an idea for a pay-per-view

focusing more on hard-core stuff what do you guys think of a death match tournament? in a similar vein to CZW/BJW/XPW? The winner to be crowned King and Queen of the death match

By 'death match', I assume you mean, like...people actually dying?

If you do mean wrestlers actually dying, then it would be restricted to the Alternative arena and one-off RPs, because I don't know if anyone would want their actual AFW characters to die.

I know that the AFW is crazy and all, but there's no way that it would ever sanction a match where death is the end goal, let alone an entire tournament. I think death matches are allowed in the Alternative section and some of the Fur and Feathers section of the board. In Friction and Tension, however, the darkest that it has ever gotten is with the ambulance match type: a match where one combatant has to be injured before the match will be allowed to end. For obvious reasons, they are a rare occurrence, but I have seen one happen in the past.

Additionally, it might be possible to do an RP where a character dies in the ring by accident. You'd have to find someone willing to do that, however, and frankly, I would hate to see anyone on this board deciding to throw away a character for good.

I don't believe the majority of the AFW's audience (either IC or OOC) would be the type of person to pay to watch girls kill each other.

Well, we have a lot of those sorts of matches already. I know there have been several barbed wire matches and there is probably interest in doing more in the future. So there very well might be interest in doing that sort of tournament someday. Although a lot of people would still be turned off by it, even if there isn't an actual death.

well I was thinking about starting up faction like XPW (but I got shot down) but whatever if anyone is interested in a match with my character then just say so it's not going to be hard-core just a standard

Geez. The term "death match" gets used in wrestling all the time and doesn't revolve around actual death. Just very violent hardcore matches. They were all the rage in Japan in the 90's and early 2000's. 


But then again, You would have to actually watch at least SOME actual wrestling promotions to realize that, instead of just winging it or watching some shitty anime featuring wrestling.

Actual wrestling promotions bore me to tears, and they have next to nothing in common with the weird (but fun) stuff that happens on this site, but thanks for chiming in.
