn't gotten a chance to see the full impact of her own attack, flopping over onto her back after her legs failed Alaina forward onto the canvas. She came down awkwardly, partly on top of her partner with legs draped over her back. Ellie, who normally disliked interference in their matches seemed elated with the save, possibly even impressed.

Lyla kicked her legs up rolling up over her head and back onto her feet just in time for the referee to get in her business. With a roll of her eyes and a nod, she backed away to her corner, urging Ellie on with a wave of her hands. The pink haired wrestlers eased through the ropes onto the apron and reached back over the top, ready to be set loose.

Ellie dragged herself out from the last bit of Alaina, in a hurry. The plan had always been for her partner to wear down the Amazon before she ever stepped into the ring with her and how the large woman had tossed her around so easily spoke towards why that was. Legs still burning from the simple but brief hold, the rookie didn't even bother to try to test her luck by standing. Instead, she scrambled across the mat on all fours, franticly trying to reach the ropes. It wasn't until she was close enough that she finally sprang off the mat to lunge the last few feet, attempting to clap her partner's outstretched hand.

Ellie's arm continued to remained outstreatched even as she was hunched over on her knees. Lyla had taken hold of her hand when their palms made contact, refusing to let her partner fall. With a straining pull, the Irish lass helped her tag partner to rise, adding support to her fumbling steps. The silver haired rookie smiled up at her friend appreciatively, getting a smooth wink back from Lyla as she struggled to hold the extra weight without showing signs of the strain. "Looks like it's my turn."

"Heh... yeah. Stick to the plan?" Ellie grabbed the top rope, steadying herself without the need for her partner any longer. Both girls exchanged a small nod of confirmation. In a slick coordinated effort, they each ducked down through the ropes, back to back as they transitioned to the apron and ring, exchanging places. It made the two women look great in the moment, as if Bangarang had been together in AFW for years. The moment however was sort lived as Lyla spied a charging Alaina dead set on paying her back. Her position afforded her a remarkable defensive position to act from, lunging herself off to the side to narrowly avoid being gored.

Ellie however, back towards the ring, wasn't as lucky as the amazon barreled into the empty air Lyla had been in, colliding into her from behind. The silver haired rookie let out a surprised cry as she was knocked clear off the apron to tumble unceremoniously down to the ring mats in a hard, unprepared fall. The young girl let out a howl of pain, curling up in a ball as she kicked her boots on the ground.

On her hands and knees, Lyla glanced black, gobsmacked and blinking. "Well... shit."

"Jeez, I just tagged in, give me a sec!" Lyla backpedalled on all fours, walking herself back up to her feet by pushing off the canvas with her palms. Alaina was doing a good job keeping her moving, already heading down on her again. After taking a few hopping steps back, she was almost certain she couldn't dip past the larger woman so she decided it best to take another approach. Arms raised, she stepped up seemingly going to meet the Amazon in a grapple. At the last moment she kicked off the mat, clapping her hands on the shoulders of the lunging juggernaut to leap frog over top of her, making a quick escape from potential destruction.

Landing in a run, she surged forward and away, turning to hit the ropes and come back faster. Pound for pound, Alaina would clobber her so she needed something to make up the difference. That came in the form of momentum. With speed behind her she kicked a leg high in passing, trying to clip the larger woman along the side of the head with a big boot. It wasn't with enough force to floor the woman, but if she hit, Lyla would keep going, trying to transition the stunning strike into her signature "The Drive By" and attempt to land her flashy spinning DDT to bring the giant crashing down on the return trip.

Hooking her arm around Alaina’s head, she kicked off the mats, sending both women in a quick but dizzying spin as she held herself firm to the other woman’s shoulder just long enough for one full rotation. With a sudden shift of her weight, Lyla snapped them both back to plant the Amazon face first with her signature DDT which was enough to get a surprised bit of appreciation from the audience. While Bangarang had managed to hold their own for a bit in their initial debut, being able to stand up so well against a more established team like Sonic Boom showed they had some serious potential.

Ellie had just now managed to pull herself up, leaning against the side of the ring still clutching her side. The rookie caught the tail end of her partner’s offense and was among one of the observers who were impressed by it. She knew Lyla could wrestle, it was a matter of her being motivated to take things seriously. Thankfully, tonight she was in rare form and giving it her all.

“Go for a pin!” The silver haired girl called from the sidelines, starting to heft herself back up onto the apron. She didn’t think the move had been enough to put someone like Alaina away, but it wasn’t about ending the match. It was about making their opponent waste energy kicking out and dealing with the stress that came from being pinned and risking defeat, it was a psychological thing.

Lyla however, didn’t see the point. Alaina was a big gal, built like a tank not unlike Thorn. She would have to do more to even come close to pinning her, so with a huff, she chose to ignore Ellie’s advice. Instead, the pink haired girl popped to her knees, trying to reach beneath the reeling amazon to flip her over. They were in a good spot for a submission, nearly in the center of the ring. If she managed to flip the woman onto her front, Lyla would throw a leg over, trying to mount the other woman from behind.

Rocking back up onto her boots, knees bent, she would attempt to forceful hook one arm then the other up over her thighs before reaching down to slip her fingers under Alaina’s chin. With a hard jerk, the lithe irish lass would recline, trying to lock the bigger woman down in a camel clutch, giving the hold several hard cranks to try and get as much bend out of her opponent as she could manage while she was still feeling the effects of her DDT.

While Ellie couldn't really get behind having her direction being ignored as the shot caller of Bangarang, there was something to be said about Lyla's tactics. Pound for pound, there was no real way for the lithe pink haired party girl to out muscle Alaina. Not many people in AFW could, there was a good reason the woman had earned her impressive reputation. Down on the mat though, it stripped away a lot of what made her so dangerous and put them on more even footing. This was something the Irish lass had on good display, making use of leverage to close the gap in their strength and wreck the amazon further and further back with powerful grip beneath her chin. It was nothing personal, Lyla wasn't the malicious sort, normally, but she did take some measure of pride in getting a good scream out of a wrecking ball like Alaina while being cheekily perched on her back.

Lyla gave Julia across the ring a small upnod, blowing the masked wrestler a small kiss. If someone could say one thing about Lyla, it was that she was persistent. As flirtatious as she wanted to be though, ramping up her hold came first and soon enough she was arched so far back the blond had left her vision. She could feel Alaina struggling, slowly gathering herself up beneath her. It got a small bounce of her butt on the larger woman's back and a few more fierce cranks of her neck back for the trouble. It was a fruitless plan to try and recapture those arms again and reset the hold, instead she focused on milking this for all she could and make the process as hellish as possible for the fighting amazon.

"She's almost u- oh shoot!" Ellie had finally gotten back to the apron, resting herself up against the corner post with both arms draped over the top rope. She still appeared ragged, having taken a pretty bad bump when Alaina accidentally speared her into the ringside area. The silver haired rookie did her best to tuck that away and keep an eye out for her partner though, trying to warn her of what was to come next. Unfortunately for both girls, Alaina flopped herself backwards before getting fully to her feet, cutting off most any counter play. Ellie winced as she watched Lyla be crushed beneath the amazon's weight with a cry of pain, losing her grip on the clutch.
