Okay so

Yesterday acuya and I were talking about some stuff and it inspired me to dig out my tarot deck, which I haven't actually used in a few months.  So I figure I should probably brush up on it, and why not give you guys some fun in the process.  Post here and I'll bust out a short reading for you, which you should probably not take super seriously, and put it here in the thread

-this should probably go without saying but all this shit is for entertainment purposes only; although I will try to give you solid advice irrespective of occult phenomena, if you do what I say and then get hit by a truck please do not sue me.  i'm an undergrad so you wouldn't get anything anyway
-When you post in the thread I am gonna need the following two things: one, a question you want answered (unless you just want a general 'state of things' type reading, in which case, say 'no question' or something), and two, what kind of spread you want.  Your options are a single-card draw, a three-card spread (past, present, future), or the universal six-card spread (a bit more comprehensive than either of the others).  If you want me to do a celtic cross spread you're gonna need to offer me a decent bribe because those are more complex and take much longer to write up

The three-card spread represents the past, present, and future of the situation you're asking about.  Keep in mind 'future' doesn't mean immutable or inevitable futures, just a possibility (which usually follows from the previous two cards)

your past signifier is the Ace of Swords.  Swords in general are an intellectual suit and usually represent action of some kind.  The Ace of Swords can indicate a lot of things, most of which are positive - wisdom, understanding of truth, knowing how to appropriately apply knowledge, etc.  In the context of this particular spread and your question I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it represents the beginning of a cycle of understanding or intellectual growth - in more practical terms, you've been developing professionally (which is why you have new opportunities available to you)

your present signifier is The Star.  the Star is one of the best cards you can get because it represents good fortune, success, & creativity.  It's often applied in a sense of 'follow your dreams' or 'do what you really want to do', like when somebody vacillates over what the best choice is for themselves.  In the context of the present it means you should take control, be proactive, and pursue your goals

your future signifier is the Five of Cups.  Usually this is a pretty negative sign because it's usually interpreted as disappointment or disillusion with relationships or status in life.  In the context of your question, though - especially considering the Star in the present - it's a pretty good thing to see here because it can also be interpreted as desire to move on from the status quo.  that's pretty telling when we're thinking about possible transitions in life.

The TLDR answer: if you're not satisfied with your current position, take charge of the situation and go for it. Even if it's just a lateral move, a change can be good for you.

your single-card draw is The Magician. the Magician is probably one of the most straightforward major arcana, especially from an occult perspective. It usually signifies that you have the power to take control of the universe around you and shape it according to your desires. Sometimes, especially in bigger spreads, the Magician means an opportunity to do that will come soon, and you should seize it when you see it. In an RP setting that seems even more applicable than normal because you have the power to literally and extensively shape the world Akiha inhabits :v

The TLDR answer: Go hog wild and beat some girls up. Somebody in the future, probably a person you regularly write with, might give you really good opportunity to do it, in fact.

OK, your single-card draw is the Page of Wands. it's a lot like the Fool in that it tends to represent potential and the beginning of something. There's more passion and creative energy being symbolized than in the Fool, though - there isn't necessarily a solid plan in place (which makes sense because you're trying out for multiple internships). Sometimes it can also represent a pleasant surprise, or unexpected good news, usually in the short term but sometimes requiring a bit more thought. In other words, don't plan too much for one specific outcome, but things should turn out well for you.

The TLDR answer: it's very possible you'll get the internship you want, but even if you end up having to settle for one of the others, you may find unexpected joy and satisfaction in it, maybe from the specific nature of the work or maybe from the people you'll get to meet

Two-card spreads basically revolve around 'what you should focus on now' vs 'what you should focus on later'. with that said, i have good news and bad news

your first card, signifying where to apply your focus, is Justice. Justice is all about accountability and balance, which means self-examination. It's possible you've been neglecting some important commitments or obligations, which could result in adversity. In the context of your question it's possible there have been other things distracting you from your coursework - maybe they're important things, maybe not, iunno. either way it might suit you well to look at your priorities and make sure you're happy with them

your second card, signifying what must be focused on later, is the Hermit. imo this is v serendipitous because, like Justice, it signifies reflection, but unlike Justice, it's not as, uh, severe. Just like the name suggests, the Hermit is all about taking some time to yourself and figuring out where life is going and whether that's where you want it to go. In the context of your question it can also indicate some important self-reflective questions, like 'am I receiving the guidance I need to succeed in my path?' asking both of those questions can help avert this kind of situation happening again in the future.

The TLDR answer: eliminate distractions and focus on passing and hopefully you'll get through fine, but regardless of what happens, afterwards you might want to take some time to make sure your heart's in your current path of study and you're not just going through the motions. you might want to consult a mentor figure about it.
