Suzumi Ishikawa vs Chris Morgan

Noting how Suzumi grabbed at her back, Chris reached down, trying to seize the Japanese woman by an arm and her hair to pull her up to her feet. The crowd, firmly behind Suzumi, called out encouragement, rallying behind the Tsunami.

If she got Suzumi back to a standing position, the Californian would Irish whip her towards one of the corners. The move would slam Suzumi's back against the turnbuckles. After the impact, Chris would run after her opponent to attempt a body splash, looking to sandwich her foe between the corner and her own body.

Suzumi felt herself being pulled up to her feet and whipped towards the corner. Hard.

Suzumi grunted in pain as her back connected to the turnpost. She saw Chris rushing her, looking to flatten her like a pancake against the ringpost. Fortunately for Suzumi, she was just a bit faster than Chris, for once Chris was close Suzumi rolled quickly to the right watching as Chris smashed her own chest against the ringpost!

Seeing Suzumi crash back first into the turnbuckles, Chris was certain that she would be too stunned to move. However it seemed the American had underestimated the Tsunami's speed and resilience. The blonde ran full tilt into turnbuckles, chest first.

Giving a ragged, breathless "Ooooof!" Chris staggered a few steps back out of the corner, a hand covering her chest. The crowd roared as the hated Wrestle Angel collided with the corner and then reeled back....

Suzumi caught her breath and saw an opening she could exploit for the first time so far in the match! As Chris staggered backwards, Suzumi moved next to her, putting her arm around Chris's shoulder and moving her right leg in front of Chris's left.

Suzumi leaned forward before snapping back, trying to catch Chris in a Russian leg sweep! It required finesse more than power, and Suzumi needed to capitalize on opportunities such as this in order to claw her way into the fight.

Before she could draw herself back up to her full height, Chris felt one of her opponent's arms drape itself over her shoulder. Striking before she could react, Suzumi drove the back of her head down against the canvas using a Russian leg sweep!

Cradling the back of her head, Chris could help but appreciate the other woman's ring savvy, dodging the American's attack and then following up by getting her off of her feet. Chris was more than familiar with the strengths and weaknesses of her way of fighting. On her feet, working from a vertical base, the blonde was more than capable of overwhelming most foes with her strength. On the mat though, she was far more easier to deal with.
With this in mind, Chris would shake her head, trying to clear it so she could it eventually start making her way back to standing position....

Suzumi got Chris to the mat, and she needed to work to keep her there! She knew Chris wasn't just strong, but she was also very durable.

Suzumi's belief was reaffirmed when she saw Chris quickly stirring and working her way back up. Suzumi had a few submissions holds in mind for Chris... but it looked like a softening strike was in order just to be sure. As Chris worked her way up, Suzumi moved behind her and delivered a hard soccer style kick right to the base of Chris's spine!

As Chris started to work her way back up to her feet, the Tsunami used on her of hers to deliver a punishing kick into her back when she had rolled onto her side.

The larger woman rolled with the force of the blow out of instinct, onto her front before getting to her hands and knees, a precursor to trying to rise back to her feet....

Suzumi saw just what she was looking for when Chris was getfing back up....

Suzumi jumped on Chris from behind, wrapping her legs around Chris' s waist and arms around her throat. Suzumi locked in a raer naked choke and applied as much pressure as she could!

"I won't be pushed around by someone bigger! Especially when they put a hurting on Mikoto!" Suzumi shouted as she tried to apply the hold.

When Mikoto used a chokehold on her in their match, Chris had been taken be surprise, not expecting the smaller woman to willing get in close with her. Here in this match, it was still surprising, but it was one that the Californian now had a ready reply for. Also the comment that Suzumi made....it implied that her and Mikoto were at least passing friends. As much as she wanted to respond to it, Chris knew she had to save her air.

Struggling back to her feet, the former Wrestle Angel's ring awareness came into play. Gauging where the nearest corner was, she staggered a few steps away from it, but also shifted her back towards it's turnbuckles. Although she was setting up Suzumi to be become a pancake between the American's body in the corner, she also was trying to lull the Tsunami into a false sense of security by moving away from the corner. Then she would suddenly run backwards, trying to slam the Japanese woman on her back against the corner, hopefully catching her by surprise, the crowd giving a sympathetic "Ooooooh!" if the move worked.

Suzumi locked in the hold as firmly as she could, and built some confidence as she continued to have some success. However, this was short lived.

Chris ran backward and rammed Suzumi against the ropes back-first! Suzumi let go, and slumped to a sitting position as she groaned in pain. She knew someone as large and muscular as Chris would be strong. Suzumi faced bigger powerhouses in Wrestle Angels before, but Chris packed more power than anyone she had ever faced.

Suzumi panted as she used her hands to grabs the ropes and get back to her feet.
