Sonic The Hedgehog Archie Comic Series

So. Who's a fan?

I started the following series in July of 97 with [url=http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20090402060002/archiesonic/images/d/d1/STH51.jpg:1g11ox6j]issue 51.[/url:1g11ox6j] I didn't even know how to read yet. (Was going to Kindergarten that upcoming August) I lost track sometime after #215? I don't remember im still missing a lot of the older issues and now the new ones. ONE OF MY LETTERS TO ARCHIE IS EVEN INCLUDED IN AN ISSUE!

It was my first comic series to follow and while certainty not the best it is the prime source of my childhood nostalgia and many of the feels.

It's supposedly really damn good now that Ian Flynn has taken over it, and starting getting rid of all the side characters and side stuff that the fans hated.

The Mega Man crossover that just ended was fucking AWESOME too.

On that note...READ ARCHIE'S MEGA MAN COMICS. THEY ARE SO GOOD.

I actually considered getting back into the series when i heard Mega Man was getting his own title.

That being said I like Flynn, tho my fav sonic writer was Ken Penders for the work he did with the Knuckles Series.

Anyway... What side chars did he get rid of? Something tells me he got rid of guys i liked like Mina Mongoose and Mammoth Mongol!

...most of Ken Penders' characters, because the overall fanbase doesn't like them. :X

He's doing a really back to basics thing.

I remember sonic the comic when I was growing up, reading them in the late 90's. I think Johnny Lightfoot got bumped off but I'm not sure as it's been a long time since I heard about the comics.

Screw the fanbase! Sonic has the worst fanbase ever. Are they whining because they dont see the guys Sega made?

Archie has done way better crafting Sonic and his universe way more than Sega ever did.

@Deus: Sonic The Comic is another series that was written by a UK based company and is unrelated to the Archie based series or Archie comics in general. I heard good things about it.

So I just read Ken Penders has a lawsuit against Sega going on and all of his chars have been removed from the storylines.

I just died a little inside, y'all.

I always hated the Sonic "fanbase" so much with a passion, at least the MegaMan fanbase had a reason to bitch since Capcom keeps screwing MegaMan over in more ways then one, but the Sonic "fanbase" does NOT. They are just a group whiny ungrateful morons that judge EVERYTHING by the sight, design, and name of the new Sonic games saying they are bad before they even get released and without playing them, they even done the most ungrateful thing ever when Sega made Sonic 4: Protest against it just because they used the modern design and used 3D graphics and said it "wasn't classic or retro" but I played it and it was very fun although honestly I hate the classic Sonic games. " title="Razz" /> But guess how they protested Sonic 4: By buying Sonic 1, real smart idiots!

Now about the comics, I never read much but only 1 issue, the one where Sonic and Mina save Princess Sally from the weasels thugs and Mina was shot, I never heard of the MegaMan comics until I heard of the Sonic and MegaMan crossover but now I want to read them from start to finish. Its hard liking Sonic since his fanbase sucks so much.

I really just find all the appeal in the comic series and have no interest in the games. I don't even like what Sega does with the chars.

It's a good series. It's getting better apparently... Even without a lot of the good chars that made it so memorable.
