Alicia Wells vs. "Amazon" Alaina Sanders

Alaina felt good. Well, as good as her worn out battered body could feel at any rate. Alicia was down and Alaina had to keep her there somehow. Everyone knew the amazon was strong, but she wanted to show that she wasn't a one trick pony. Alaina got up and ran for the ropes as quickly as she could. When she was close Alaina jumped up on the middle rope, spring boarding back and flipping in the air. Alaina knew she wasn't just a punching bag, and she hoped that Alicia knew that now too.

The amazon came flying back with a springboard moonsault, a trick she picked up from Julia Rogers, and hoped to bring her body crashing down right on top of Alicia!

Alicia was busy doing the real life equivalent of counting the little birdies flying around her head. Having been not just dropped but slammed on her head by someone like Alaina, she was in no state to be getting up or, apparently, doing much except pulling her limbs back in and lying there.

Whatever Alaina had in mind, she was apparently lying there ready to be put away.

As Valley could have told Alaina though, the redhead’s instincts for combat could border on the preternatural. Even in situations she couldn’t have experienced before joining Friction, she sometimes seemed to know what she needed to do. And it was never wise to assume she didn’t have a counter to hand even when she was dazed.

Or leg, as the case may be.

In this case, even Alicia couldn’t have said what tipped her off. Maybe it was nothing. But, however she knew, she knew.

So, as Alaina came down towards her, the redhead had her knees up ready and waiting. It wasn’t going to be fun for her either, but it’d be a lot more painful for Alaina.

Alaian flew up and came crashing down on top of Alicia's knees! She let out a loud, strained groan as the wind was knocked out of her! She crumpled on her back, trying to roll away from Alciia. She had to recover before Alicia did. She had to. However her tortured body was not in any shape to just get up.

The amazon was reduced to a husk, rolling on her back and laying there gasping for breath and looking like a hapless fool once more in this match. She grit her teeth and began to sit up, knowing that she needed to get up. It hurt beyond description but the amazon was very slowly making progress in her attempt to make it vertical once more.

And that was why Alicia liked to keep her feet on the ground when she fought. As soon as you leapt like Alaina had, you gave up all ability to react to your opponent’s counters. That meant, well, all the Amazon ex-champ had been able to do was see was those knees waiting for her.

Then she slammed onto them and rolled off, gasping for air and, for a moment at least, both women were back to equal footing. Both of them were flat on their back, looking like they’d been run over, and suddenly the advantage was open to whoever could stand up first.

For all that her instinctual and impressive counter had left Alaina completely out of it once more and for all that Alicia wanted more than anything else to get the former champ in a bodyscissors and squeeze her ‘till she screamed…

Well, she wasn’t in much better shape. The counter with her knees hadn’t hurt her anywhere near as much as it had hurt Alaina. But Alaina hadn’t just been suplexed and then had her brain shaken up, meaning that it was a clear struggle for Alicia as she too began to claw her way back to her feet.

Slowly, it had to be said. Very slowly. Getting a knee under her, reaching out for the ropes as she did her best to stand.

Alaina gasped and huffed as she stood up, seeing Alicia was also slow to her feet. Very good... This was a break Alaina needed. She was able to slightly recover from her ribs being crushed. Her torso throbbed with pain every time she took a breath. that was not at all a good sign.

The amazon had to keep on top of Alicia. To that end she stepped up and quickly launched a fast punch to the side of Alicia's jaw to try to stun her or otherwise distract her. From there, Alaina moved in low and grabbed her where her thigh met her waist, and her shoulder. With a loud cry, and aching mid-section Alaina would lift Alicia straight up into the air fully lifting her over her head!

From there Alaina waist no time bringing Alicia crashing down to the mat with a gorilla press slam, mustering all the strength she could to pull that feat off as forcefully as possible!

Alaina by luck or judgement or some mix of the two managed to catch Alicia as she was halfway towards standing, her hands on the ropes. That was why the punch landed home, the kickboxer too busy to block. Even then, it did little more than distract the redhead, jerking her head to the side, but it’d take more than that to put her down.

Still, it did distract her, allowing Alaina to get her grip on the Britishwoman and heft her up into the air in an impressive show of strength.

Alicia had never been put through a Gorilla Press before. She had a brief feeling of vertigo, almost, as the world tilted and shifted around her until she was staring at the mat from above Alaina’s head. The noise of the crowd seemed absurdly distant and then everything was moving again as she accelerated down towards the ring. Alaina had dropped her.

And then she hit.

Landing on her back, Alicia’s spine arched like a bow before she rolled over onto her front. Her hands pressed against the mat in an attempt to rise but the big redhead wasn’t able to summon up the strength to get her knees under her. For the moment, at least, she remained on the mat, struggling to recover from Alaina’s display of power.

But, through the glassiness, her eyes still gleamed. Alicia was enjoying this.

Alaina had Alicia down, not wanting to waste an opportunity to go for a pin! She quickly laid herself across Alicia's chest and reached down to hook a leg to further secure the pin.

"ONE!"

The count began Alaina nodding her head. She stopped Alicia's momentum and built some of her own. She hoped that Alicia would know not to take her lightly now. Alaina was determined to fight through a bad start and pull out a win no matter what it would take.

Given Alaina’s own size and strength, it was relatively easy for her to go about pinning Alicia. All she had to do was roll the big redhead onto her back, which she succeeded in without much opposition, and then roll her up so that both shoulders touched the mat. Showing her experience in the ring, Alaina did so without a hitch and the ref shot in to make the count.

Throughout all that, while the British woman wasn’t exactly passive, she wasn’t exactly struggling either. She’d been expecting Alaina to go for a hold and the combination of being stunned and surprise kept her there through the first slam of the referee’s hand on the canvas.

The ref’s hand hit the mat a second time and that was what it took to punch through the fog in Alicia’s head. It also did a good deal to shatter that fog as anger built in her – she’d lost her match to Valley through a sneaky pinfall and, while this wasn’t quite that irksome, it still did nothing for her mood that Alaina was already trying to end things.

Whatever. The redhead drew her legs in towards her chest as close as possible before kicking back out with all the massive power in her lower body. At the same time, she twisted her upper body, looking to pop a shoulder up off the mats.

Alaina was bucked off Alicia and rolled away, getting up to her feet. Alaina was pissued and wanted to punish Alicia. To that end Alaina got up and lined up with Alicia's face. Alaina ran forward and swung a leg back looking to hammer Alicia with a running soccer kick to the jaw!

If that didn't daze the big woman Alaina didn'the know what would!

And once again, while Alicia might lack much in the way of skill when it came to escaping a pin, her overwhelming power just let her muscle her way free of what might well have been a three count for smaller opponents.

Instantly, Alicia rolled up to a knee, knowing that she had to act fast if she wanted to get back in this match. Alaina was clearly firing on all cylinders right now and, much as it was fun to see and be on the other side of, Alicia did also intend to show the ex-champion that she wasn’t some newbie to be rolled over and sent back down to the kiddie leagues.

Oh no. Win or lose, Alaina was going to know she’d been in a fight.

While the kick might well have dazed Alicia, Alaina was destined never to find out. As the brunette came hurtling in, the redhead steadied herself and threw up the strongest block she could manage. It barely held, her forearms definitely bruising from the impact Alicia was demanding they take, but it held.

And that was all she needed. Moving as quickly as she could, the kickboxer went to grab at Alaina’s leg, determined to snatch the limb and twist it hard to bring the former champ back down to the mat.

Enjoyable or not, Alicia had had enough of being on the defensive here. It was time to put things back on the other foot.
