Euro 2016

The first game is underway, and I was curious about who y'all think will win? Whom are you pulling for?

I am supporting Russia but they have a snowball's chance in hell. They are one of the slowest teams in the tourney, and they have both England and Wales in the group. If they get out, which isn't terribly likely, their problems are only going to be exacerbated. I hope to see good performances from Kokorin and Shatov, and a group performance that they can build upon for 2018. I reckon France is going to win the whole thing, although they don't look too good against Romania at the moment. Belgium are a solid team too, though.

Also, in the Copa America, USA USA USA USA.

I support the team that will slam dunk the most home runs on the rink.

I might be getting my sports mixed up.

I cannot imagine what that is like.

It sucks. At least the Welsh and Scottish expect not to make it far, every major tournament all of England has a collective failure of pattern regocnician and think that THIS year will be different.

We lost one of our defenders and were not really good before the tournament started. We can compensate that, but I did not even know the replacement defender that was brought in for Rüdiger.
I agree with England going nowhere as usual.
Italy has many injured players and a good goalkeeper that still is pushing or already 40, and plays from a defense with only the marginalest offense possible so I think they will wall their way into the elimination rounds and then be out of Dodge.

My personal pick is Spain.
