Hardcore 101 - [Not Open]

The night was winding down on an average episode of Friction, and the arena was starting to file out. There were a few matches left in the program, but nothing too heavy - for the most part, the major pieces were done, and everything was getting in place for Avalanche. The big show. The grand event. What people were going to drop their hard earned yen down for. Everyone was happy, eager for the upcoming PPV. Smiles all about. Hyped.

River Styx couldn't allow that.

Her music came booming over the loudspeakers, turning a few heads and getting boos before she even appeared on the ramp. She was used to it. She accepted it. She wanted it. And as she came from the back and gave the crowd her usual one-finger salute, she only got more of what she wanted.

"Hello, happy people." She spoke from her microphone as she made her way down to the ring in her ring attire - or, what passed for that with River Styx. Baggy jeans and a black Led Zepplin t-shirt weren't exactly the mainstays of your usual wrestling costume, but then, Styx wasn't your usual wrestler. Some might argue she wasn't a wrestler at all, but fuck them. Her boots were big and studded, with the steel toe on display. She'd come dressed for war.

"You missed me, I know." Oddly enough, she didn't make her way into the ring just yet. Instead, she roamed around the aoriand started reaching under the apron. "I know some of you guys are ready to leave and go home to your cramped little houses and your chopsticks and your wives who may or may not be putting out tonight. I just have one little thing to do, here. Want to correct a mistake. Want to talk about Avalanche.Specifically, I'd like to discuss the quality of matches on this ticket."

She found a barbwire bat, conveniently placed under the ring. Nice and long, with a bush of the spikey metal wrapped on the business end like a small bush. A little antique for her tastes, but it'd do nicely.

"Now, I'll be honest, some of these are good matches. Not my taste, but you know, I'm not gonna complain. Some of these, though, look like they were designed by a five year old. I mean..." She took out a program for the event and scanned it over before she continued. Accuracy was important. "Okay, we have a - and I can barely believe I'm saying this out loud - a 'Santa's Little Helper' match." She sighed and  ran hand over the peach fuzz that was her hair. "An 'iron tummy ski bunnies' match? Christ."

She brought out a bag of thumbtacks. Just thumbtacks. Brought back some fond memories of a street fight that spilled into a supply store in California. Good times.

"CERN match? Because...the CERN headquarters is in Switzerland? Okay, I guess, sure, but seriously...a lumberjack match with labcoats is still a lumbjerjack match. You could have it in a laboratory or something, that would at least be entertaining, but no - let's have them put on labcoats. Genius. Someone was paid money to come up with that idea, think about it."

Kendo stick? Never used it, but maybe today would be a first time. She was in an adventurous mood, and the image of her swing into into some dumb bitch's head definitely appealed. You really couldn't beat that sound, too. THWACK.

"Oh, and of course, we've got a hentai match. For the title...with the person who had it last, and...who gives a fuck. Look." Styx groaned, crumbled up the paper, and threw it in the audience, hitting some unsuspecting bald guy in the side of his. "Here's my point - we have all this room for all this bullshit in the PPV, but I don't see one damn hardcore match. Not one. You know why? Because it’s not cute enough. It’s not sexy enough. Because Friction doesn’t have the balls to get down and dirty in front of the whole world. If it’s not about giving one of the media darlings facetime or getting a fuck in the middle of the Lukretia doesn’t give a shit."

Chairs? Check. She threw that in. Table? Check. She left that on the outside of the ring. No ladder, though. Shame

”But don’t worry - I’ve got you covered. We’re going to have some real action. Right here. Right now.” Styx slid into the ring and made her way to the center. She picked up the barbwire bat on the way and slung it over her shoulder, taking care not to prick herself with it. ”Nice and simple: if there’s anyone in the back who wants a real fight, come out here right now and you’ll get one. No limit. Forget the ring, we’ll fight all over the place. Come down her and become famous.”

Styx propped open a chair and sat down, staring towards the entrance. Friciton was pretty low on real hardcore wrestlers, and most of the biggest fish had already swam their way to Switzerland. She was curious to see who'd answer the call. For all the posturing, she was pretty much just bored. Liberty hadn't been around too much, lately, and she was running low on playmates.

...not a Kawaii, though. Please, God, not a Kawaii...

Danika had waited long enough to make her debut. Now was an open challenge. This River Styx took so long to say so little.... such a waste of energy. Surely someone so inefficient in how they went about their business would be a great candidateto fall to Danika in the ring.

As her music played Danika walked quietly and confidently to the ring, locking her eyes on River Styx in a cold stare. She heard of this woman, and knew of her brutality. However this woman did not know of Danika, and being an unknown quantity worked to Danika's advantage.

As Danika entered the ring, she continued to glare at Styx. "Let us fight, yes?" She said, settling into a fighting stance, showing no emotion whatsoever.

River Styx had a few questions.

First and foremost, who the fuck was this? True, she didn't pay much attention to AFW outside of the meager, husk of an operation that was the hardcore division, but she felt reasonably certain she was familiar with most of the non-Kawaii roster. If not by names, at least by faces. But she'd never seen this chick before, and with a look like that she would have remebered. The girl looked like she just stumbled in from a rave.

Secondly, was this really the best the back could produce? She wasn't expecting the top 'talent' to show up, but she wanted a better showing than this. She knew Lukretia didn't give a shit about anything that wasn't a wet crotch, but God, had she really let the talent slide.

Styx sighed and looked Whoever-The-Fuck-This-Is over, like a lump of coal in a stocking. She was at least dressed for a fight and not a stripper tryout, so she had that much going for her. When life gives you lemons...

"Okay, bitch." She propped open the chair and sat down in it like it was meant to be used, resting a hand on her knee while she looked up and spoke through the microphone. "Who are you and why should I give a fuck?"

Danika sighed. More talk? If she had to entertain this woman's obsession for idle chat then so be it. Initially it seemed like the fastest way to start the action. Danika walked to the center of the ring still locking eyes with Styx who was now sitting.

"I am Danika Gorski. I am new to the roster and heard you issue a challenge." Danika stated matter of factly. "Why you should care?"

Danika was never much of a talker. Even if she wanted to, she didn't think she could go into some tirade about being the next big thing or whatever these time-wasters today did. It was then that a lightbulb went off. Danika didn't just keep looking at Styx, she almost seemed to be looking straight through her..... and she smiled. As soon as Danika smiled, she sprang forward looking to swing her right foot into the side of Styx's head so hard that it knocked her out of the chair!

"Actions speak louder than words, yes?"

Danika. It was good to have a name, so later on, when Styx was talking about this match, she wouldn't have to constantly refer to her as 'that bitch with the kendo stick stuck up her ass'.

It was a pleasing mental image, but it was untimely and unceremoniously robbed from Styx's memory when a foot cracked her in the face. Danika was a small, chit of girl, but the bitch could hit fast and put some decent pain into those boots. Maybe this would have a little potential. She had the spirit, even if the body didn't match.

Styx was knocked off the chair and rolled off her shoulders, landing in a crouch as the chair tumbled between them. She wiped the spittle off her chin and looked back up at Danika with a wild grin. "Oh, indeed." She tuned out the arena as the crowd laughed, already cheering the new girl on. That wouldn't last. "Let's get loud."
