Poll: Should we change the name of Avalanche?

So, long story short, KC and I were discussing changing the name of Avalanche.

While it is AFW's biggest ppv, we feel the Avalanche name and theme really kind of holds it back, as while Summer Splash represents a more fun and laid back show, Avalanche doesn't really do much to represent the ppv itself. Plus, its a bitch trying to find proper pics for match cards and posters.

The replacement name we were considering was "Wrestle Queendom" obviously based off of NJPW's "Wrestle Kingdom" since it makes a clear statement that THIS is the top show in AFW wrestling.

However, we are open to other name ideas if anyone wants to write a suggestion below.

Just a rapid fire thought- What about something along the lines of "Apex" or "Zenith" to reflect the high caliber talent?

I never had an issue with the name Avalanche, especially if you dig for meaning. Its a serious natural disaster that comes when something gives and all that built up snow comes crashing down. On paper that fits for a winter PPV.

I'm not married to the name, for as little skin as I have in the game when it comes to these events. I do however, really hate "Wrestle Queendom". It feels so bland and lifeless. I'd really like to see what other names can be workshopped before actually casting a vote on the poll myself.

Well for now we're just voting on whether the name should be changed with a suggestion from us moderators. If the polls ultimately decide we change the name but not for Wrestle Queendom, we'll have another poll later on to decide the new name of Avalanche.

Ah, alright- Honestly, Wrestle Queendom isn't very original- I think AFW deserves better, or at the very least, leave it as Avalanche.

Pro Wrestling EVE has done Wrestle Queendom as their big annual show for a few years (don't think they held it this year because of covid, but not entirely sure). Idk if it matters whether a name's been used elsewhere or not, but just throwing that out there.

I've always liked Avalanche personally. Has a certain history to it that makes it feel special imo. That said, I don't feel extremely strong about it either way, and I'm not the one having to find pics and art for the aesthetic stuff lol. So I'm just gonna sit this one out, and will accept whatever the consensus ends up being.

Well it's just even if we search for deeper meaning behind the name, it's never going to escape the same aesthetic imagery of falling snow from a mountaintop. Finding themes to liven up the occasion is much more arduous than for let's say Summer Splash, which has more creative liberty and room for interpretation behind the name. We've once had it Gladiator-themed and such. It's why Ava has primarily been theme-less every year, and will be this year aside from more pictures of falling snow >_>

I voted no, but even if you guys decide to change it, I would really like for the name to not be Wrestle Queendom, given there is a real line of these events by Pro Wrestling EVE

I've never had a problem with Avalanche personally or that it lacks a particular theme from year to year. Being the yearly "Winter/Christmas event" around the holidays feels like the occasion to celebrate in itself. I'm open to throwing ideas around for name changes regardless while we're bringing it up.
