Kurai vs. Songbird

Songbird would release Kurai from the submission and back off in order to wait for her to stand up. She can see that Kurai's back took a bit of a "beating" as she was trying to recover. Kurai then slowly stood back up in her fighting stance and looked as if she was waiting for Songbird to make her move. Songbird would answer by attempting to throw a big punch to her stomach before a high kick to the head.

Kurai felt better when her opponent release her and allowed her to get to her feet. Kurai had even been able to get into a defensive stance. Then Songbird attacked again, and threw a punch towards Kurai's stomach which Kurai blocked relatively easily, but her eyes widened as she saw the kick coming towards her. Her back in too much pain for the acrobatics needed to dodge the attack, Kurai would push forward, grabbing the fist she had blocked, and using it as leverage would attempt to push Songbird down.

Songbird's eyes went wide when her punch was blocked, but it didn't stop her from going for the kick. But Kurai was quick in her mind as she was on her feet that she used the blocked fist as leverage to try and push Songbird down. Songbird would grunt as her combo didn't work and decided to go for a different approach. This time, she would try to grab at Kurai and throw her over to the ropes to bounce off. She has a devastating move coming for her once she gets back.

Kurai caught the look of shock on her opponents face, but it was to be expected, kenpo is the strongest martial art in countering, so she had to be able to counter most moves. But Songbird showed she could think on her feet as well, as she tranistioned the move into a throw towards the ropes. Kurai decides to try and use this to her advantage. She will bounce off the ropes, letting it increase her already formidable speed, as she would charge and drop down for a leg sweep on Songbird.

When Songbird threw Kurai to the ropes, she would ready and steady herself to give off a massive punch to the face. But she didn't expect Kurai to use the ropes to her advantage, and she learned that the hard way by being victim of her opponent's speeding leg sweep. "WOAAH! OOF!" Songbird cried out as she flew before landing hard on her front side. She would groan and tried to get back some oxygen before facing Kurai again.

Kurai's quick thinking was begining to pay off, as she felt the sweep be extremely effective in bringing her opponent to the floor. Kurai knew to win this she must keep the pressure on. So, she tried to get on top of her Songbird, and lay across her back, putting her in a tight headscissors. "Gra!" She would growl, panting from the effort.

Songbird was struggling to get back up, but Kurai hit her with another setback as she went on her back. From there, Kurai would wrap her legs around Songbird's head in a tight headscissors. "RRGH! MMMPH!" Songbird muffled as she felt the pain and pressure coming to her head and neck. She would try to resist the pain while holding onto Kurai's legs to try and pry herself loose.

Kurai Was able to wrap her legs around Songbird's head, and she locked in her headscissors. She heard her opponent crying out from within the hold, hoping to escape, and she felt Songbirds, hand begining to try to pry her legs open. Kurai would try her best to keep the hold locked in, and if she succeeded she would grab Songbird's legs and yank up, hoping to distract her from the thought of pulling at Kurai's legs with pain in her own.

Songbird was trying to pry her head loose from Kurai's headscissors while catching her breath every few moments. But then, she felt her opponent grabbing her legs and pulling them forward almost like a reverse boston crab. She would cringe in pain, but shouted, "NNGH! I won't submit!" Feeling determined to get out of the submission, Songbird would attempt to punch at Kurai's legs to make her release her head a little more and better her chances of escape.

Through serious determination, Kurai was able to keep the hold going, even amidst her opponent's struggles. Kurai's attempt to pull on her opponent's legs worked as well, leading to some pain she hope would be enough to stop her struggles. But evidently, Songbird would not submit, and she started punching Kurai's legs. "Gah.." Kurai groan after the third consecutive hit to the same area. The repeated punches began to take their toll and the hold began slipping ever so slightly.
