Comic Con Adventure

A part of Akino couldn’t help but feel a little disappointed when she heard Sion’s advice, mainly because she knew he was absolutely right. Akino had brought a lot of money with her, but spending too much of it at once was a very real possibility. They would likely need to eat later, and they would almost certainly find more stands with appealing merchandise. As much as Akino would’ve loved to just spend every bit of her money on as many things from this stand as possible, she knew that wouldn’t be wise.

“You’re right..” she said with a sigh, then started scanning for things that stood out specifically. The bluenette picked out three comics, a Wolverine T-shirt, and Cyclops visor. After she paid, the man running the stand bagged the merchandise and handed it to Akino. She took it, then turned back to Sion. “Well, I think I’m all set here. Where to next? Or was there anything here you wanted?”

He pats her on the back after she sighed. He isn't to sure where they should go next, but he does overhear someone near by saying that there would be a mini-wrestling show going on here either later that night or tomorrow. He mentions back in Canada one convention he's been to has something like that too, though mentions "You'll never think of Sesame Street the same again once you seen Elmo give someone a Canadian Destroyer."

He wonders if there is a gaming area, like maybe video or table top. Mostly something interactive, but he had no problem following her lead if she had a preference.

Akino had heard and seen plenty of bizarre things, but just the mental image alone Sion’s words created was still enough to find its way pretty high up on that list. It sounded nonsensical and juvenile...yet so intriguing all at once. She made a mental note to be on the lookout for more details if she could find them, but for now there was more to explore.

Holding her bag of new X-Men goodies in her left hand, the one-eyed maid again took the lead and walked along. Sure enough, it wasn’t long before they passed a table where a group of people were gathered around playing some sort of video game. Though Akino wasn’t aware of what Sion had been wondering, the sight made her curious enough to stop and try to get a look. But to her dismay, the people crowded around the screen were too tall and too many for the short bluenette to get a good look. After a few moments of futile effort in getting a peak, she turned to look at Sion. “Hey, can you see what they’re playing?”

He notices it too but it doesn't look like something he's seen before. "Not sure. Must be something new if I could guess." He'd move a bit so she would have room to get in front of him and 'accidentally' look to give her some more room to see by using his skunk tail to nudge some people near them away a few inches so she can get a better view. Though as that was going on he did hear something that sparked his interest. He looked over and saw a DDR machine in a near by demo area and there was no line up...yet. He hurried over there and tried to get Akaino to join him.

Once Sion started opening the way for her a bit, Akino squeezed in through the crowd a bit in hopes of getting a better look. There were still too many in front of her to get a clear view, but it seemed to be an old school fighter of some kind. Street Fighter? Mortal Kombat? She couldn’t tell for sure. But her attention went back to Sion when she felt him nudging her.

She saw him hurry over to the DDR machine, and immediately started having flashbacks to the last time she’d played this particular game. It had been in an arcade with a girl named Chloe, and that game had led to a TLC match that Akino quite frankly wished she could forget ever happened... But there was no risk in playing it this time around, so the maid shook off the thought and smiled as she went over to join Sion.

While having played this before it has been some time since he attempted to do so in a fursuit, but that didn’t appear to bother him. “Been a while since I’ve tried this in one of these but let’s see what happens. Alright if I pick the first song, then you, then randomize the final one?” He had a feeling a line would form soon so they would have enough time for a set. If she was alright with that he would make his pick. There were a handful of tracks that he liked but he settled on God of Romance.

He wasn't sure if Akino wanted to make a competition out of this or not so he didn't bring it up. Given what he was wearing it might put him at a disadvantage if she was looking to make a game out of it, which if she wanted one he wouldn't be against the idea but he was just looking for a fun time here. A few seconds after getting to the track he wanted he asked her "Ready?" while hovering over the start button.

It was more than a little obvious that Akino was going to have a clear advantage in this, but that was fine. They were just hear for fun, after all. “Sounds fine to me.” Akino answered with a nod while waiting to see what he would pick. Once God of Romance was chosen.

Grinning slightly, the maid turned at Sion and nodded again when he asked if she was ready. “I'm always ready.” she replied. And with that she turned back toward the screen and waited to get this show on the road.

The arrows came almost right away, compared to other songs where it doesn't happen for a few seconds or so. That didn't bother Sion as he's done this particular one before. The difficulty he picked for this one was a bit lower than what he was use to doing, but given what he was wearing it wasn't a bad idea to get a feel for everything. As far as how things went for him he did pretty alright, it seemed simple enough and he didn't complicate things, though he wanted to do something with the last double step but decided not to at this point.

When he had a couple of seconds to do during the song so he would glance over at Akino and see how she was doing.

Once the arrows came, Akino’s focus zeroed in on them. One after another she seamlessly made the right moves and started racking up points. The maid was tempted to glance over at Sion’s score as well, but managed to avoid doing so. She only had one working eye, and it didn’t need to be wandering right now. Akino still ended up missing a few steps throughout the song. But each time she recovered and got right back on track. Only once the song ended did she take a step back, smiling a bit as she glanced toward Sion.

“How’d you do?”

Given their difficulty settings Akino's points score was much higher than his, though he did have a higher letter grade score by one. When she asks how he did he looks at the screen and give her a small shrug and gives an unsure "Yay?" in reaction to how their scores matched up visually. "Everything felt ok. I might go up one depending which one you pick."

He had a slight feeling either whatever she picks or whatever comes up last may really make him work regardless of what setting he is on. He took a small look around as Akino was going through the song list. There was water near by if needed, though he did also notice a few people taking a look at what he and Akino were doing. Hopefully a big crowd wouldn't form and want a big showing for the last one but they had to get through Akino's choice first. "Find anything good?"
