Ryan Knight vs Charlie Haines

Truth be told Ryan wasn't underestimating Charlie, he never did that to anyone. That led to defeat after all, Ryan had heard the stories from his old man about it.

Now it was Charlie's turn to mount an attack, the paragon of Britain was eager to see what he'd have in mind. As he moved towards Mr Haines, ready for an attack. Charlie actually surprised the young man, by going under him! Not even Lucy attempted that in their sparring matches, nor had the young man witnessed it before in a match.

But he couldn't just stand there like a statue, Ryan knew Charlie was up to something. So the Knight would quickly spin around, hoping to hit with the back of his fist.

Charlie saw Ryan turn and made sure to stay low. While he wasn't going to catch Ryan from behind, he wasn't about to let himself get back-handed either. Charlie ducked the attack, and decided to thrust forward with his left leg leading his knee right into Ryan's mid-section as hard as he could! "So close....." Charlie said as a fist flew overhead and he attempted to ram his knee into Ryan's gut.

Even if stunned for a split second, it would provide Charlie with an opening. Thus far in the match, that had yet to really happen for the small Californian.

Ryan let out a very loud grunt, followed by a hiss. It seemed Charlie was attempting to start brawling now, fair enough Ryan could tank it. If only he caught Mr Haines with that backhand, it could have bought him some time. But Charlie got his strike in and now at this present time, held the advantage.

The close proximity made movement a tad awkward, Ryan knew Charlie would most likely attempt to continue his offense. But given how he had been bended over forward to absorb some of the damage, he was now open for another attack. The paragon of Britain just had to see what Charlie would attempt in the next few seconds, but Ryan still had plenty in the tank.

All right.... now to set up something a bit more fun. Charlie saw Ryan slightly hunched over and decided to try to leap up and wrap his legs around Ryan's heck and hit him with a hurricanrana before he could recover. "Just gotta get some steam rolling then I can really put on a show..." Charlie thought to himself. Indeed, if this attack hit it opened Charlie's offense up by allowing for a lot of different aerial attacks to a downed opponent....

But first thing was first, he had to pull off that hurricanrana without having his plan backfire....

Although Ryan was quite good at tanking hits, being a big British bloke and all. Taking the hit and dealing it back in time were two different things. No sooner was he starting to comeback did Charlie prepare to leap up, Ryan tried to grab hold of Mr Haines legs. To try and counter and perhaps powerbomb the surfer man into the mat, but it was too late.

"Damm you!" Ryan shouted out. The paragon of Britain was sent along for the ride, his vision swirling about as he was flung to the mat. His back skidding across it, but still Ryan had the endurance. Although it took a few seconds to recover and catch his breath,
sure enough Mr Knight would be back on his knees and soon standing up if Charlie didn't do something quick to stop the Knight in his tracks.

Charlie was somewhat surprised Ryan didn't pull off a reversal, but the payoff was worth the risk this time! As soon as Charlie flipped Ryan over and onto the mat he was back on his feet and running at the nearest ropes.

Charlie jumped up onto the middle rope, and used it to springboard back at Ryan with a lionsault! Once more, this was another high risk, high reward gamble. If Ryan was still laying on the mat Charlie would have firm control of the match, and could set the tempo. Hell, if Ryan was just in the area he was going to at least get hit by a flying Charlie somehow. But... if Ryan had more in his tank than Charlie thought, then Charlie would be in a tad bit of trouble....

Ryan was recovering, as best he could. He knew Charlie was going to keep attempting offensive moves till the Knight couldn't fight no longer. But that would be no easy task, Ryan would make damm sure of that.

And he noted that Charlie was now bouncing off the ropes and coming at him once again, but this time Ryan would be ready for it. In fact by the time Charlie's feet left the ground Ryan would be back on his feet, ready to counter.

"Got you now!" Ryan would say as he made his retaliation.

Ryan would attempt to rush forward and grab Charlie mid move, with Mr Haines held in his grasp Ryan would then turn around and move forward. Hoping to take Charlie down hard with a power slam, hooking his leg for a pin attempt.

Yeah... today wasn't a good day thus far. As Charlie flew back at Ryan he initially didn't see him getting up but he felt Ryan grab hold of him, using his own momentum against him. The next thing Charlie knew he was hammered down onto the mat.

"Oomph!" Charlie didn't say anything, as the slam mostly pressed the air out of his lungs. Ryan stayed on top of him and hooked his leg. Charlie began to squirm... he heard the referee's hand hit the mat, with the crowd echoing a loud "ONE" as the count continued. Just before the count got to 2 Charlie managed to thrust his shoulder up to break the count. Unfortunately, Ryan was still on top of him....

Ryan had sure decked Charlie there, Mr Knight always did enjoy it when he sparred against Lucy. To pluck them out of the air and send them slamming down, helped plug the momentum to be sure.

The pin attempt was just an afterthought, Ryan was rather certain Charlie would break out. After all Ryan had yet to bust out one of his finishers, Mr Haines certainly showed a grasp of the wrestling game. It was the most fun Ryan had in a match thus far, not since the time he battled Songbird.

Now how to go about it now that Charlie had broken out, the most obvious thing would be to maintain the offense. But since Charlie liked to fly....The paragon of Britain would plan to move over to Charlie's legs and grab hold of them, not for a boston crab like last time. This time he was planning to attempt a giant swing, and if Charlie didn't get his stuff together then Ryan was going to make Antonio Cesaro proud!

Charlie was ready to try to worm his way out of a finisher, but things didn't go as he had expected them to. Charlie saw the world begin to spin all around him and everything slowly began to blur altogether. He had loved various amusement park rides in his day, but this wasn't to his liking one bit.

Charlie tried to do a sit-up, reaching out to grab at Ryan's arms but it was no use. The outward force of the spin made sitting up and punching Ryan nigh impossible. "At least the landing won't hurt as bad as that dizzy feeling... right?" Charlie thought to himself as he spun around at Ryan's mercy.
