AV 13 Main Event: (C)Angel Vs. (C)Adrian "Unification" Match

Angel reached up, reaching for the title. She seemed to be having a bit of trouble at first, but then suddenly grabbed onto it, her precious gold back in her hands.

Before she could start to yank it down though, Adrian's fist suddenly came up, striking her squarely in the middle of her lower back. She let out a yell, her back arching in pain. One hand came down to hold her back, the other grabbing onto the ladder again for support, as she writhed her head around, looking down at Adrian with a mix of confusion and anger on her face.

"Get down!" she cried out almost desperately, inwardly cursing Adrian for causing her so much trouble again. One of her legs began to kick downwards, wildly, trying to strike Adrian and get her to get back down off of the ladder.

"Nyaaaa!" Adrian yelled as her fist beat against Angel's spine, slowing the Latina's gold retrieval attempt while Adrian tried to steady herself on the ladder again, but like Angel's attempt to remove the ladder before her, Adrian's initial attack had done little to get Angel back down to the mat, and unlike the former cosplayer's dangling attempt to hang on, wasn't just going to hold on and let gravity do it's thing, kicking Adrian right in her flat chest. "AHH!"

"You get down!" She yelled back, one hand cradling her sore small boobs as she attempted to climb back up alongside Angel, attempting to get her arm around the back of Angel's neck, hook her leg and fall backwards, attempting to pull her down with a risky Russian Leg Sweep attempt.

Angel reached up, trying to snatch the title again, but before she could get her hands on it, Adrian scrambled right back up behind her, throwing her arm around her neck.

"G-get OFF!" she snarled, grabbing at Adrian's arm with one hand, trying to loosen the cosplayer's grip. She had to admit, she was a bit scared. In this position, this high above the mat, she didn't want to fight with Adrian like this. It wouldn't end well for either of them.

It only took a moment though for her fears to become a reality. Adrian suddenly hooked the Latina's leg and yanked her backwards, sending her falling to the mat with the dangerous Russian Leg Sweep, straight of the ladder to the canvas below. Angel's back was already sore from striking the ladder earlier, and now after slamming into the mat from such a high position, she couldn't stop herself from letting out a pained scream, her body arching upwards as the shockwave of the impact raced through her.

She rolled over onto her side afterwards, whimpering softly as she lay there in pain. That fall had hurt, and for the moment, Angel had been taken out of the fight again.

Adrian was soon to find out why no-one had ever done a Russian leg sweep off a ladder before. The principle of a Russian leg sweep was to get the opponent down to the ground with minimal effort and while it had certainly done that to Angel, the problem with doing it from any height was that whether she was in control or not, it was still a very high drop for the cosplayer who a few minutes ago had already taken a big fall from up in the air, leaving her seemingly no better off than the Latina as the two crashed back down to earth.

But as she writhed on the ground, eyes closed shut from the pain, she couldn't help but crack a smile. Who was more skilled between her and Angel could be debated forever considering what had gone on this match, but what people couldn't take from Adrian was how much she was willing to risk everything going for big moves. In her mind, she was going to win because she outright wanted it more than the Latina. Angel wouldn't try something as risky as that to stop Adrian, even if it was the only way to guarantee that the cosplayer wouldn't win, she'd rather stick to tactics that were safer for her like pushing the ladder out instead of ways that would potentially set her up to win much quicker.

Adrian had gone through hell like this before: the I quit match with Taylor, the two matches with Natasha, the tables match with Akashi, heck even Avalanche last year she was risking a lot just by showing up, let alone fighting through a busted up leg. No injury, no big fall, nothing was going to stop Adrian from at least trying to win, even if no hope was left, she'd go down swinging. Could the same be said of Angel? Would she risk life and limb for glory, or would she cut her losses and run? That depended on who wins and how, at least Adrian knew she wouldn't go down without giving as much as she took, and she just took a lot.

Angel lay on her side near Adrian, her eyes shut tight as she tried to block out the pain in her back. She was in a lot of damn pain. It seemed to her like Adrian was fighting smart, constantly finding ways to strike at and attack her back. Knocking her onto the ladder, hitting her back while she was reaching for the titles, then dropping her off with the leg sweep. She hurt, and she really didn't want to get up right now. Hell, she was going to have to find someone to give her a damn back massage afterwards at the rate the match was going.

But she had to get up. She couldn't, she wouldn't let Adrian win this. She had too much riding on this match to lose. She had fought her way up the AFW's ladder her entire career, trying desperately to get her hands on the title, and now she finally had it. She finally had it. She had been through hell and back to earn her place as the champion. Akashi had nearly snapped her in two. A year later, Sarah Gatt had almost done the same. She and Heather had nearly killed each other, and she and Mika had beaten each others bodies to their absolute limits. After all of that though, she had came out on top. She was finally the champion of Friction.

And she was not, she was absolutely not going to let a little prick like Adrian get the better of her and take it all away.

