Check Your Head

"Yeah, I hear ya, man. AFW isn't a friendly place." Taylor scratched the back of her head and hopped off the ring apron to pace around. Her thighs were freezing.

"Like... I didn't call just to break your balls or anything, but... what about that chick? The girl? The high school girl or whatever? What the fuck was up with that?"

"You're not." He assured her before hearing Taylor out about some high schooler?

"Who? Lilly? I figured you'd know since you were there at ringside helping my gi-... Mercy." It was reflex to call her his girl.

"She was just some brat who got all jealous when I turned down bein' her lap dog to go be with Mercy."

"No... I know who Lilly is. I trained Mercy to fight her," Taylor said. "The redheaded girl. Bonnie fought her. It seemed like you guys were trying to bully her or some shit. I get that you've got crazy girl problems, but what the fuck was up with that?"

"And thanks for that." Clyde said before hearing Taylor's question, creating some concern for Clyde, who felt a little uncomfy and a wave of guilt. Clyde hadn't told Bonnie what Allison had said about the way Emily felt after that night.

"You think that was bullying?" He asked. "We just needed ta' get Allison's attention, in a time where she was ducking us hard." Truthfully, it was an Bonnie idea got after meeting with some woman. Clyde didn't even know all the details, but he wasn't going to just leave his sister out to try dry.

Taylor shook her head and unconsciously clenched her fist. "Goddamn, dude. Seriously? You wanted to make a statement by beating down some girl from the chess club? Allison's the crazy bitch, right? What the fuck does she have to do with the redhead?"

Clyde furrowed his brow, he figured this would go sour. When did he and Taylor NOT get into it?

"A beatdown? Did you even watch that match? It wasn't no damn beatdown. Bonnie gave her an elbow drop and a clean pin. A beatdown would be what Allison and Jocelyn did ta' my sister while I had ta' watch it."

"...She's Allison's niece. And we went there ta' get Emily on our side. Because ya know, we didn't think anybody with a heart would love that bitch. Turns out she didn't care that her aunt liked to hurt people." Clyde was ready to hang up now, he really wasn't in the mood for someone to judging his shit right now.

"You went after her family," Taylor said in complete disbelief. She stopped pacing and stood rooted in place, staring at nothing. Thoughts filled her head of what she would do if Clyde came after her family, if she had a niece or a little sister.

"You went after her family," she repeated.

Taylor said it the first time, Clyde scowled in anger because Taylor didn't understand. She didn't it see their way. But when she repeated it to drill it in his head, the guilt sank in and he shut his eyes tightly.

"It wasn't supposed ta' be like that." He muttered, feeling like he was going to have another person chasing him now. Maybe Bonnie.

"So what do you want from me?" He asked defensively enough, knowing she had no interest in his well-being and was instead trying to lecture him or something. He wouldn't be surprised if one of the Higurashi's jumped him. Or Taylor joined up with Allison. They couldn't trust anyone these days. Shauna flipped on him like a dime.

Taylor scowled. "Don't be like that."

"Like what?" He grumbled.

"Allison took pleasure in humiliating and torturing Bonnie in front of my eyes. We didn't do that to Emily. We could have, but we didn't. We're better than her 'cause of that!"
