AV 13 Main Event: (C)Angel Vs. (C)Adrian "Unification" Match

Angel lurched up to her feet, shaking her head from side to side, trying to get her cobwebs cleared out. She still wasn't completely aware of what was going on with Adrian or where the woman was at, and that made the little voice in the back of her head worry, yelling at her to get her back into the game.

It wasn't until she heard Adrian's cursing above her that the Latina finally got pulled back into reality. No sooner than the word had left Adrian's mouth did the Latina's head snap upwards, and a look of complete and utter panic came across her face, as she realized that her most hated opponent was just seconds away from winning this.

"Oh HELL no!" Angel screamed, turning to face the ladder, grabbing it with both of her hands. For the second time since the match had began, she had a flashback to last year's Avalanche and her match against Heather. Her complete and utter taste for ladders rose to the front of her mind, and those thoughts were the only thing keeping her from scrambling up the ladder after Adrian. Instead, she did what she honestly wished she had done last year: she grabbed on tight to the ladder and gave it a rough shove, trying to push it down, and bring Adrian down with it!

Angel's yell sent shivers down Adrian's spine, snapping her out of her sole focus of the belts. "Nononononono you fucker!!!!" She screeched as Angel grabbed the ladder, rocking it with the intention of sending Adrian to a very unpleasant landing leaving her with a few options.

a) fall and land awkwardly, probably cracking a vital joint of some description on the ladder

b) try to jump off for a safer landing, and then get murdered in the ropes

c) Fuck everything, YOLO, SWAG and so forth: Jump for the belts.

as the ladder shook underneath her, she hurriedly tried to get as stable as she could in the few brief seconds before it all came toppling down and jumped straight up, managing to snap her hands on one of the belts as the ladder fell out from underneath her. "Fffuuuuck!" She yelped, swinging at least 10 feet off the canvas, unwilling to let go of the belts but unable to unhook them from where she was, the former cosplayer was just hanging there, swinging like a pinata at a party.

"Fuck!" Angel yelled as the ladder toppled down, watching Adrian swing back and forth above her. She was still hanging on and Angel was pissed about it. Why couldn't she have just fallen with the ladder?! Why couldn't she just drop to the damn mat like a normal person?! Angel's exasperation was evident as she let out a loud, angry grunt. It wasn't a big deal though. She would just have to get Adrian down, no big deal.

She backed away from Adrian, watching her swing back and forth for a moment. Then, the Latina went running forward, jumping upwards as she neared Adrian again. Her arms shot up, and she tried to snag Adrian by her leg. If the cosplayer wanted to hang out, she'd have to do so with Angel's weight hanging on with her!

Or, she could just let go and fall, which Angel was hoping for.

Adrian gulped as she saw Angel charge at her, her grip was already wearing thin enough that she couldn't curl up to dodge the jump. Heck if she could curl up, she moght have been able to spider her way upwards, wrap her legs around the rod holding the belts from the rafters and retrieved them easily. "Leggo!" Adrian yelled as Angel grabbed ahold of her leg, the weight pulling her down and stretching the former cosplayer out painfully. Gravity was a fearsome opponent and so was Angel, and no matter how hard Adrian tried to resist and stick it out stubbornly, it was only a matter of time before the inevitable occurred.

"NOOOOO!" She screamed at the top of her voice as her grip swiftly gave way, sending her falling back first to the mat, and with the grip Angel had on her leg, it felt and looked like she just took a powerbomb from above the top rope, her spine smashing against the canvas, leaving her to writhe in pain for a brief moment before lying still, barely conscious. She probably should have just fallen with the ladder, but if she had done the normal thing, she wouldn't BE in this match.

Angel latched onto Adrian's lower leg, trying to keep a grip as the cosplayer swung back and forth. Her persistence was soon rewarded, as her own weight helped bring Adrian down, the Latina and her opponent both crashing into the mat.

She struck the mat just a moment before Adrian did, and since she didn't fall as far, she wasn't too rattled by the drop. As Adrian went down, going still on the canvas, Angel was already starting to get up. She had a golden opportunity and she wasn't going to waste it. She turned to the ladder that she had pushed over and leaned down, grabbing it and pulling it back up, taking her time to slide it under the hanging belts. Then, taking a moment to calm her nerves, she gripped the rungs of the ladder, and oh-so-slowly began the climb towards the top.

Let Adrian lie there. Angel didn't care. She looked like she was out, and the Latina had a pair of titles to secure.

"uhhhh...." Adrian groaned as the ladder was set up pretty much directly over her prone body, filtering out some of the lights in just that awkward way where the only ones that feel like they get through are directed straight at the former cosplayer's eyes, stirring some response from her, even if it was just to turn over onto her front so she could open her eyes slowly without being blinded.

"Someone get the number of that truck..." she mumbled as she staggered up to her knees and crawled out from underneath. That fall had been one hell of a drop and her back felt as though it was in pieces, another match she'd probably have to see the trainer after and she was definitely moving a lot slower for now, giving Angel all the time in the world to climb.

Angel slowly climbed her way to the top of the ladder. Every step she took higher made her heart beat faster and faster. Was she scared? There was little doubt she was. After all, she still remembered the horrible crash from last year's Avalanche that had completely wiped her out and cost her a victory.

She had to force those thoughts from her mind though. She tried to focus, tried to climb higher and higher, her eyes focused completely on one of the titles floating above her. She had to get up to it, and she had to get it down before Adrian could get back up.

Adrian crawled out on her hands and knees from under the ladder, still sore as all hell from the previous fall and only now able to see Angel making her way up. "Oh..." she breathed, putting her hand on the first rung as she turned around, hands on the same side of the ladder that the Latina was climbing, putting the former cosplayer right behind her foe as she slowly pushed herself up onto her feet.

Angel didn't notice Adrian pulling herself to the feet, starting to climb up the ladder behind her. She was completed focused on the belts above. She knew that if she looked down, she might freeze up, might realize just how high up she was, and that wasn't a risk she wanted to take.

She kept climbing, and once she reached the top, the Latina reached up, stretching up her hands towards one of the titles. She reached for it, trying to get a grip on it to yank it down, completely unaware of just how close behind her Adrian was.

Adrian winced as she pulled herself back to her feet, staggering away before grabbing the ladder again. "Not... so... fast..." she breathed, putting her foot on the bottom rung, and stretching up, trying to nail Angel with an overhead fist to the lower back. She had to stop Angel, and fast.