Angel rolled onto her back, her chest heaving up and down with each breath she took. She opened her eyes, staring up at the bright lights above, blinking several times as she started to come out of her initial daze. She hurt like hell, but she had been through worse. She would make it through this, too.

Taking a deep breath, a final deep breath to refocus herself, Angel started to sit up again, slowly pushing up off the mat, ready to get back into the match again.

Adrian coughed as she rolled over to her front, slowly crawling her way to the ropes. After all the falls the two had taken, there wouldn't be any doubt in anyone's mind that whoever won had earned it, heck: if they both survived they probably deserved props. Heather and Angel had nearly killed themselves messing with ladders last year and that was part of why she wanted this to be a ladder match, not to try and psyche Angel out about dealing with the awkward and painful metal objects but to try and one-up her last year, show that she fit in to title matches and was a legit contender, not just some pretender to the throne always looking to just backstab her way up the ranks. And as she crawled back up to her feet she could have sworn she heard a faint applause from some parts of the audience, amazed at just how stubborn this little cheater was being when the chips were down.

"Okay..." she breathed, staggering over to a corner, breathing heavily, trying to steel herself before stomping down on the mat. "FUS!" She yelled, holding the top rope to steady herself as she tried to angle herself to be side on with the Latina, "RO!" She yelled, stomping her foot once more, trying as hard as possible to get Angel to stagger back to her feet. She had already tried this once, it sort of worked, but it wasn't a completley clean shot, this time with no ladder to fall back on, the former cosplayer was aiming to take Angel's head off with a huge superkick. "DAH!"

"FUS RO DAH!" she let out, springing away from the corner, target in sight and her leg just about to strike her victim with as much force as she could muster.

Angel shook her head again, sitting up and the climbing up to her feet, trying to focus and clear her head. It didn't help that she heard Adrian yelling again, like some kind of madwoman. Something about the way she was yelling just got at Angel, got under her skin, and the Latina wanted to shut her the hell up.

She started to turn towards Adrian, towards the sound of her obnoxious yelling, but something was nagging at her. It took her a second, but then she suddenly remembered that Adrian the last time Adrian had yelled like this, she had tried to nail Angel with her superkick. The realization hit her just as she turned to face Adrian, just in time to see her leg shooting through the air towards her.

Angel didn't have much time to really react. In fact, her instincts taking over were the only thing keeping her from being knocked out by the kick! As Adrian's boot flew up towards her face, Angel's body bent backwards, just narrowly dodging it with a Matrix-style maneuver...at least, that was the intent, anyway.

As she bent back, a sharp pain suddenly ran through her spine, a result of her beaten backside getting bent backwards like that. She lost her balance as she avoided the kick, and ended up dropping to the mat again, rolling onto her side and rubbing at her back in pain.

Adrian's foot sailed high above her intented target, the lack off feedback from the air and her own over-zealous nature of her attack sending her staggering a few paces into the ropes, Angel might have been down but Adrian knew that kick hadn't connected. Like the last time where she'd just hit Angel's block, she just couldn't seem to land a clean superkick! Maybe it was because Angel herself claimed to use it as her finisher when she didn't just choke people out with her thighs, she probably knew the motions off by heart or something. Never mind though, Adrian always had a plan B to use against really stubborn opponents.

"Get up!" She snapped, trying to pull Angel up to her feet, not up straight, but at the very least doubled over as she turned her back to try and tangle up her arms with the Latina's. This move was fairly complicated to set up but with how Angel was reeling, she reckoned she might just have the time to pull off her painful back-to-back double underhook piledriver: The Pentakill. She just had to hook up with Angel correctly, turn the two around, squat and lift. my back... Adrian internally whimpered at the prospect of doing lifting after taking the falls she had.

Angel didn't have long to nurse her back, as Adrian grabbed her and hauled her back up to her feet. She had to admit, Adrian was doing a damn good job of working her over and not giving her a chance to fight back. She never expected that the match would have been this rough, not after her match last year against her. She'd never admit it out-loud though.

She stifled a groan as Adrian hauled her up, turning her back and trying to entangle their arms together. Angel wasn't quite sure just what Adrian was planning, but she wasn't going to let the pretender pull it off. She wasn't quite sure how to stop her, either, but she knew she needed to act, and she needed to act fast.

As soon as Adrian had their arms tangled up, and started to turn them, Angel would try to straighten up, trying to lift Adrian up off the mat and throw her over herself. She wasn't looking forward to doing any lifting either, but she was short on ideas, and desperate to stop Adrian from landing another heavy move on her.

Arms sufficiently locked into place, her back infront of Angel's head, Adrian took a deep breath to prepare herself. She had almost pulled this off before, withe her full leg injury, she could do it with just a sore back right? But unfortunately for her, she would never find out as Angel started to lift her up instead. "H-h-hey!" She yelped, feeling herself going up and back. Was Angel about to hit her with her own finishing move?

Trying to untangle her arms, Adrian managed to go beyond just being upside down and high up to falling flat on her face from Angel's toss, while it beat being dropped head first on the canvas, it was definitely not what she wanted, a way back in for Angel.
