Emily Nelson vs. Peggy McIntyrePeggy

The hold was released but all Peggy could do was flop lifelessly to the mat. Her body was so wracked with pain that she could only lay there paralyzed as she convulsed simply trying to breathe. Her back hurt to move in any way. Breathing hurt. Peggy wasn't sure, but if she were a betting woman she would put money on having to take a couple weeks before being medically cleared after the damage done after being stuck for so long.

Gasping for breath, Peggy stared up at the arena lights. Down and out there was nothing she could do.

Slowly, and agonizingly, Emily pushed herself back to her knees, and then to her feet. She felt worn after this match, and doubly so after that very tiring ceiling hold. Looking at Peggy sprawled on her front, the Scottish Knight couldn't help but shake her head to herself. "Should'a bloody tapped," she managed to breathe, sweat dripping down her forehead. "Bloody stubborn girl..."

Hobbling over to Peggy, she grabbed a handful of her foe's red hair and yanked her up. Dragging her too her feet, she breathed and tried to break into a run, hoping to drive her foe face-first into the turnbuckle! She was getting ready to finish Peggy off, but also wanted to make sure that the rude Irish girl remembered this match.

Peggy was limp and putty in Emily's arms as she was pulled up. Peggy was so out of it she barely knew where the was. The rushing forward was a blur to her and when her head smashed off the turnbuckle her legs went limp and she slumped down, reaching out weakly to catch the ropes and grab on.

Largely Emily's grip on her was the only thing keeping her vertical at all. Peggy felt more like a plaything to Emily than a wrestler. She could easily finish her off now but seemed to be setting Peggy up for something else. Something she had no ability or energy to stop even though she desperately wanted to.

As she slammed Peggy against the corner post, Emily felt her own legs give way for a bit. Gasping, she was forced to lean briefly against her opponent, pressing a shoulder against her back as she caught her breath. Digging deep into her reserves of energy to keep going, she wrapped her arms around Peggy's waist and turned her around, and for a brief moment was touching her forehead to her opponent's. The crowd hushed as, for a moment, it looked like the two of them were about to make out.

Nothing could have been further from the truth: using her grip, Emily tried to hoist Peggy up onto a sitting position atop the corner post. Climbing up against her, Emily raised an arm to the audience, signaling that she was about to do her big finisher.

And then, if Peggy did nothing to stop her, she would wrap one arm around her opponent's head and the other around her thigh, before lifting her upside down vertically and dropping back, aiming to nail her with her signature sheer brain drop, the Nelson Caber!

Peggy was limp and felt herself lift up into the air and was vaguely aware that she was dropping. She felt the wind, and more importantly felt the impact for a split second before the world went black. Her body slumped lifelessly in a heap as she hit the mat apparently to all that Peggy had been knocked out by Emily's finisher!

Maybe that was for the best, so Peggy wouldn't feel the flood of emotions from defeat to embarrassment for having had victory snatched from her grasp all while looking up at her victorious foe.

The entire mat vibrated from the combined collision of the two women as they plummeted back down to the ring. Landing on her butt, Emily bounced slightly off the mat before lying sprawled on her back, taking a few, vital seconds to breathe after executing that big move. Next to her, she saw Peggy lying face down, her face obscured by the fiery red sprawl of her hair. She looked like she was out like a light: if she was still conscious after taking the Nelson Caber like that, Emily would be amazed.

Gingerly, she crawled over to Peggy and shoved her over, still a little out of breath as she lay across the other girl and hooked a leg. In an instant, the ref girl was next to them, and the countdown started all over again.

"ONE..."

"TWO!"

"THREE!"

Peggy had no idea the match ended, she was still out cold. Peggy would be able to feel her embarrassment later. For now she lay motionless and blissfully unaware of the incredible pain her head and neck would be in. She would know later just how incredibly Emily came back from the brink of defeat against her.

The bell rang, signalling that the match was at long last over. Exhausted, Emily rolled off of Peggy, her chest heaving as she was finally allowed to lie back and rest a bit. Her shoulders, back and head all throbbed a dull pain after all that Peggy had put her through, and ever part of her body now just wanted to sit back and relax. Something told her that she was going to need a week long break after this match.

She was dimly aware of the cheering of her fans, and even more dimly aware of the ref girl raising one of her arms in victory. Groaning, she slowly and painfully made her way to her feet, hobbling a little as she did so. In retrospect, she shouldn't have gone for a big finish like that, as it taxed her battered body further than it should have. Still, it was worth it just to defeat Peggy in style.

Speaking of whom...Emily glanced over at the KO'd Irish girl. Already, the ref next to her, patting at her head and trying to rouse her awake...

After a moment Peggy woke up to bright lights shining down in her face and the referee trying to talk to her. A flood of pain in her head and neck caused her to groan, and her hands immediately covered her face. She tried to lift her head off the mat but all that pain was amplified. She rolled to her side, facing away from Emily. She couldn't stand to look anyone in the face right now, not after she choked and lost.

"I fuckin' blew it again. Why should I even fuckin' bother at this point..." Peggy muttered to herself. She felt like a waste of Alaina and Julia's time. Those two helped her improve but time and time again she fell short in the ring, just throwing way all their time. Her reason for coming over was to show Japan that her and her aunt in the 80's were more than just jobbers. All she seemed to be doing was losing.

She just laid on the mat, figuring Emily was doing a victory lap to take in all the cheers. She just rolled over towards the ropes, trying to roll underneath the bottom rope and slink away. Peggy rolled off the apron and onto the ground, standing at first. When she took her first steps she was limp legged and stumbled, falling down on her hands and knees. After crawling a few feet Peggy hobbled up again and made her way towards the ramp, her hands on the back of her head and neck which still surged with pain.

Emily saw the downcast look that Peggy wore as she woke up and began to roll away. She knew that look all too well: it was the look of someone who had suffered one defeat too many, who was severely starting to doubt themselves and their career. It was the same look that Natasha had, when she was having her bout of depression in her feud with Valley Girl.

"Oy, McIntyre, wait," she called to the Irish girl before she could roll out of the ring. She still felt a bit wobbly, but she nonetheless stepped after Peggy and extended her hand to her. "Ye gave me one hell of a bout. I think yer aunt would be proud of ye."
