Strange Things Afoot

"To be honest I'm not quite sure if I have been here." The name out displayed out front didn't ring and bells, though not far from where they were setting she she focused for a moment and something was clicking. "Well, kinda. If this is where I think it is a couple of decades ago I might have been in here a couple of times for small local wrestling shows. Specifics are blurry at best but...How did they fit the ring in here?...oh yeah." She grins as she was remembering some things about back then. "Maybe things go on here more often, I don't know. It's not like I visit every bar or similar type places in town." She thinks about it a bit more "Though come to think of it I might have been here a year or two ago to watch some hockey games, but sometimes if it's a big one going on sometimes you don't really notice where you are while you're searching for somewhere with a tv and other people you know. Sorry if that doesn't help."

She mentions she wasn't one that had a 'regular spot' to go to. Some places she's been to more than others, but nothing yet stood out to the point where she'd put her branding on.

Alaina nodded and shrugged. Kelly seemed to have been a little bit of everywhere but didn't really settle in one spot. The opposite of Alaina in that regard. Alaina saw a nice setup inside and took a liking to the place. "All right, I gotcha. Like outside of wrestling stuff what has been going on? I know that they is more to ya than just what goes on inside the ring." Alaina asked, curious as to what else was new with Kelly and what her other plans were other than just "wrestle matches."

“Believe it or not that’s been pretty much most of my life since high school. Sometimes though I wish it wasn’t. Sure I’ve had time for family and other things, but I’ve missed a lot. Seems only the past few years or so have I allowed my overall load in wrestling to lighten.” She mentions with the training facility she’s been co-running lately that’s become like a full time job and she’s taken less match bookings on weekends because of it, though can still find time to travel when where Alaina wrestles most of the time comes calling. She mentions that a near career/life threatening injury sucked because she couldn’t do much while recovering and as mentioned before while she did have other interests, wrestling was pretty much her life and it sucked she couldn’t do it.

“Lately though just typical house wife stuff, though the nest is a lot emptier than what it used to be.” She tried to think of other stuff to mention, which she wasn’t a one trick pony, but it felt too natural to talk about ring-related matters. She figured she’d ask the same question to Alaina, maybe it might help her come up with something to mention and not sound lame. “How about you?”

Alaina nodded and listened to Kelly drinking her drink. Alaina listened as Kelly talked about the injury. That had to have been rough.

"I am just trying to do my thing in the ring and keep track of the family. Things are a bit hectic at home in California but nothing we can't handle. Other than that I am with Bryan when his schedule allows or with Julia and her siblings." Alaina said with a smile. "I try to keep it simple."

The thought of Alaina doing her own thing both in-ring and out of it made her wonder who was more better off, or less stacked, then again Kelly wasn’t one who made things easy for herself. “Try balancing my life and family, you won’t last long’ she smirks. She looks around for a moment before asking “I wonder if anything’s going on tonight, notice anything?”

Alaina shook her head at Kelly for a second, then paused. That sounded more like the old Kelly. As Alaina looked around she hid a giant smile, happy to see that Kelly was moving in the direction of her old self.

Over at a corner of the bare Alaina saw a sort of ring being set up... but it was for oil wrestling. Alaina chuckled a bit as the very attractive young college age girls came out and were there more for show than anything athletic. "Well there is that. They wouldn't last against us, but like it wouldn't be fair. We'd hurt them since they aren't trained at all." Alaina said with a shrug, figuring she would watch the show for a bit before looking back at Kelly. "This is sort of like the crap ya hated about wrestling and the non-matches that were built up as being matches huh?"

“Hm?” She turns to where Alaina was looking and saw what was being set up as well. She tried to look at it with an open mind, though part of her wanting to tear it up verbally. “From the looks of it at least they’re not trying to call themselves legit.” That is what she hoped anyway, wanting to give them the benefit of the doubt. From how the set up was it didn’t look like to her that they were trying to call themselves legit wrestling with legit wrestlers.

She would attempt to watch and not silently critic the shit out of it and everything that happened, though she might need the occasional reminder from Alaina to come back down to Earth. She wasn’t afraid of heckling though, getting some amusement out of it.

Alaina sat back, preparing to cheer for whomever she picked out to seem like the toughest girl in the contest. She finished her drink and was feeling good about everything.

However, a bartender approached and looked over the pair of actual wrestlers sitting there. "So, does either of you have any interest in entering? They are looking for more women in there, the more the merrier!" He said, sliding each of them a drink as they sat there. Alaina raised her eyebrow and looked over at Kelly. "So what do you say?"

Having a feeling of one of the ladies Alaina was backing she commented to her "At this pace if she keeps it up we may be sending your race horse to the glue factory heh." Kelly herself didn't have anyone she felt like backing in particular.

She thought about it for a moment when asked if she wanted to get in there as well. “Nah, it’s like what you said earlier, it wouldn’t be fair.” She replied. Plus with how things were she felt no reason for her to be there. “If you want to that’s fine” not objecting if Alaina wanted to get in there. “Though if you did what would be trying to prove?” She didn’t expect an answer out of Ala.

Alaina shrugged and sat back. "I think I will just enjoy the show tonight, but thanks for the offer." Alaina said politely to the bartender. She got another margarita and sat back and sipped. She looked back over at Kelly and leaned closer. "So how are you feeling? Like, do you feel like your mind is more clear than it was earlier?"
