the Yang vs Tifa one I feel comes down to a single point in the video, its not the fall from the sky its the her tanking getting punched through a concrete pillar holding up a highway that gave her the fight. They used that as a basis for how much damage she could take and when comparing it against Tifa's limit breaks they decided Yang could survive them. Yang doesn't do well against blades but Tifa doesn't use them.

Now I was never convinced that Yang could match Tifa when it came to skill, and to be fair in the video Tifa does outfight Yang she just can't put her down.

The main thing I have with Tifa though is unlike with Cloud who we see perform crazy feets in Advent Children, Dirge of Cerberus, etc, we never see her doing anything crazy. Her attacks are seen breaking benches but nothing else, and while she can beat monsters so too can Yang and its impossible to compare the beasts themselves. Yang is shown destroying a mech that destroyed a concrete pillar with a single charged up punch, Tifa doesn't have such clear feats. And usually these things come down to whose feats are more impressive.

Kirby defeats eldritch abominations and cosmic horrors on a near daily basis. Buu stood no chance at all.

Link vs. Cloud was biased because Link had a full arsenal taken from several different games. Cloud had two shit level Materia and his worst weapon. That's...not even fair. Not even remotely.

Even the strongest versions of Link wouldn't be able to touch a fully powered Cloud equipped with his best gear and a full 16 Materia, and that's not even counting Summon materia (which were banned).

Cloud has no counter for the hourglass or Fierce Deity that makes him a God. I also disagree, they gave link the pretty basic starter pack in terms of his load up. The gauntlets, bow, Pegasus boots, heroes bow, hook shot, boomerang bombs and Master Sword are pretty standard items he has in almost all his games. There were far better and more unique items that they could've given Link. It was kind of weird that they mentioned that the Master Sword counters Cloud's cells but I guess it kind of makes sense due to the fact it negates and seals magic. I'm not sure if that qualifies as magic though...

Cloud can equip Counter Magic+Stop. There. Every time Link hits Cloud, he gets Stop cast on him and can't move.

Or Cloud can equip Counter Magic+Ultima and Quad Magic+Ultima. Every time Link hits Cloud, he's going to get hit by Ultima four times in a row.

Cloud's cells aren't magic. They're biological, so the Master Sword negating and sealing that is kind of silly.

There are a LOT of broken as fuck Materia combinations in FF7, and that's not even counting the stuff you can do with Summons (Final Attack+Phoenix ensures that Link can't win). Link just doesn't have an answer for most of them.

I dunno if it's been said, but Death Battle's DBX -- the Battles with no research -- tend to have more sensible winners than the ones with 'research'
