AV 13 Main Event: (C)Angel Vs. (C)Adrian "Unification" Match

Angel didn't seem to mind as Adrian broke the hold. In fact, it only served to help what she had planned! As soon as Adrian released her arms and grabbed the ropes, the Latina took a step back, then another. Up came her leg a second time, this time with a straight kick aimed right for the midsection of Adrian. With any luck, she'd be able to keep working over her hated foe like this, or at least get in a couple more good strong hits on her.

Adrian glared back as she hunched over, trying to get a quick breath of air in-between attacks, it seemed to be one way traffic thus far in the contest as Angel kicked Adrian back into the turnbuckles, putting an extra obstacle in front of Adrian's train of thought to escape. At least the initial shock of the knee was starting to die down, so that was something she had, the more telegraphed kick hadn't winded her as much. Still stung.

Angel felt satisfied as her kick struck Adrian, her boot burying itself into her midsection. She wasn't done with the woman yet, far from it. She planned on keeping Adrian from getting any kind of momentum, from building any kind of steam that could let her turn things around.

She stepped back in and grabbed Adrian by the wrist, giving her a tug to pull her out of the corner that she was trapped in. Then, she would try to whip the cosplayer across the ring, trying to send her flying towards the ring's opposite corner!

Already wincing not a minute into the match, the whip was the little break Adrian needed to start getting some offense in. Making a quick step and a jump as Angel attempted to whip her across the ring to the opposite corner, the American landed and anchored herself to the ground, while Angel still had a hold on her, trying to pull back to whip the Latina into the ropes instead. A fairly orthodox counter it might have been but now it looked like it might be Angel's turn to feel how uncomfortable the turnbuckle pads were.

And feel it the Latina did, her eyes growing wide as Adrian reversed her whip. She was swung around, and within seconds Angel had slammed into the corner, her body jerking as she hit the not-so-soft pads of the turnbuckle. A small hiss passed her lips as her back arched forwards, the woman momentarily caught off-guard by Adrian's sudden reversal.

Adrian was off after Angel like a shot, as soon as she released the whip and sent the Latina towards the corner, she took off running, trying to use her speed to beat Angel's quick thinking and sharp reaction time, leaping up as the champion spun around and trying for a big leaping splash. Attempting to use all her bodyweight to slam her opponent straight back into the corner. She wasn't the heaviest fighter, being about the same weight as Angel, but since force had acceleration as a key factor, not just weight, she figured the faster she hit Angel, the more it would hurt.

Angel didn't even have a chance to try and protect herself, or even to try to get out of the corner. Adrian fired at her like a bullet, splashing right into her. The force of the splash was more than enough to slam Angel right back into the corner again, leaving her reeling and shouting out in response.

"Gyuhh!" came the strained cry from her lips, her body jerking against the turnbuckle. She started to slump down in the corner, her hands grasping for the top ropes to keep herself from dropping too far down. The crowd began to shout out again, some of them yelling at Angel to fight back, not pleased with seeing the Latina lose the advantage that she had held.

"Booosh!" Adrian let out as she collided with Angel, her own momentum almost taking the former cosplayer straight over the top rope and to the outside if she hadn't grabbed the ring post to steady herself. The jeers of an upset crowd were music to her ears as she dropped back down in the ring, the last time she'd tried that splash on PPV it had ended with her smashing head-first into the post and getting rolled up for the loss and while there was no risk of that happening tonight (the rollup at least) it was still a gamble, and it had already paid off as she grabbed Angel by the head, cocking back her right hand for a sharp punch to the head. Nothing fancy, just hopefully effective against the already Rocked Angel.

"Nnng!" came another cry through Angel's lips, as she felt Adrian grab her by the head. She flashed the cosplayer a glare, but before she could react to her a punch came in, smashing right against the side of her head. She went reeling, her head snapping to the side if Adrian let her go, leaving her even more dazed than she already was.

As Angel's head snapped back from the cosplayer's fist Adrian smirked. "Didn't think it was gonna be this hard to put me in my place, did you?" She taunted, trying to shove the Latina down into a seated position in the corner. This had to be her gameplan, the crowd thought, pick her spots, use single big shots instead of a rush of weaker attacks to really rock the AFW champion, and stay in firm control. And it was all working like a charm as she backed away from her opponent, trying to get a running start, she charged back in, aiming to smash her knee straight into Angel's already dizzy face.
