AV 13 Main Event: (C)Angel Vs. (C)Adrian "Unification" Match

Angel didn't seem too surprised when Adrian halted her attack, throwing her arms up against the apron to stop her from slamming her face-first against it. She knew Adrian was slippery and she had a feeling that wasn't going to work anyway. She was more surprised when Adrian's elbow suddenly flew back, smashing into the Latina's face. Angel's head reeled back, as she let go of Adrian, taking a few stumbling steps backwards away from her her. Her hands came up, holding her face gingerly, as once more she found herself open, for the moment at least.

Adrian breathed a sigh of relief as her elbow hit a lot higher than she thought it would. While the cosplayer when she did talk up her skills preferred to flaunt her technique, she wasn't too bad of a brawler, having broken Akashi Tanzaki's nose with a headbutt before, and her elbows could be pretty vicious when she needed them to be, and Angel was finding that out.

"Get over here!" She yelled, turning around to try and grab Angel by the head with both arms, attempting to take advantage of the sudden stunning shot by slamming her face first into the ring apron.

Once again, it seemed like the tables were turned on Angel. By the time she had lowered her hands from her face, Adrian had grabbed her, and shoved her straight forward towards the apron. The Latina didn't even have time to blink as she was forced face-first into the apron, her head snapping back from it with a painful cracking sound. She stumbled back another step, grabbing her face again and groaning out in pain, as she inadvertently turned from Adrian. Her back was left open to the woman, as the Latina tried to deal with the pain of yet another blow into her face.

Adrian grunted with effort as Angel's skull bounced off the apron, and she wasn't about to let her effort go to waste as she grabbed the Latina by the hair and the waistband, attempting to bundle her back into the ring. There was a ladder already inside, and sticking around the outside was a risky strategy. Even if she managed to knock Angel out she'd have to climb back in the ring (in whatever state she was in), set up the ladder, climb it, then unhook the title belts from whatever rubix cube lock set up they had going on up in the rafters. The less steps between KO and victory, the better, thought Adrian as she jumped back in the ring, trying to get a bit of space between her and Angel by heading back to one of the corners opposite.

"Come on... wakey wakey time." Adrian taunted, grabbing the top rope and stomping her foot. "Fus.... ro....dah..." she chanted to herself in time with the foot stomps, trying to get the still stunned Angel to stand up.

Angel gave a shriek as she felt Adrian grabbing her by her hair. Sure, she had done the same thing to Adrian twice already this match, but it didn't mean she enjoyed having her own hair yanked on. Before she could get a hand up though to try and get Adrian to let go, she felt the woman hauling her off her feet, tossing her back into the ring.

She rolled along the canvas until she hit the ladder, stopping there beside it. She lied there for a moment, the Latina's head still lost in a daze. It wasn't until she felt the ring shaking from Adrian's stomps that she started to move again, slowly rolling onto her stomach, then pushing herself up to her feet. She slowly got up, unaware of just what Adrian was doing at the moment.

Stomping in Rhythm, waiting for Angel to wise, Adrian was firing on all cylinders and ready to shoot her way into the history books, side stepping across the ring as Angel slowly rose to her feet, waiting to get in range for a huge superkick she named "FUS RO DAH!" It might be early in the match, but the Latina seemed to be unaware, this one big shot could knock her straight out.

Angel rose up to her feet, ever-so-slowly. She still looked like she was trying to shake off Adrian's earlier blows, still looked like she was in a daze. She really didn't seem to know where she was!

But when Adrian yelled out her finisher's name, throwing her leg straight up towards Angel, the Latina snapped out of it. Her instincts took over, Angel going on full auto-pilot as her arms shot up in front of her. She didn't know what was coming, she just knew she needed to protect herself, knew that she couldn't let Adrian get another hit in on her.

She just managed to get her arms up in time, Adrian's superkick striking right against her raised arms. Thankfully she was protecting herself, so Adrian wasn't able to strike her head or knock her out, but the force from the kick was still enough to send Angel sprawling. She went falling towards the mat, straight backwards, amazed at the strength behind Adrian's kick...

...and as she fell, realized just where she was standing.

It wasn't the mat that Angel hit as she dropped down, but instead she landed on the ladder lying behind her, the same one that she had thrown into the mat earlier. Her back struck hard against it, causing the Latina to let out another shriek, a banshee-like cry of suffering as she fell onto the hard metal of the object. Her back arched upwards in pain, her eyes nearing bulging out of her head as the shockwave from the impact coursed through her body.

She lied there for a moment, then rolled off of the ladder to the mat, curling up slightly with a light whimper of pain. She wasn't knocked out, but Adrian's kick could still be counted as a success, having left Angel left writhing in pain at the woman's feet.

Adrian looked away, trying to get the maximum elevation on her leg as her superkick blasted her opponent in the arms, sending her back. But as Angel screamed as she fell on the ladder, Adrian thought that the kick had hit clean. Well... clean-ish, the shock of landing on the ladder probably got the scream of agony but watching her writhing on the floor: the cosplayer's heart raced.

This is it! She told herself, desperately trying to roll Angel off the ladder and free it up for her own ends. I've done it! she had to without all urge to celebrate, that title wasn't going to be wrapped around her waist unless she climbed up and got it down. Grabbing the ladder the challenger tried to set it up directlyunder the swaying title belts "come on come on..." she muttered, trying to get it just right before making the first few steps up the ladder.

Angel lied there on her side, momentarily unable to do...well, much of anything, really, as Adrian went for the ladder, going to set it up nearby. Her eyes were closed, Her body heaving as she took a series of slow, labored breaths. She had been through a lot of pain during her wrestling career, but few things compared to the feeling of having her back crash into the ladder like that.

She could hear Adrian shuffling around with the ladder, even if she wasn't watching her, and the sound just filled her with more hate towards the woman. She hated Adrian. She hated freaking ladders. This whole damn match was stupid and she hated it and she was going to lose unless she got back up right then and there and put a stop to the wannabe champion making a play for the titles.

She forced herself to roll over again, forced herself to start to get back up. It was going to take her a moment though. She still needed to clear her head and get her bearings back. She wasn't going to make the same mistake she did last year and go scrambling up a ladder like some kind of crazy person.

Not until she was ready to scramble up it, anyway.

"Almost there, just a few more steps..." Adrian muttered to herself, eyes glued on the prize as she shakily made her way up the ladder, nerves trying to undo her at the last moment. Three Quarters of the way up, she stretched, trying to get her hands on one of the belts as they slowly swung from the rafters but only succeeding in knocking them around more. "Goddammit!" She yelped as her fingers brushed her own belt. Taking another risky step up as she waited for the belts to stabilize for her to grab, completely unaware of what was going on below her. The former cosplayer only wanted to see two things right now and they were both almost within reach.
