Comic Con Adventure

Outside of wrestling, Akino Sanada wasn’t much of an unordinary woman. Or at least, she didn’t particularly believe she was. But she had interests unrelated to in-ring competition, comic books being chief among them. So when she learned several months ago that Comic Con was coming to the Tokyo Dome, plans were made almost immediately. And in the process, she’d come to discover another wrestler within AFW who happened to share her interests: Sion. The two had gotten to know each other fairly well, and eventually decided to go together.

Today was the big day, and now Akino was standing just outside Friction’s arena, where she and Sion had agreed to meet. The one-eyed girl was wearing the same maid uniform she typically wore in her wrestling matches. It wasn’t exactly much of a cosplay getup, considering she didn’t look like any characters she knew of, but it’d fit in as well as anything else there. And when would such a statement apply to her maid outfit again? Probably not for quite a while. Might as well take advantage of it while she could.

Akino crossed her arms and tapped her foot impatiently against the ground. “What’s taking him so long?” she muttered aloud to herself. Though in reality, he wasn’t even late. Akino had just gotten there early, and was quite eager to get going as soon as possible.

It took Sion a bit to get there, though timing wise he was doing alright. When she showed up he did have a fair amount of stuff with him. Hopefully she would let him drop it all off and give him time to get ready before they headed out.

There was still a good amount of time before things would start, but of course getting inside would be slightly time consuming due to how many people were at these things. Still, it was something that he didn't mind much. "Don't suppose I could get a hand here?" Sion asked her as he showed up. With what he all had he could usually carry himself but it was just awkwardly stored. "Ready for a fun weekend?"

“About time. What took you so long?” Akino asked as Sion showed up, though the answer to her question was rather obvious. He had come carrying seemingly enough stuff to fill up a small shed. Akino, on the other hand, had come with her phone to take pictures, and a small notepad and pen for autographs, all of which were stored within a single pocket.

So naturally, she didn’t mind holding a few of Sion’s things when he asked for a hand. “Just had to overpack, didn’t you?” she said teasingly, but took several of his things to lighten his load. And when he asked if she was ready, the maid smiled and nodded.

“Absolutely.” she answered, then started leading the way. “Come on! We don’t want to be late.” Akino said. Despite the fact that they were still pretty early, there was bound to be a line to get through to get in. And, her eagerness had cut a large chunk out of the girl’s patience today. The sooner they could get there, the better.

"Well not really, some of it I picked up on the way, borrowed from someone here for the weekend. You'll see what it's for." When they stop to drop the stuff off he shows her what are parts of some type of big 'portable' fan, but doesn't assemble it. He mentions it's for what he'll be wearing for the first part of the day. He goes into the bathroom and a short time later comes out wearing one of those fursuits, but also with some light clothing on it, just because.

"Well? What'cha think? Ready to go?"

Akino was more than a little confused by the large portable fan, especially when Sion elected not to put it together. When he later revealed himself in a fur suit, she couldn’t help but chuckle - not that the blue-haired girl wearing a maid outfit and eyepatch was going to judge anyone else today on their attire; it was just amusing to see Sion in something like this for the first time.

“Yeah. Lets go.” she said, then turned to lead the way to the convention.

He didn't put it together yet since he knew Akino wanted to head out, but he at least said what it was and what it was for. When he was ready to go and heard her chuckle he put his hands on his hips and asked her if she's never seen a skunk before, though he wasn't bothered by it.

“Can’t say I have.” Akino replied, giggling again at the seemingly sarcastic comment. Fun little fact, she’d seen plenty of skunks on TV or in movies, but she really hadn’t seen one in real life before. But anyway, they soon arrived, and the maid’s eye immediately began to scan the surroundings. Countless cosplayers roamed the area, and multitudes of stands were set up all over the place for seemingly all different kinds of interests. Anime, comic books, video games, movies and countless other things were represented. “Where should we go first, Sion?” she asked, either oblivious or just outright ignoring some looks the maid and giant skunk were getting every now and then from people who walked by.

"Not sure. Usually when I go to events like these they're usually not this large. Anything looks interesting to you for starters?" He didn't seem to have a preference and would follow wherever she decided they should go first.

The question was difficult to answer. Not because Akino didn’t find anything interesting. Quite the opposite, in fact. There was just so much going on everywhere she looked that it was hard to pick a place to start. That is, until a large X-Men stand came into view. An assortment of X-Men comics, T-shirts and numerous other memorabilia decorated the stand. The decision had just become exponentially easier, and immediately Akino began to quickly walk over to look over all of it, knowing part of her would be very tempted to spend every bit of money she’d brought with her just at this one stand.

Sion notices Akino looking at everything and tells her "As tempting as it is I don't think spending everything you got here would be a good idea. I almost made that mistake the first one I ever went to. Luckily someone was with me and reminded I had to eat at some point so I kinda held back for a bit." He knew she'd be alright but it still felt like something that should be said. "Though is there anything here that stands out?"
